I think that since Penny's balls of fire star power is now baseline and that they never mentioned her spread attack being changed or buffed while they mentioned every other change for her, her new star power would be the increased 3 to 5 projectiles from her basic attack spread.

The update is a nice addition. However, I feel like the improvements and reworks aren’t adding very much. I don’t see this keeping people playing when they come back once the update drops

Haven't play Penny much for a long time but with this new look, buffs, and rework it is going to exciting to used her again when the season comes out. Kairos Do you think it might get Penny out of the F tier rank and go straight to maybe B or A tier rank when upgrade comes, I'm just thinking about it 🤔

The update is pretty cool but I am so dissapointed that they STILL didn't make any changes to gears! I really thought they were gonna do it finally this time and also because the title said "lots of improvements"

I’m 90% sure brawlers can reload when they are hit by Otis’ super. In the clip you see Bibi use an attack, then get hit. As she runs away, her bat turns red again to indicate full ammo. Edit: As mentioned by a comment, Bibi also gains her speed boost when this occurs so it’s safe to say it’s likely that passive abilities such as star powers will remain while hit by Otis’s super

The release of Otis might mean that Belle's grounded star has some use; combined with Otis' super the enemy can't do anything ever

I feel like Penny should be able to splash off teammates, like as a star power or something. This could change her into a psuedo-support brawler. Being able to save teammates from Edgars and such.

That part where Penny's attacks split into 5 groups of coins when she hits an enemy or her barrel gadget could be her new 2nd star power since Balls of Fire is now part of the base kit.

For an update that's before summer break ,this really puts no interest into old players to keep playing . The only changes that are different from other updates is that clubs are slightly changed and I guess some of the game modes. Honestly as a long term player I don't have a goal to keep going without feeling anything that's fresh and if the team keeps delaying their actual BIG improvement update then I don't see myself enjoying the game having to wait 2 months to have just an update to interest me back

If the gameplay shown is final, then reloading, passive abilities, and star powers are not blocked by Otis's super. We can see Bibi get hit with Otis's super after attacking, then later gain the speedboost from her first star power.

Club league is now a bit more enjoyable than it was before. I hope Supercell will work on the power league rewarding system, starpoints only, its just pointless. Nice video KT👍

In the brawl talk footage, it is shown that Bibi can reload and use her starpower while "marked" by Otis. You can see the symbol of a brawler having a speed boost (upwards arrows), while being "marked" by Otis, meaning she is reloading which enables her speed starpower. She can not have had full ammo before, because the symbol for a speedboost is not always visible.

I stopped playing club league because there wasnt anything to get, and they stopped releasing skins on the club store. Maybe these changes will make me play it again, for the fun of it

After all the sneak peaks and teasers all week, I was expecting more. Update kinda feels underwhelming in my own opinion, especially after last summers update.

Loving the look from this update but I do wish they said something about reworking gears.

I'm probably most excited for the club league change. Tbh I think they could have done a little bit better with the club league change but a step in the right direction for sure. The new brawlers super seems cool to but the brawler overall just kinda feels like a new Lou and I was hoping since it was an under water brawler there would be some kind of new ability but there wasn't any then with the new game mode it just feels like the same as the old takedown. Overall a 6/10 update and I kinda wish they did something with gears or Starr park but that didn't happen although brawl stars made a lot of quality to life inside of this game and they made some good changes and I know it feels like I'm complaining and I'm grateful for the update but NGL a little bit disappointed especially for a summer update

Im really really glad about the club league improvement but what the community wanted was a rework to Gears...

In the Otis showcase, it shows Byron healing Griff about 2 seconds after Otis uses his super but it is hard to tell if it does because Byron’s healing takes a second to heal

I literally started the game 3 months ago after watching one of your videos kairos, and since I have only missed a few of your vids. Got fang a couple of days ago and would really appreciate the octofang skin 🥺

I've got to be honest, this update was disappointing. There were NO gear changes and they just changed club league. I feel like supercell either really doesn't care, or has really big things planned. It better be good, since it's nearly been a year.

The update is definitely good. But i feel like the "improvements" are very minimal. There arent any game changing buffs to gears and level 11. And the map maker is still a mess.

One of the star powers could be making the super effects slightly longer by maybe .5 seconds or maybe 1 sec

For Otis' super I feel it wouldn't stop bo's vision range increase with his star power, unless there is a star power for it, because in the clips bibi is still fast even though she was hit by the super.

The easiest way to fix gears is to increase the drop rate of gear tokens and gear scraps by a lot. Make it cheap!!! That way you won’t feel the scarcity of resources to craft gears for any brawler you want.

The new brawler’s ultimate could be really strong, but his basics hurts to use since it’s similar to Lou’s attack, hopefully it’s easier to aim it, also love the penny remodel now and hopefully the changes in her kit improves he performance a lot

I am really happy with the new club league update but I wish that they could add something to clubs to make them feel more inclusive as my club feels very separated and not many do club league. They could add notifications from club chat as an option for the club but that’s just an idea

The Penny rework and remodel made me so happy! She’s been in my top 5 brawlers forever and now she’s getting a cool new look and a complete rework that looks like it will make her viable in some game modes

I’m not gonna lie, this update feels very underwhelming. Was expecting more and just a gear change or SOMETHING besides a bunch of line skins that not everyone can buy and a revamped club league when honestly it was fine beforehand (in my opinion). Penny remodel is worse than before (in my opinion) and decreasing Penny’s range was NOT the move. Just increase her projectile speed WITHOUT decreasing her range and then maybe shed be viable. Not a fan of the update Edit: after seeing kairos actually talk about penny now, I can see why she’s very good now. I change my mind. But I’m still a little sad that there’s no gear reworks.

I haven't been playing brawl stars for a while. I haven't deleted it though since if I ever get bored of my current games, I know I'll have some variety in brawl stars. But hey, at least this'll make go back to playing it for about a week, join a club, and try to stay online for at least every other day

I like the update, but mostly im just disappointed that they didnt address any of the immense issues with gears. Theyve been broken for way too long now

I used to believe that basically, the newer brawlers will just be copies of older ones. It is the fate of any pvp game with characters and constant additions to them. But Braw Stars has been able to keep up so far. Honestrly very impressive, that they still roll out unique brawlers every time!

I think ..... when penny shoots her splash damage became five projectiles it is her new starpower

The new account starting track is going to be a much more balanced decision now, maybe much more in favor of Penny over Darryl. This rework was really good, she was so bad before.

I believe that otis’ super will not effect star powers because the bibi that Otis hits with his super at some point in the video still has a speed buff, most likely from her star power because she wasn’t in bushes, so it wasn’t from a speed gear.

I think her new star power is for her attacks cuz you can see like small fires when her cannon is not placed

This update was pretty underwhelming ngl :/

The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a very fast building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to deploy. Strategy His fast move speed can boost forward mini tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. At the same time, he can also function as a tank for lower hitpoint troops such as Goblins as he still has a fair amount of health. Most cheap swarms complement the Hog Rider well, as they are nearly as fast as him and usually force more than one card out of the opponent's hand. The Hog Rider struggles with swarms, as they can damage him down and defeat him quickly while obstructing his path. Barbarians in particular can fully counter him without very strict timing on the defender's part, though be wary of spells. A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits if placed right on top of it. However, if you place something in front of the Hog Rider, the Hunter's splash will damage the Hog Rider and hit the card in front of it more. The Hog Rider in conjunction with the Freeze can surprise the opponent and allow the Hog Rider to deal much more damage than anticipated, especially if the opponent's go-to counter is a swarm, or swarms are their only effective counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will immediately be defeated by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low enough health to be defeated by a follow up Zap or Giant Snowball. However, this strategy isn't very effective against buildings as the Hog Rider will take a while to destroy the building, giving the opponent ample time to articulate another counter. Against non-swarm troops, it can deal a lot of damage during the freeze time, but this can allow the opponent to set up a massive counterpush. For this reason, players should either only go for a Hog Rider + Freeze when they have other units backing it up from a counterattack, or if the match is about to end and they need to deal as much damage as possible. It is not a good idea to send in a Hog Rider simply to destroy a building, especially if it is the only building targeting unit available, as defeating Crown Towers becomes substantially more difficult. Spells or simply waiting out the lifetime of the building are more effective. The exception to this is an Elixir Collector placed in front of the King's Tower. If a Hog Rider placed at the bridge, he can destroy the Collector for a positive Elixir trade, though the damage from both Princess Towers will usually mean he does not survive to deal any damage to them. However, if the opponent sends in defending troops, it can be an opportunity to gain spell damage value. In a deck with several low-cost cards, it might be worth it to simply send the Hog Rider against one building. These decks shuffle their card rotation quick enough, that they will arrive to their next Hog Rider before the next building arrives in the opponent's card rotation. Long-ranged troops like Musketeer and Flying Machine can snipe those buildings, preserving some of the Hog Rider's health, possibly allowing it to get some Tower damage. When there are buildings placed in the middle to counter the Hog Rider, understanding the placement of the Hog Rider and the type of building placed can help the Hog Rider to bypass certain buildings. Passive buildings such as spawners and Elixir Collector have a larger hitbox than defensive buildings; which means that if a passive building was placed 3 tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, then it is impossible for the Hog Rider to bypass that placement as the Hog Rider will get pulled to that building. Defensive buildings have a smaller hitbox than a passive building, which means if that if a defensive building was placed three tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, a Hog Rider placed at the very left or right side of the Arena may be able to bypass it due to its smaller hitbox. If the player has a building already placed down in the center of the arena, and the opponent tries to bypass it with a Hog Rider at the edge of the arena, they can use certain air troops to push the Hog Rider towards the building as it jumps over the river, effectively denying the bypass attempt. They must be already hovering over the correct placement, as very quick reflexes are required to correctly perform this technique. For Bats, Skeleton Dragons, and Minion Horde, they should be placed right in front of the Hog Rider as soon as it is deployed. For Minions, Skeleton Barrel, Mega Minion, Flying Machine, Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Balloon, and Lava Hound, stagger the above placement one tile to the right if the Hog Rider is placed on the left side of the arena, and vice versa. They can also use ground troops to achieve the same result. Something like an Ice Golem deployed at the Hog Rider’s landing spot will obstruct his path and force him to go around the unit, which causes him to be closer to the building instead of the Crown Tower. The Hog Rider can kite Very Fast non-building targeting troops due to his own Very Fast speed and building only targeting if he is placed on the fourth tile from the bridge, slightly into the opposite lane. He can also stall grounded units when placed right at the bridge. He will pull them towards him while deploying, and then be untargetable by them when he jumps over the bridge. After landing, he will pull them back. This can be useful when the player needs to deal damage in the same lane they are defending. It will also help separate troops behind a tank in a large push. A Tornado placed on the second tile front of the player's King's Tower and staggered two tiles towards the Princess Tower will activate it without any damage dealt to the Princess Tower, helping them in defending future pushes. This can also be a method of mitigating all damage dealt to a Princess Tower, but doing this more than three times may result in the King's Tower's health being low enough to be targeted directly, opening up the possible threat of a back door three crown. A better alternative is to pull the Hog away from the Princess Tower into the attacking range of all three Crown Towers, which will negate all damage as long as none of them are already distracted A very powerful combo is the Hog Rider, the Musketeer, and the Valkyrie, typically referred to as the Trifecta. The Musketeer will defend against most troops, while the Valkyrie can protect her and the Hog Rider from swarms or high damage units. The Hog Rider is used to deal damage to the tower. This can be effectively countered by Lightning, one-shotting the Musketeer and severely damaging both the Valkyrie and Hog Rider. The Minion Horde is also effective, but the enemy can Zap them and the Musketeer will one-shot them all. Even if the Musketeer is defeated, the Hog Rider and Valkyrie will have enough time to severely damage the Tower. The Hog Rider should be placed behind the Valkyrie to give it a boost so that it stays in front of the Hog Rider, protecting it. A Hog Rider combined with a Goblin Barrel can be awkward for the opponent to defend against. Timing it so that the Hog Rider is tanking the tower shots for the Goblins is the most effective way to deal damage. However, a Barbarian Barrel can shut this down with minimal Tower damage for a positive Elixir trade, as long as the Goblin Barrel was placed directly on the Tower. Pairing the Hog Rider with the Balloon can deal devastating damage. If executed properly, the Hog Rider will act as a tank while the Balloon threatens to deal massive damage. The Hog Rider can also destroy any buildings attempting to slow down the combo. However, this combo is very vulnerable to swarms and anti-air cards as neither of the troops target anything but buildings. Additionally, they are easy to separate, due to the disparity in move speeds. Alternatively, the Hog Rider and the Balloon can be played in different lanes to spread the opponent's defenses thin. However, a building or Tornado can bring them back together for an easier defense. The Hog Rider can be paired with the Lumberjack as both a swarm bait and damage combo. It is a very fast combo with an extremely high damage output potential, so the enemy will likely try to counter it with a swarm. If this happens, use a spell like Arrows to render the opponent defenseless. If they manage to defeat the Lumberjack, the dropped Rage will make the Hog Rider even more dangerous than it normally is. A fast and deadly combination is the Hog Rider and Mini P.E.K.K.A. combo. Both units are fast but the Mini P.E.K.K.A. does much more damage and does not attack only buildings so the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can deal with troops like the Executioner and Musketeer. However, this combo can be defeated with swarms like Skeleton Army, which will defeat both of them since neither of them can deal area damage. They are also unable to target air troops, so the Minion Horde can stop this easily. A risky play is to deploy the Hog Rider at the bridge as soon as the match starts. If the opponent does not react fast enough, the Hog Rider will deal a significant amount of damage to the Princess Tower. This can also allow the player to quickly scout the opponent's deck if they happen to react to him fast enough.

i’m kinda disappointed with the number of deep sea skins i mean we only have 3… shark tooth colt, coral belle, and octofang. i rly expected more and although the bt21 skins r so cute, the summer seasons usually have a massive update with a ton of new skins related to that summer’s theme. one other very minor thing i think that brawl stars has deproved on is the brawl talk countdown music. i know this isn’t a very big deal, but the countdown music usually gets me hyped up and excited abt the brawl talk. i think the standard for it drastically dropped since the grom and fang brawl talk was released. definitely not my favourite summer update i’m sry supercell.

I have an incredibly inactive club where only like, 5 of the members do anything. It was hard enough to get to Mythic 2, but at least I get all the rewards for being active. That being said it now sounds like because of this update I am going to be getting less rewards from clubs because other people don’t want to play. Good luck to every consistent player with a shitty club. Edit: I’ve got like, 10 friends in the club, finding a club that high was a pain the first time, and getting a lower club to that high has gotten harder and harder, with the added stress of the people in THAT club losing interest. It’s not always as easy as just joining another club.

Since they didn’t mention anything about Penny’s attack splitting into five, maybe that will replace her “Balls of Fire” star power

I think that those 5 coins from penny's attack will be her new 2nd starpower since balls of fire is now a base kit

I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make an update where the feature I'm least excited for is the brawler.

penny i unironically think will be amazing, we all know projectile speed = large effect on brawlers like recently bo, was unusable and now i great lane. her range was shorten but thats fine she would be like a busted surge that doesnt need to get tier 3, kinda sad how i am more excited for an old brawler than the new one :V

I love the Penny rework, from what I can see, she will be really fun to play, because you will still need to be a bit good at the game with her, therefore it will feel rewarding playing, not like Edgar or other not much skill requiring brawlers. 10/10, it even FEELS like there are 2 brawlers rather than 1, anyone else agree?

This update has so much content packed into it to last the whole summer I really like how much supercell is striking the balance between new content and polishing established content... But still no sign of gears being reworked :(

Unless they rework Lil Helper the moment the update comes out (which I doubt), I'm swapping to base Penny because she seems sick! Also, max level Penny can do up to 7k PER SHOT with her regular attack... Add in the gadget and that's a Heist safe melter! Also, Sandy Koya is a GEM.

I was expecting MORE improvements than club league! I was expecting improvements towards progress, the game’s economy and most importantly,GEARS CHANGES! Unfortunately is just another skin dump update.

I don’t know if anyone else has caught this but, in pennys clip I think 8 bit got a speed buff, literally his only weakness is getting buffed

I think this Christmas skin is gonna be old penny since the last 3 were og versions fo brawlers I hope I predicted this right since I predicted the last time that after ricochet that Brock and dynamike were gone be the next ones

You know what would be a good event? A ten player robot boss fight. Imagine how chaotic it would be. Especially since insane 16 is currently impossible without bugs, it would make it slightly more possible with ten players.

Honestly, I really dropped my expectations for this update, but the update was actually above average over the previous ones

I think the star power has something to do with his attack. If you look closely, you can see that sometime his attack is like a more greenish color. I don't know if it's true, just a theory.

I wouldn’t have been upset if they didn’t refund gems for the sprays… I have almost all the sprays (beside the ones that just haven’t been in my shop yet) and that extra cost is just for getting it first

A very welcomed update! So much new good content. Penny is gonna be so much more fun to play and my bets are, she'll be annoying and good. But she deserves a bit of prime time now but the faster cannon is already looking so annoying. Great video Kairos!

I feel like this season is gonna be fantastic. I love the improvements to clubs and the penny remodel is amazing since I really liked playing penny before she became the worst brawler!

I can’t believe this update is much more underwhelming than I expected. 1) new map…. 2) new brawler 3) club quest 4) penny remodel 5) power league suggestion 6) skins…. 7) random mode…. 8) more events 9) wipeout thing… Next update is in October?? Most of the update feels like QOL or things we already have but changed in a SLIGHTLY different way

You can see in the clip that bibi(while blocked with otis super) supercharges her attack and gets faster because of the homerun starpower.

I’m happy about the new penny rework because I have her power 10 both star power both gadgets but I’m just wondering if when they change one of her star powers and gadgets I’ll get the new one by default, I hope so because my luck for gadgets and star powers is horrific

Otis is like Belle's grounded but actually better maybe? Penny buff could counter eve maybe? Also balls of fire damage will probably scale with brawlers level and charge super. Interested to see what Penny's new star power does. Hunters is just lone star. Mystery mode brings back memories from the 4th slot. Thanks KT for the breakdown even though you've got a lot going on. My main hope for the Penny rework was just completely redesigning her star powers and gadgets. I'm excited.

I might have a cool idea for Otis' starpower.... when his paintball don't hit a target you can see how they splatter on the ground, what if they reduce brawlers' speed when they walk over it. In my opinion he lacks some crowd control so this starpower makes sense (especially because at the end of his range they kinda scatter a little) . It would also allow him to hit his super more often when brawlers are slowed because I noticed that the projectile speed is pretty slow and missing it could reallllly suck. In my opinion it should be as fast as Belle's super but the starpower idea could compensate. Btw love you Kairos, you're pretty much my childhood hero🏛️💙
