vacuum/boost actuated cutouts would have been badass. they automatically open when your in boost then close when off the throttle or not in boost, so you don’t have to switch it over manually. check out loudvalves boost actuated cutouts

Sounds good, I really want to supercharge my 5.4L Expedition or squeeze more power out of it naturally airspirated, doing it up like a runner. Going to have bed liner paint, flares, wider stance, etc. Still got to keep it somewhat subtle because it's my daily driver. Drilled injectors, high flow intake. I'm running resonators off the headers w/ a single 3" off the Y pipe going into a Flowmaster outlaw, to a 3" dump. Sounds sick and I love the fact it will do rolling burnouts. ;) Eventually I want to do exhaust cutouts and get a tailpipe/ resonator on the back. It's a bit on the loud side for my taste especially when it rattles rib cages LOL!

Travis Piper The 5.4 is possibly the worst motor to make power on. The 3 valves are plagued with problems which will only be worsened when you start making power. If you want something fast, go buy a different vehicle.

This is a 2 valve, same engine that came with the vehicle. I'm not sure what the problems would be on the 3 valve besides the head gaskets and cam phaser. Honestly when your building an engine up you'd start with the head gaskets. I had considerations before swapping the engine to get the 4 valve (which would require some modifying to work with the old electronics) which everyone had luck with, but the 2 valve is the cheapest for part's and works well with just dropping in a mild cam. Their still bulletproof engines when done right. Mine is rebuilt so it's already got a better timing chain set and head gaskets.

Travis Piper But the moment you add boost, you'll be doing the famous shooting the spark plugs out of the heads that the 2vs do. Plus even with power adders they still don't make that much power. The only one worth a damn is the 4v and good luck finding one with low miles for a reasonable price. Just go buy a GM truck with a LQ9 and boost that. You'll be making more horsepower for a lot less than trying to make a 5.4 fast.

First, its a Lac! Long tail lights , signature! im glad GM brought them back after all these years. Second, fully loaded luxury SUV on 28's rob a lot of horses. It may not be the fastest twin turbo, but its pulling its weight and then some while looking good sitting comfortably. Shit's G as f***. Only thing missing now is interior sound

28's ain't robbing any horses. They barely weigh more than stock (just a couple pounds) and they really aren't too much bigger than the 22's....just less tire and more wheel. These are not gigantic chrome plated steel "Dub" wheels. They are 100% aluminum and lots of wide open spoke. Not heavy at all.
