I truly enjoyed the learning here. I thank the Lord for the fullness of the Gospel, for the blessing of the come follow me programme and for the Saints who consecrate all they have to helping us grow in the Lord. May our gracious father in heaven bless all of us even more as we continue to serve Him.
Another good lesson and principles I learned of this topic, every lesson taught from you brethren I always listen and ponder the very important insights,,thanks brethren.
Thank you for your insightful and wonderful discussion. Also thanks to Scripture Central for making these discussions available. Everyone’s work is appreciated.
I appreciate you teaching me things that I don't fully understand. It's great having teachers, like yourselves, helping me to be enlightened by the words of God/Jesus Christ.
Such a beautiful presentation. I love the whole discussion on Paul, and I love how Paul used his life as a point of reference. It's remarkable that he was able to use and teach his life as his message. I love what was said about patterns. I love the counsel Paul gave to Timothy about fixing the wards of Ephesus. My all time favourite discussion in this presentation was on the role of women. It's really nice how this was put, and what all the leaders said. I related most with the words of Dallin H Oaks, because of the non LDS religious schools I was raised in. The messages about Eve were very negative, there was alot of repimanding of her in the religious classes that we had to take. Oh how nice it is to hear the Prophets speak truth and set the record straight. Thank you always Bro Halverson and Bro Griffin for being the coolest teachers ever. God bless everyone at SC ❤️.
I can feel my heart being softened toward my brother in law who is clearly hard to love. Instead of justifying rudeness back, I’m slowly getting to where I can see this as an opportunity to show kindness. It really is a work in progress
Thank for your comments on genealogy. Genealogy blesses my life with the feeling of belonging because I was adopted and came from a situation of 9 children being abandoned by birth parents (origins I would rather keep hidden). Some of my birth siblings didn't get adopted and my gratitude for the tender mercies of being raised by loving parents who were recent converts cannot be adequately expressed. I know our spiritual DNA/genealogy is what truly defines us and gives us connection and Temple sealings are the sweetest and most secure and comforting blessing our Father in Heaven gives us next to the gift of His Son, our Redeemer.
T&T Brothers, thank you both so much for the light and knowledge through this Scripture Block!! I can't help but draw some interesting parallels from Paul's departure in 2 Tim 4:6-8 to Joseph Smith's departure especially on the way to Carthage!! "My people must be tried in all things... to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion." (D&C 136:31). Being tried and tested was the trademark and the lot of these two martyrs. As Paul trusted his "Brothers and Soldiers in Christ, Joseph did the same as he said to the brethren: “I roll the burden and responsibility of leading this church off from my shoulders onto yours,” he declared. “Now, round up your shoulders and stand under it like men; for the Lord is going to let me rest awhile.” They both were finally able to rest from a life of Travail and persecution to which BOTH could say, I fought the good fight and thus received their "Crown of Righteousness" !!
Thank you for clarifying 1 Timothy 2:9-15. Many years ago, when I was a new convert, I didn't like Paul very well. Through the years I have come to understand and greatly appreciate him. Your insights are very helpful to all of us.
Taylor and Tyler, I enjoy your presentations so much! I like to read the scriptures before turning on your videos. Then I go back and re-read those verses your presentations augment with more contextual knowledge. It is wonderful to learn from the narrative explaining the history and culture relevant to the videos you present. It gives us a more complete perspective of the author's intent. Thank you so much for all you do.
Best team teachers on the planet! Thank you for bringing us closer to Christ! I swear you plan every lesson wondering how you can testify of our Savior… His love, mercy, miracles, and grace! Thank you! We need it so much these days!❤️☀️🙏🏻
Onesimus means “profitable” or “helpful.” Onesimus represents each of us. Alone we are unprofitable servants but with Christ we become useful valuable profitable. Philemon means “loving” or “affectionate kiss” and represents our Heavenly Father. He loves us and is willing to forgive us and embrace us with His heavenly kiss. Paul of course represents Jesus willing to be our advocate and step in our place to pay the price for us. Willing to pay our debt. Beautiful!!!!
I love the chat about genealogy. I love helping others do their family history. Your example reminded me of people who do their genealogy, to prove where they come from so they can be part of the group, daughters of the pioneers or be accepted in the Mayflower society.
For some reason your comments on the Savior telling HF about me brought to my mine a Paul Dunn comment. He always felt like God would say to him: instead of well done, thou good and faithful servant, it would be well, done, thou and faithful servant. What a joy it will be (IF) the Savior does tell HF I am worthy.
I have been listening to your video as a podcast while I am driving. I have noticed that the volume can change drastically within These videos. This means I am fiddling with the volume a large number of times when I'm watching come follow me to achieve a consistent volume that I can hear and it is not too loud. I would suggest running your videos through one of the many noise leveling applications Some podcasters and other videos do to achieve a higher quality product 😊
We always hear how that our ancestors without us cannot be made perfect, implying that Temple work that we do for them enables them to become perfect. On the flip side why does it say that we cannot be made perfect without them? What sort of work can they do that we cannot do here to perfect us?
I don't think they can DO anything for us. But in our searching out our fathers and in doing research, giving of our time and effort, in other words showing charity, it helps perfect us. And then spending time in the temple doing the work for our dead, helps to change us. There is something so special about going through the temple for an ancestor. You are helping with that welding link that the Lord wants. And when we do what the Lord would have us do, we receive His blessings.
I truly believe our family members are our angels. Brigham Young said that the spirit world is right here. Endowed spirits are powerful. They have more power than we know. Who else would be there for us as we go through our trials and tribulations then our very own loving family members. They’re our loving guardians. I believe Temple Work is so important because families are so important. We turn our hearts to them. Our ancestors turn their hearts to us.
I am so deep in family search that if you ask me who the person is I am working for, or which line, I pretty much shrug my shoulders. I am looking for people. People that are ready and waiting. An aunt or grandma started the work and passed away before the work was completed. And I wander along and find them and get it completed. Many people like to search back. I tend to start back a bit and then come forward through the cousins and find those that weren’t given permission or all work completed the last time someone looked at those because of the 110 rule. Anyone want to help me with baptisms?
I have a QUESTION??? HAS GOD APPEARED TO OTHER PEOPLE EITHER MEMBERS OR NON MEMBERS SINCE HE HAS APPEARED TO JOSEPH SMITH??? SHOULD WE HAS MEMBERS CONSIDER HIM TO BE APPEARING TO US ONLY OR HE HAS HIS OWN AGENCY TO APPEAR TO ANYONE HE WILLS???
I do appreciate all the work that goes into this video. I feel like they are getting longer and longer. I realize many appreciate that and I can understand. But for some of us it's just too long. Is there a happy medium? Not trying to be rude, just realistic. Still love ya!
There was a larger than usual amount of chapters assigned to this week, so I think that's why the video is longer. I appreciate that they didn't gloss over anything or cut anything out for the sake of time because I love diving into all of the week's content. Since there are chapters to the videos, you can always easily skip ahead if needed. 😉
Is building a mansion for yourself an acceptable use of money? Recently, Chilean friends (Saints) were visiting. I felt SHAME for our people when we passed by gigantic home after home and these modest members were viewing this. What happened to " We have enough for our NEEDS"? I love how you say, "to impart wealth or resources to bless the lives of others" . This is what I thought we believed. There are excuses after excuses to justify excess, even among our people.
Are we actually seeking to SOLVE problems??? Use resources to help neighbors solve problems. Using intellect, training, teaching, comforting by experience. I'm speaking against self-indulgence. It is an Achille's heal in our society.Collecting "toys" and building larger than actual needier just a few digressions and distractions to becoming truly like our Heavenly Parents- which is the point of our existence.@@BoMwarriorVlog
