'The Slaying of the Corona Dragon' was penned and read by Journalist and Broadcaster David Dimbleby at his home in spring 2020. He wrote it for his grandchildren, as they adjusted to a world isolated by Corona Virus and no school. David very generously agreed to read this as part of our Al Hakawati (The Storyteller) series, to inspire and entertain while people are in isolation at home. Huge thanks to him and Nick MacDonald for editing. We hope you enjoy every word of this fabulous story.
If you do, please consider making a donation to the Hands Up Foundation - www.handsupfoundation.org/appeals/stories. COVID-19 is a threat we are all having to face. In Syria and on its borders, it has the potential to devastate vulnerable Syrian communities living in makeshift camps and shelters. The severe lack of appropriate medical clinics and staff means that the health system is simply not equipped to deal with an outbreak. Hands Up funds vital health and education services in northern Syria and in Lebanon. The team at our Primary Health Clinic to the east of Aleppo is working hard to prepare for COVID-19 cases, while still looking after the surrounding community off 10,000 people.
