Too cool. Thats a good bike. Just picked up a 2021 but after I wear her out I will probably try a 22 or newer. Excited about that one

Just picked up a 2018 yz125 bike has 60 trail hours already ordered oem a kit debating on running it longer has 160-180 psi on compression
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 11 месяцев назад
Congrats on the 2018! I would do the piston as soon as you can. Its not the compression, its more about the piston. Old pistons especially stock cast pistons can break after so many hours. If it was a forged piston like wiseco I would say your safe. But most likely its a stock piston which is cast and not really that strong.

@@UpAllNight91 yeah bikes all stock besides full fmf I picked up the other parts. It had 60 light trail hours from a 18 year old that weighed 120lbs. Picked up a Boysen rad and apex head

What’s your heat cycle process mate? Vids are great keep them coming on the yz125 love from sunny Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
Thanks man!! Appreciate it! I like to do 3 good heat cycles. Letting it get fully warm on the stand. Then cooling off before next cycle. Checking fluid levels along the way. Then on the first ride I make it a shorted ride, about 8 minutes or so and avoid long full throttle runs. Come back in check the fluids again. If alls well then shes good to go!

How does migrating oil happen if oil is mixed with gas?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 9 месяцев назад
When the fuel is atomized or turns into a vapor it drops the oil out of it. I made a video on this if you are interested here is a link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VovqIRO1j-c.htmlsi=MQpS0kJ4FggVmQVN

What does blow by mean does it mean the rings are worn?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
Yes. Compression is blowing by the rings.

@@UpAllNight91 so u can tell if underneath the ring is black right?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
Yes. How much black under the rings tells me how good the piston and rings have been sealing off the combustion and heat

Hey brother! I hope you are well! Hey I was curious I am having some problems finding a top end for my 22’ yz 125 I know you have done one in the past. You did a wiseco. How. Did you find it? Is a 21 ok? Some websites have them listed together. Wiseco has a call for info. I am in Costa Rica and have a freind coming down and I need to make sure I get the right one.
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
Hello. As far as I know the 22 piston is surely different than the 2021. The wiseco piston part number for the 2005 to 2021 is 845M05400 and the part number for the 2022 to 2023 899M05400 Hope that helps

144 will surely get you more power , but to get that arm ripping torque you will need to just go to a 250

How long to you keep your bikes before selling them and buying a new one?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 2 года назад
I try to only run them to 200 hours or less before replacing. More so on the 4 strokes. But with the current economy and stuff I'm looking at maybe going over 200 hours on the smokers.

It was. Now its at 265 and still only measured 1mm left and right on the upper end of the rod. My 2021 is at 75 hours and it shows more wear than hers. Guess she needs to get in that throttle more!

@@UpAllNight91 oh ok how many hours normally does it take for that long?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
@@sethmacgillivary1281 thats depends on the rider and conditions, as well as premix ratio used and how well the bike is tuned in (using the correct octane and jetting for the mods and things like that). A slower rider. A crank can last almost as long as the bike if everything is done well. But a very fast guy who stays full throttle lap after lap will surely wear things out much sooner. Especially if the bike is ran lean on premix for this fast rider. But I do expect at least 150 hours out of a crank for myself.
@JR-ut1yx
@JR-ut1yx Год назад
How many hours for a top end would you suggest for a A rider?
@UpAllNight91
@UpAllNight91 Год назад
For a A rider it can range from 10 to 20 hours. I would start with 15 hours. If the piston faired out well at 15 then try 20 next time. If it didn't fair out well then try 10 hours on next piston. If it looks perfectly due, not past due, just due then stick with 15 hours
