"And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle [is] the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands." And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine..." -1 Samuel 17:47-48
The two books of Samuel form a basic foundational study in the Old Testament. An understanding of this basic history is essential, not only to understanding the Old and New Testament, but in gaining a valid perspective of eschatological issues as well.
This study contains 16 hours of verse-by-verse teachings.

25:38 Not sure, but I think Chuck made a mistake with this assumption. He said because Samuel said "tomorrow you and your sons are with me" (1Sa 28:19) means Saul is in heaven. However, that may not be so. Before the cross, people went to She'ol of which there were 2 divisions per Yesho'ah (Jesus Luke 16:19-30). So folks were "together" but still separated. This could mean Samuel and Jonathan could be in Abrahams bosom side of She'ol (Luk 19:22) while Saul (who has shown nothing that says he was saved or had faith in his later years) could be in the suffering side of She'ol (Luk 19:23). What do you think?

I agree that at Saul's death he was in Sheol, which side would have been determined by God alone, but I tend to think he was on the side of the rich man in Christ's parable...in torment. Today "Abraham's Bosom" is empty because of Christ's Resurrection and ascension
