Beautiful. You can be rightly proud of how she turned out. This should have had far more views and comments. I've recently taken more of an interest in modelling. I am at the age when I have more time on my hands! I was searching for the Revell kit of the Bounty as a first go at a sailing ship for many, many years so came across your build. In my search for a kit I am also considering the Revell 1/96 HMS Beagle (kit number 05458). Do you have any experience of this kit and do you think there would be any reason why one would be a better choice over the other. Best wishes from the UK. Oh, and I've subbed!
Thank you! I’m Kevin from South Korea. Frankly, I haven’t built a Revell Beagle kit yet, but it would be a great choice. In my experience, It seems to have a proper size, price, and moderate level of difficulty to build. In addition, It’s more attractive because of the ship on which Charles Darwin rode. These days I’m in the process of building a Heller kit, 1/200 Royal Louise. I think this kit is much harder to make than Revell kits. I hope you enjoy your happy free time!
Great job! Only criticism I have is that the shrouds that form the ratlines would have been attached to the chainplates on the hull via deadeyes. I don't know whether Revell gave you the wrong instructions in this cae (which is more likely than not!).
In fact, before I built this ship, I'd never known what's a deadeye. I've realized it during this work. I hope to build a better ship next time. Thank you!
