This song debuted during the 1975-76 season, when the 76ers experienced a renaissance of sorts thanks to George McGinnis. After four terrible seasons, the 76ers took the league by surprise. At one point they had the best record in the NBA. The Sixers finished 46-36 and lost to the Buffalo Braves two games to one in the first round of the playoffs. From 1976 to 1987, the 76ers went deep in the playoffs every season and went to the NBA finals in 1977, 1980, 1982, and 1983.
Richard D'Ambrosio except '84 when the Nets bounced them in 1st round. (An ABA franchise/team originally). That's ok...Doctor got them 2 rings in 74 and 76.
I went to Spectrum from 1972-80 and this song was a cool warmup. Back then you were able to hang near warm up line. they were rock stars-dawkins, McGinnis, erving, free. Great era
Joel Embiid = 70 points against San Antonio spurs tonight! Whatttt! 😂😮 Looks like the nurse gave the team a boost of energy to get the winning streak going!
Gotta confess. I'm from Spain, never been in the States. I love basketball, not weird since Spain is a great basketball nation, but never had an NBA team. Loved Iverson but not enought to become a 76er. But then something happened, Hinkie. He defied the NBA, it's rules, it's flaws. And through them, him, the 76ers and Philadelphia defied the NBA: I loved it. When on board inmediatly. Of course being overseas all those defeats didn't seem much. i woke up and find the results. But I followed closely. And slowly but surely, after years of following it, The Process it's starting to flourish. I love it. And to all the philadelfians I want to say you derserve it. You trusted it even in the lowest of the lows. TTP. Viva Sam Hinkie!
I am french and I love this song! My big bro used to live in Philly, I remember when I visited him, we were together in his car listening to this 76ers song driving in the city !!! Great moments 😀
Harden debuted with 27 points and 12 asts. Embiid scored 34 points Maxey scored 28 points. Sixers made a season-high 19 threes tonight. Sixers scored 133 points on the road. Clap your hands for Philadelphia 76ers!
@@brian_brennan42 at least we in Philadelphia can give you guys credit for forcing the New York/New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets to sell Dr. J's contract to the Sixers in order for them to play in the post-merger NBA.
I play this every morning for my kids after the Sixers win. It’s the greatest sports team anthem ever written. Infectious. And this video is great too. We need an updated version after we get the next rings!
Here for our boys after game 5 vs the Knicks with our backs against the wall. Facing elimination and need to win out, but I believe in our boys. Squad, let’s celebrate this banger some more this season. Get out there and kick some New York ass. You can do this, but make sure you enjoy yourselves while doing it.
Not even a sixers fan. Im a Houston fan. Heard this playing after Harden’s debut and I loved it! 😂 It pains me to see Harden thrive in Philly, but I’m happy he’s in a good place to win a chip. Take good care of him, Philly. 🤧
Oh trust me, us Sixers fans are so grateful for what he's done to open up our offense! He was one of my favorite players in the league even before we got him!
When i hear this song makes me so proud to be a Sixers fan, especially after a win,it never get old, makes me think about all the great players and history behind this team.
I’m all way from Cleveland watching the 76er’s on NBA League Pass beat the Toronto Raptors 114-99 today 11-2-23. Heard this song for the first time because I was watching the actual Philadelphia local broadcast. This is the greatest team song I have ever heard. I immediately went to RU-vid hear it again and read the comments. 🎯💯🎶
Yep, my dad and his friends wrote and recorded this song in 1975 when it was used frequently. We were at the game last night against the Bobcast talking to one of owners, and they are in the works of making it a regular part of home games at Wells Fargo center. We're glad everyone enjoys the tune, it's definitely one of a kind.
Here just bcuz I'm a Philadelphian.....I'm not even a B Ball fan , but I love my city & its history. I think this is the perfect Philadelphia song for some reason 🤗.
Was just at tonight’s game. Maxey dropped 50 for the very first time with many more to come I’m sure. Sixers are 8-1 with new coach nick nurse and are first in the east. LETS GO 76ERS!
Harden is the 1st Sixers player ever with +25 pts, +15 ast, 5 stl and +5 reb. He finished the game with 29 PTS, 10 REB, 16 AST and 5 STL. Embiid finished the game with 37 pts and 4 blk! HERE. THEY. COME.
The (FINALLY) packed house was going absolutely nuts when this beauty came on tonight in the final seconds to finish off the Wiz in the opening round. One of my favorite moments of the game.
