I notice our kettle gets limescale. Do any distillerys use hard or soft water ? Interesting point ?

@blackdogie and don't forget that the new make spirit is usually cut down from about 70% to about 62% before going in the barrels, so even cask strength whisky isn't 'pure spirit'

Its about as likely as homeopathy, but the distillers will continue to be non-committal as it adds to the mystique.
