It's amazing how easy you make it look. We struggle quite a bit with 1-1/4" and up! I'm curious how many lays and which strands do you exactly unravel to get the exact length of tails inside the ferrule, we usually cut them on thimble eyes.
Really wow in 1994 thru 2004 I rigged at lowerybrothers rigging center 6100 fourth street marrerro Louisiana all day long 60 hours a week 1/4 to 4-1/2 thimbles hawser thimbles 9 part gatorlaids 3 part triflex all size bridles .then coastal wire rope Houma 1/4 up to three inch then halo manufacturing of 3 inch on internet u might of 2-1/4 at that much might !u can't carry my spike
@@ksudo121473 UR A LIAR AND YUR MOTHER DRESSES U FUNNY , I’ll carry your spike , MY SPIKE, ur 5lb hammer & my 20lb 1 swing & do ur rope faster AND WITH no wastage ….. & that’s 3 lay and put them thimbles in to , TIGHT wit no TABLE & NO HOT STRANDS EITHER …
Wow amazing!!! The way I was taught to splice a Flemish thimble eye is way harder and I can't seem to splice bigger then 1-1/8 ....your way of marrying it in the middle looks alot more easier with bigger cable ...I'd love to learn that way !!! Cudos my fellow splicing brother
@@ksudo121473it doesn't waste any wire rope and it's not faster, you still take 3,except bend over the side with the core and tuck the tails from the top, not the center. That way you can lay the strands in a more natural fashion instead of fighting them uphill from the center.
