The Stripes you have seen on Pictures is because before they shipped the Aircrafts over the Ocean, they have sealed the Panel Lines, to avoid Corrosion, which could happen from the very salty Water.
Nice work. I believe the lighter lines on the panel were by shipping tape. The aircraft were transported by sea and the tape was put on to prevent corrosion between the panels and getting inside the machine. You seem to have pulled it off (excuse pun!) Nicely.
My girlfriend bought me this for Christmas. I've never built a model like this before so I'm a total noob. 💀I bought all the tools but I'm not wanting to mess it up because of how thoughtful, expensive, and very _detailed_ it seems. So, I figured I'd check out RU-vid to get some idea of what I should do. Thanks for the video man.
Terrific job on the 38...really enjoyable video filled with tips/techniques and great commentary. You must be very happy with the final result...it looks amazing this side of the screen. Apparently the lines around the nose and engines etc were created by tape (not sure which) to prevent salt corrosion of internal components when the planes were shipped overseas.
That was a absolutely outstanding finish on the P-38, i have this kit in my stash and hope to get onto the build soon, bext regards from Australia 👌👍👌👍
It's 487 in usd. I've been saving up for it. But man o man is it big. Like my 1:200 HMS Rodney. I build entirely too big models. I wish they made a 1:48 Anotov An-225.
