One of the all time great wild card games. Legends on both sides, just an remarkable final minutes of this game. The Rice non fumble thankfully would be the last controversy before instant replay returned and created an entire set of new ones.
As a packers fan as much as it hurts watching the Jerry Rice fumble “non fumble” this was still an all time great game and packers playing prevent defense that whole final drive prevented them from winning great play by Steve and T.O
Prevented them from winning? They caused what should have been a game winning fumble. They dropped a game winning Int a few plays later. Ultimately they forced SF into one play from the 28 yard line. The defense worked exactly as it should have. Put them at a 95+% for the final play of the game.
@@AmirKhan-yv8jm no, they weren’t “due.” The Niners should have lost this game off that fumble. The Packers made the way that deserved to give them the win and got robbed. That’s a fact, no matter how many comments you make trying to say that the Niners deserved it.
@@AmirKhan-yv8jmthey would’ve easily manhandled the falcons and possibly upset the Vikings in the NFC championship game. Then Favre would’ve gotten revenge against the Broncos in XXXIII
Everything about this was classic. T.O.'s legend was born on this day. Pat and John were classic too. Pat in mundane yet classic voice. Madden Going Nuts. This one had a little bit of everything
I’d say they’d probably win. 1998 falcons were arguably the worst 14-2 team in nfl history next to 06 chargers / 19 ravens (as they only beat 3 teams with a winning record all year), and got incredibly lucky in the playoffs with both Hearst injury and Anderson miss / Cunningham fumble right before halftime in the nfc championship game
@@chrisuncleahmad I meant the 98 Falcons only beat 3 teams with winning records. One was over the Niners who had crushed them earlier in the year. Another was the 9-7 Patriots, and the last one was a Dolphins team that had nothing to gain in the last week of the season
Packers really should have more super bowl wins how good they have been since the 90's they always have a chance and in 30 years they only got 2 if they would have beat broncos and had 3 i would feel a whole lot better
Yeah the SB 32 loss, the 2008 championship game loss, the 2012 giant upset, the 2015 collapse against Seattle, and the last 2 years have been their best chances
Not only was it The San Francisco 49ers🏈 most Defining and Spectacular Moment Of The 90’s Decade But also The Very last Game for Mike Holmgren as The 🏈Packers Head Coach And While also The Closing Months Of Steve Young’s Career with The San Francisco 49ers And also The Beginning Of The End Of The SF Giants Legacy At CandleStick Park as well Included !!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
Considering how many calls went in the Packers favor in the playoff games in 95, 96, and 97 you should be thankful that GB escaped with 3-1 record vs. SF during that time.
@@jmill3147 in the 97 championship game 2 touchdowns were overturned against 49ers a fumble recovery and jj stokes be pushed out of bounce which at that time were a push out would still give the receiver the touchdown
Stop whining about this call, the SF 49ers were due for a call to finally go their way! And even if they win this game they would not have advanced to their 3rd consecutive SB LOL! 😂
