google your questions, it's usually much more reliable than asking commenters. For cooling, there's pickup underneath the boat, placement depends on design of hull. For propulsion as in a jet config versus a prop, the inlet for the jet is inline with the exit, imagine a tube with an impeller and you've pretty-much imagined a jet pump
They say when you pass 600hp it has a different sound- that is true. When you pass 950- it has a whole different sound - especially when you are using zoomies and blower surge 🤘🤘🤘 sounds fuckin awesome in earbuds!!
They idle like that because of the action of the blower pulley system, its normal at low idle, go to the drags and you'll hear the same idle surge on the blown (671 style) pro mods
that cackle! that's the one reason electric motors will NEVER replace internal combustion engines in my mind. No matter how much more efficient, or powerful they actually are.
I get that it's mechanical injection, but what keeps the air fuel ratio in check? Is there some kind of boost reference going to the fuel pump on the camshaft? Does the throttle cable also control fuel to the injection, like the rail in a diesel injector pump or something?
No boost reference. Tha barrel valve is connected to the shaft the throttle blades are on via a linkage. The afr is controlled by jets that allow a certain amount of fuel to return to the pump supply side vs being injected into the intake air.
Try more like 40k. I have a law Larson built blown 572 in my '72 Howard vdrive. Dual dominators on race gas not alky. Ran me $38k makes 1060@6psi 1755@28psi. Horsepower isn't cheap
First and foremost, boat engines are different because they are under a constant high load. That is why hi-perf boat engines needs to be way overbuilt compared to car engines. This is also why boat engines make less power and have short rebuild times. Cam choices are often limited too, if the exhaust is wet, due to water reversion problems with an agressive LSA. The engine uses a belt driven water pump that sucks water into the engine, via the drive or a hull mounted pickup on the transom.
hey cp guy, you ever build an alochol motor, doesnt need an intercooler notice the frost on the blower and hat and with 25lbs of boost 9.5:1 comp and a whole lot of head work the #,s are pretty accurate, this same motor same heads blower cam everything dynoed at over 1200. As for the droop the boat didnt seem to like it it has a placediverter staight snoot on it now, the drop for some reason slowed it down as for the belt 3413 guy is right on the money
Josh.. the cam doesn't make a blown motor lope like that.. It's caused by too much fuel at idle. If he adjusts the fuel a little leaner, the engine will smooth out.
So help me understand, is that one of those greenhouse conscious boats, powered by batteries and an electric motor? For some reason, I'd thought it'd smaller and quieter. Hey, f'n sweet boat!
Is there a certain limit to how much a jet pump can handle ??? I mean, after a certain point don't you pretty much have to go to a prop ?? I'm asking cause I really don't know much about it, not trying to be a smartass here.

@72Roushboy yea, i got the two names confused, jet boat performance was our first mech. and he messed our boat up, now these guys are, and ever since we've taken it there its been alot better...
All these negative comments are enough to irritate me just as much is these morons that I call jet fleas. You're just jealous that you don't have the money to make a bad ass set up like this and because you're running around in a stock Bayliner boat with a 305 Chevy and your wife probably won't let you spend any money to make it any better this boat is awesome and I would give probably both nuts to have it
Jason Snyder I know right, all these people getting upset. If that guy wants to mount that engine on a stand and watch it idle while he drinks beer thats his business. I'm so sick of people thinking their opinion is the only one that counts
@beiser034 - Can't wait to see the K when you get it finished. My Buddy (Hullshot on PB) just bought a Beiser about a month ago to build a K. I think the boat was called Revenge. Looking forward to seeing that one hit the water as well.
