Great build, congratulations, although a little bit overweathered to my taste to the point the yellow panels faded too much. After all, these planes came brand new from the factory some day. Thanks for sharing the tips and video.
Great job Mr resurrection. Your voice over explaining the process with all the helpful tips n tricks is spot on and one of the best. Not to forget the use of the word "Finagle" in a modelling video put the cherry on the top n adds a touch of class. Happy modelling Sir
Nice, very helpful, look so easy...i like this landing gear wire, I use fishing string different type for it, painting work is awesome, especially shading and weathering...I will not use Tamiya's decals and camouflage but some of Eastern front JG 54
If you are going to paint some area yellow, first undercoat with white. It will look brighter and you will use less paint. Most bf109 and fw 190 fighters had soft edge camouflage. Early 109 had solid line camo. That varied from one aircraft type to another. Also it varied with different manufacturers. Same thing with the colors. There is a ton of variation. The one you used is called type 5. Three types of gray. RLM numbers 74,75 and 76. Normally there would be more contrast between the colors on the top part. I believe the whole pre and post shading is overestimated. I dont do it unless i find photos of an actual aircraft with it. But in the overall your model looks really good.
Nice one. Well done. I've recently built this model as well. Over the years I've become a fan of various weathering effects. I've found an ammo mig airplane dust effects set I quite like for landing gear that's easy and looks great. For canopies, I've converted to liquid masks. It's easy to apply and remove with a toothpick. To avoid sharp mask lines, I keep my masking putty in a rolled pencil shape and am mindful not to spray inside the roll... if that makes any sense at all. It makes a soft natural-looking edge. Cheers and model on.
I almost think tapeing 1 edge then painting the liquid mask on waiting till it dries then peel the tape, then do each edge like that would be the safest and sharpest way to go about canopies. But... who had time for that lol. I got my first aftermarket montex mask Las week we will see how it goes! Model on!
