Another use for these heads is stealth. Wearing a mob head makes mobs of the same type only see you from half the usual distance iirc. It makes zombies so much easier to deal with and combined with sneaking and strategic hiding behind blocks allows you to pull off some "must have been the wind" level stuff. Not as OP as invisibility potions, but more reusable and cheaper in the long run. Lightning rods are SO much easier than tridents to get, now you can get a skull midgame if you have the patience for it. Just gotta get a creeper and a mob trapped in a boat and set up a piston to push a block over the lightning rod once it fires (otherwise subsequent strikes will kill the subjects). Wait for thunder, and voila! No lategame items needed.
Title: EASIEST way to get mob heads. At 4:15 in the video: "as you guys can see, this isn't the easiest..." lol. To make it easier, place a boat, lure creeper into boat, use trident with channeling to charge creeper. Place another boat right beside it. Lure mob into second boat. Then use flint and steel to ignite creeper. Collect mob head.
4:44 " get the zombie a little bit low " do you mean skeleton lol, oh and nice tutorial, i already knew this but i forgot about it 2 day's ago so i watched this to remember
if you are in the update that has lightning rods made from copper make a 3x3 pit with a lightning rod in the middle botom and suround the outer part of the 2 block deep pit with trapdoors and make a staircase off to the side with 1 block keeping the chamber closed lure a creeper in then break the block out when the creeper is charged during a storm
