I am way behind in watching because I have been doing elder care in an internet-free zone but I am glad I waited to watch this one with no interruptions. I was interested in the china cabinet especially because it looks like the full-size one that my great-grandfather built for my grandmother. You have so much patience for the details. I sympathize with you about weathering the house. Ara always seems fearless when she ages things but they always look so good. So do your house and the furnishings.

Old Victorian houses with dumb waiters here in the US, the dumb waiters are a gap between the walls of the house, with a sort of elevator for trays of food to go up and down from the kitchen to other rooms. I've never heard of a dumb waiter that just looks like a shelf or rack.
