This is the only real quality video I was able to get that day out at Castrol Raceway tracking my Rx8 turbo Rx8. Extremely surprised how well the cooling system I engineered worked out! Takes 2 laps to get up to operating temp, even with the top mount turbo.
Really happy with how well it performed. I ran spring wastegate pressure at 7psi the entire day considering I'm now tracking a car with Twice the power and torque with different powerbands vs when it was NA. I wanted to get used this whole new vehicle first before i started leaning into it hard.
Kicking myself in the ass reviewing some of this footage as i should have dropped down a gear for a few of the corners, but when the power comes on from the extremely quick spool up, it comes online to max spool within a second of pressing on the throttle with the EFR turbo. Having that happen mid apex can get sketchy.
Next sesh out I'll be playing with duty cycle and gain percentages relative to boost pressure. my plan is to run full boost at 10-11 psi vs the 7psi during this video. also will be running a e30/e50 blend with a full radium fuel setup including surge tank w/ a 450 112psi Walbro, FPR that references boost/vacuum and fuel setup rated for e85. no more fuel cut of psi drop!
Also will be running a full rear Megan racing spherical metal bushing setup after talking to kyle mohan and what has been using over the years.
2021 track season cant come any sooner!
