when this excavator showed up at my buddies door, it was oil-soaked, so i cleaned it up for him and had to adjust the pressure valve and change the servo channels to match the functions of the komatsu and reverse a couple of the channels on the radio for him. other than that, he decided he wanted a plane instead and gave it to me for all the work i've done for him over the years and this machine runs great to this very day. its nice having very rich friends who are generous & i appreciate it.
im using the same battery in both, its a 5000mah 12v 10 c cell. it powers the 4200xl for about 45 min or so. i traded the cat345 for a wheel loader, there was no need to keep it, the 4200 rocks!!!!
the cat is a kit you build and costs $6,900 from garden trucking and the 4200 is from bought at rc4wd for $2,600 and it arrives built, you just need batteries.
I watched a lot of your 4200XL videos a few years ago prior to purchasing my 4200XL. They helped at that time. I ended up removing most of the hydraulics and electronics. I have almost all of the replacement parts in a box waiting for the transplant. I might paint it. I haven't decided yet.... Too many projects on the project list.....
yes, i can do a video on the radio and show the machine moving as i use it. im using the same radio as it comes with. i will try to get that uploaded in a couple days for you.
I see what you mean with the 4200XL having more bite force in its arms.Personally i will still choose the CAT over the 4200XL because the bite force in the CAT is proportional to the engine size, hence looks more realistic when in action.Notice how the 4200 has so much bite force that it pulls the body with each grab. That fact alone makes my prefer the CAT model , not to mention the nicer, better proportion and smoother arm action.I guess each man to his own. Thanks for the demo videos. Keep it up.
I know this is 10 yr ago. But if it pulls itself, that means the hydraulic is powerful. It's just need more weight to keep it from moving. The cat doesn't pull itself cause it's weaker.
you can watch this machine dig on my channel to see if it works as well as you thought it would. the only problems i had was its a little too powerful and ripped and broke its bucket up and wore the dipper bushings and they are kind of sloppy now, but other than that it ROCKS!!! check out my channel to see if you agree or disagree. i hope you enjoy the vids.
I HAVE READ THAT THE 4200XL IS NOT THAT HIGH QUALITY. HYRAULICS ARE LEAKING AND THE ELECTRONICS ARE FAILING. IT WOULD NOT SUPPRISE ME. CHINA HAS NEVER BEEN KNOW FOR QUALITY IN ANYTHING THEY PRODUCE. HAVE YOU HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOURS.
