He met the young Bob Dylan on his first visit to the UK in the frigid winter of 1962/63. After being friends initially the relationship started to sour when he became jealous of the attention that Dylan was starting to attract and took to heckling Dylan on stage. Dylan soon got the measure on him and whenever he started to act up Dylan would simply ignore him, acting in a fourth wall fashion - i.e - as if he wasn't there or even didn't exist. Nearly 60 years on it's pretty obvious who won that battle, lol!
