I worked for Apple as a contractor for AppleCare for the better part of 5 years, I specialized in all iOS and MacOS devices within the last 7 years. I was good at my job, my customer surveys were mostly extremely positive, and my supervisor was happy with the support I was able to give. Found a workaround from the background bug forums we had for an issue with the (then) new iPhone 7, but I forget what it was now. They never taught us about the Lockdown folder. You gave me the answer I needed to fix an issue I've been fighting with for hours.
The second solution worked for me. Why couldn't I have found your exceptionally simply explained video before?!?! I've been working on this for months to no avail, and then your video was recommended to me and I fixed my problem in a twinkling. Thank you!
So true. I was looking for the solution all over the internet but here only I got the perfect solution. Now my iPhone got connected to my windows 10. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Bro. This helped me. I was looking for the solution all over the internet for days. But here I got the solution . Now my iPhone got connected to my windows PC. Thanks once again.
Dude, holy smokes, THANK YOU!!! The first step worked exactly as you said it would! I've had to carry around a cheap little mp3 player on account of iTunes actually rewriting my new phone and then that error kept me from uploading all of my old music onto it. Now I can listen to all of the good stuff I loved! You are wonderful. Also, found you while googling how to fix this message. THANK YOU!
Friend, your video was published 5 years ago and solved my problem in 2024. Thank you very much for the practicality in your guidance in search of this solution. Greetings Wilson, Brazil
Thank you! This worked on my wife's computer. I deleted that folder, rebooted, deleted iTunes, rebooted, then reinstalled iTunes. In 2016 I had the same problem and ended up buying a Mac to replace my PC, just so my iPhone, iPad, and computer would all play nicely together. (Backing up your iPhone on a Mac doesn't require iTunes.) I since got Apple TV too and it plays nicely with the others too.
Great!! After hours of trying I finally managed to connect my iPhone XR with a very old version of iTunes on my wifes old notebook, but this way is so much easier. Thanks a lot!! Now I can do backups again.
Spent over an hour on phone with Apple Support to no avail. Finally checked for online help. Worked after removing Lockdown folder and rebooting. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
Thank you so much omg.. I've been pulling my hair out on this problem for close to 3 hours now. Even the Apple solutions are useless. I THANK YOU SIRR!!!
You are a god send my man! I hade this problem with my iPhone 6s, the first solution did! Deleting the folder and rebooting the computer. The last time I was able to make a backup was was in 2019-11-01... Its completely fixed now! I don't usually make comments but you deserve it man! Thank you!!!
Wow! This method works on my iPhone 6S. Deleted the Lockdown folder from ProgramData>Apple folder, then rebooted my PC, reconnected my cable and iTunes is now able to connect both. Thanks a lot, mate!
You are my Hero ! The first step of deleting the folder and re starting the computer worked for my iPad mini. Been trying for a week to fix this. Thank you so very much!!!!
YOU ARE AMAZING! I actually had the same issue with my ipod touch, used your first solution and resolved it right away. I was so close to smashing this against a wall after troubleshooting for three hours.
So many options on the web for fixing this error so my ipad could be recognized, but they involve deleting a bunch of files... scary for an amateur like me, worried I might do some unfixable damage. Yours was the easiest method, so I tried it and it immediately worked!! My iPad is being recognized and now I can backup to iTunes. Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooo^♾ much!!!!
Oh my .... that’s great. Since I have my new Air4 (day1-User) I can’t connect it to my iTunes. And now you saved it. The folder fix was it. I‘m so thankful .....Greetz from 🇩🇪
Just like to say a BIG Thank You. This fix worked for my iphone 6s plus. Followed some apple instructions, without success, to get the phone recognized so it would then be able to install a backup. Just followed your clear instructions ... the program data wasn't hidden. Only had to do the first step to achieve success. Woohoo!!!
Thank you for posting this!! I was struggling to solve the same issue that happened after purchasing a new iPhone. How would regular people like myself figure out how to fix this problem by going through these hidden steps???
Thank you! Deleted the file from Program Data and then had to reboot, but that fixed it! I had several devices that weren't recognized and several that were, and now they are all recognized.
Thank you. This exact error message was also coming on my new iPad Pro when I was trying to plug in and sync. Eliminated the Lockdown folder, rebooted PC, and it was recognized immediately. (My iTunes version was the most recent, and already bee re-installed.) I had contacted Apple support with no success. Another time when a You Tube video solved a problem!
It worked for me. I had to delete the "lockdown" file, restart and I also suggest just deleting iTunes entirely and then installing fresh from the website. That is a lot faster than trying to go through the update process in the software. *Thanks for the help, sir!*
AWESOME. Worked immediately. Deleted the folder and rebooted PC and was able to connect XR to iTunes!!! Much appreciated. Thanks for sharing the info, and I'll be following you (RU-vid follow, not creepy... you know what I mean :) )
Whilst saying that you are a genius is pushing it, you have saved my ears from the continuous moaning from my wife about how her phone won't download the latest update. For this I am eternally grateful as are my ears.
After talking to 3 apple reps and hours of being on the phone with no fix I just came across this vid and it was fixed in 2 minutes lol Thank you so much!!! You are a hero!!!!!!
Thanks for your video. I brought new brand iPhone 11 from apple store and I try to transfer musics from my pc but it shows same issue . I watch your video and follow every steps that you show on this videos. Finally it works and I transfer music from my pc. Well done I really appreciate your video.
This worked for me as well! OMG, thank you so much! I spent days trying to get my iPhone 6S to sync back up with my HP ENVY computer running Windows 10, and nothing I tried worked until this! This video is well done, is easy to follow, shows you step by step what to do, what folders to open, and what to delete so you can get back up and connected to iTunes again! For reference my iTunes was up to date, and my iPhone 6S was also updated to the latest IOS, so step one of the video worked for me on the first try!
Worked after the reboot, had the same problem with my Iphone 7 Plus! Thanks! You might want to point out that after deleting the lockdown folder, you get a slightly different error (0x8000003)
Thank you sooo much. I'm searching like 4 Hours to find a Solution like this. I can't belive that this worked for me!! Thank you so much I Liked and subscribed to you!!
I had this problem with my iPhone 8 though a 6s and 6th gen iPad worked ok - anyway I deleted the lockdown folder as per your vid and that worked a treat so many thanks indeed.
