That lady or a guy in that gray car after that Norfolk Southern train went by she stopped to look at there’s a new trans coming by. She’s a smart driver. I wish we can get more drivers like him or her shares to him or her.
Quintuple train meet 5 trains in one meet that's amazing wwot incredible awesome amazing at the same time another fun and entertaining video with a bunch of awesome trains DPU Alright Roll it
Super great train meets 5 in a row is just tottaly awesome. Those tall cube box cars are cool also i seen those new UP ones at the Western ave yard also.
Another great video from the hardest working railfan on the Tube. Really liked the very first train, the NS coming around the curve at you. You were spot on with that footage, what a great view.
I love seeing the whole train in stead of prices of it , I appreciate that you telling me where you are at and telling me where they are going, you need a trypoid that would help your arms out and a pair of binoculars would help you out also that's what I use to see if I want to record it for the sound,
yeah they're going to run heavy til they know if the strikes on or not i'm surprised NS ain't running heavier than they normally do! i figured they'd been 2 NS in that 5!!
Awesome quintuple meet with the DPU at the end then showing on the other side of the bend with those ballast cars then to follow up with the DPU at the end! Mike it is so cool to watch these videos. I always enjoy your videos keep them rollin!
0:25 We are at the Norfolk Southern tracks at Temple Road on the west end of Dunkirk, New York on 29 November 2022. Norfolk Southern train #265 is coming around the curve after going through Dunkirk, New York. At 1:06 Norfolk Southern train #265 hits Temple Road. At 2:36 Norfolk Southern passes Temple Road. 3:08 You start to turn north on Temple Road to walk over to the CSX tracks to see if there are any CSX trains coming toward Temple Road. 3:45 Y look west on the CSX tracks from Temple Road and we see the headlight of an approaching CSX train. You turn to the east to look at the signals at CSX Control Point 42 which is just to the east of Temple Road. You move your camcorder up the signal mast, and we see that the top signal is green for the CSX train that is approaching us from the west on track #2. You zoom in CSX train #M268 on 19 November 2022 and we watch as the train comes closer and closer to Temple Road. At 5:39 CSX train #M368 hits Temple Road. At 6:15 a former Amtrak Express boxcar appears in the train. This car currently has CMHX reporting marks. These reporting marks belong to CarMath, Inc. which is a railroad equipment supplier headquartered in Brandon, South Dakota. At 7:48 CSX train #M368 passes Temple Road. You zoom in on the end of CSX train #M368 as we watch it continue east around the CSX Milepost 41 curve. 9:59 You look west on the CSX tracks, and we see the headlight of another eastbound train in the distance. This train is about three miles away which puts it close to the CSX Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York. You turn off the camcorder rather than continue to film the train as it comes closer to us. At 10:31 you turn off the camcorder as CSX train #B741 is now closer to us. At 10:42 CSX train #B741 hits Temple Road. This CSX train is powered by a Union Pacific engine and a Norfolk Southern engine. The presence of a Union Pacific engine on the point of this train would not be unusual since CSX picks up this train at the Union Pacific Railroad’s Proviso Yard in Melrose Park, Illinois. This train of loaded ethanol cars originated somewhere in Iowa on the Union Pacific Railroad. However, the presence of a Norfolk Southern engine on a CSX train is a little unusual. This train will terminate at Linden, New Jersey. At 12:03 CSX train #B741 passes Temple Road. 12:17 As we continue to watch CSX train #N741 continue east, CSX train #I009 suddenly appears along side CSX train #B71 on track #1. At 2:33 CSX train #I009 hits Temple Road. At 13:28 CSX train #I009 passes Temple Road. 13:43 As you are zooming in on the end of CSX train #I009 on its westward journey to Bedford Park, Illinois, we see the headlight of another eastbound CSX train on track #2. You turn off the camcorder after we watch CSX trains #I009 and I158 do a long-distance meet. At 15:46 you restart the camcorder as CSX train #I158 comes closer to Temple Road. At 16:26 CSX train #I158 hits Temple Road. At 17:46 a end of train DPU appears on train #I158 and the train passes Temple Road at 17:48. We watch CSX train #I158 as it continues around the Milepost 41 curve. At 19:28 CSX train I158 disappears. At 20:11 we get a good view of the CSX defect detector parts in the in the middle of the two sets of tracks at CSX Milepost 42.6 as you are looking west on the CSX tracks. At 20:16 you turn to the east to focus on the CSX Control Point 42 signals to show us that all the lights on the two signal masts are red. 20:48 We are at the CSX Milepost 41 curve looking west. You put a graphic on the screen that tells us that we are looking at the east end of the CSX Milepost 41 curve. We had been looking at the west end of this curve when we were looking east from Temple Road in the previous portions of this video. However, there is something different about this portion of the video. The last five trains that we were watching past Temple Road on 19 November 2022 and there were no leaves on the trees at Temple Road. Look at the trees in this portion of the video. The trees are lush with green leaves. That is because this portion of the video was taken on 16 May 2022. You had to got back into the archives vault to find a video that you took at the CSX Milepost 41 curve because during the spring and summer months you were spending most of your train watching at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York which is about four miles to the east of the Milepost 41 curve. At 20:52 CSX train #I158 appears on track #2 on the Milepost 41 curve. At 21:05 the engineer of CSX train #I158 gives you a short horn salute. As the lead engine passes you notice that there is something written on the side of the cab nose on CSX engine #5107. The officially placed writing on the side of the cab reads “The W. Thomas Rice Special”. You commented that you had not seen this CSX engine in a while. At 21:47 CSX train #I158 passes. We continue to watch the train as it keeps going around the east portion of the CSX Milepost 41 curve to go up on the west end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. At 22:46 you zoom in on some side unloading ballast cars that hold some large stone rip rap that will be dumped along the tracks near Silver Creek, New York. The cars are parked here because there is no siding closer to Silver Creek, New York to park the cars. This siding was used to park coal trains that would be taken to the Niagara Power & Light Company’s Dunkirk, New York coal fired electric generating plant. The coal fired generating plant has been shuttered for at least five years. 23:06 We are at the CSX tracks at Berry Road in Pomfret, New York on 4 June 2022. At 23:09 CSX train #I169 hits Berry Road. At 23:46 a mid-train DPU appears on CSX train #I169. At 25:17 CSX train #I169 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on CSX train #I169 as it continues toward the 59th Street CSX yard in Chicago, Illinois where it will terminate. At 25:58 CSX train #I169 passes the Lakes Road crossing. 16:16 You Outro begins and at 30:46 the Outro ends. Thank you for documenting these trains on 19 November 2022, 16 May 2022 and 4 June 2022 in the Dunkirk, New York area. As soon as the video opened with Norfolk Southern train #265 making an appearance at 0:25, I knew we were at the Temple Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York. That location is the only place on the Norfolk Southern tracks in the Dunkirk, New York area where Norfolk Southern comes around a curve like that. I was wondering how w you were going to catch five trains at the Temple Road crossing as I started to watch the beginning of this video. I was thinking that we would see more than one Norfolk Southern train in this video. I was imagining the possibility of a Norfolk Southern train and two CSX trains as a possible triple meet with all three trains passing Temple Road at the same time. (Post 4 December 2022 at1913 CST.)
Thats awesome 5 in a row, you timed that just right. also did it take a long time for you to remember all those symbols? I have i dont know say 10 to learn here and i've only learned 1 this year, its easy, an IM. only one here.
Do you have a link to the current NS train symbols? The one I use says 264 runs form the 47th Street Yard in Chicago to Mechanicsville, NY. The symbol then changed to Pam Am Railways MOAY, Mechanicsville, NY to Ayer, MA. When was Pan Am Railways symbols dropped. Pan Am is now a subsidiary of CSX.
