Ralph E. Bass, Jr. gives his lectures (entitled "Back to the Future") on the book of revelation from a preterist viewpoint. Playlist: www.youtube.com...
Anna Pennrose end of the old world-covenant-testament and now we live in the New world-covenant-testament an Order paid by Jesus Christ blood on the cross and rose again the 3rd day to make all things new! "world without end" please look up 70AD and Jesus Christ words are apocalyptic allegoric language we live in a Heavenly Kingdom of Spirit in Christ Jesus in the church we need to spread this new Kingdom to the whole Earth with forgiveness of sins
Anna Pennrose yes the whore of Babylon is Jerusalem Temple read Revelation 18 its the list of the Temples sacrifice rituals and the mark of the beast is the Talmud moloch(satan) Jewish star Acts7:43
Anna Pennrose see we cant be in the end times because no prophets are alive on earth today because John the Baptist was the last prophet and Israel killed all the old testament prophets and our Lord Jesus Christ
Spiritualism is a negative form of what is classified as an Idealist; which is to say, God has a pattern, a cycle, framed by Old Testament History and New Testament support from Mathew 24, ie Birth Pangs, that things happen again and again until the final consummation when Christ comes again. It is an easy way to make everything fit, whether right or wrong. Idealist is another form of Amil/Post Millennialism.
I read Revelation 18 and see the destruction of Jerusalem based on where the blood is counted. Luke 11:51 and Matthew 23:29-33. However Jerusalem still has people in it. Maybe it's talking about a spiritual desolation?
infinitywon Wrong, we haven't seen our blessed hope, it will either be when we die or when he returns in like manner as he left, like the Angel said. Blessings.
Have your read "The Parousia" (J.Stuart Russell) suggested by Larry above? I'm currently about halfway through it and let me say...amazing doesn't do it justice! R.C.Sproul said he "can never read the New Testament the same way again after reading The Parousia"...It's worth the effort believe me! Bless you and yours!
mikesglider Thank you, I'll check it out. however, I'm a partial preterist (I guess) I do believe the Lord came in judgement in 70 AD. however, I believe John wrote about things that were, that is, and is yet to come. in his incredible wisdom, I think Revelation is a book that relates to 70 ad, a historic view AND a futuristic/spiritual view of his last two revealsings. the final harvest yet to come being the last. There are just too many coincidences worldwide that match our current condition for events not to lead to an end of this world. I believe we do currently live in the kingdom, but I don't think the bible says the world will be taken over by believers. the message of Christ has reached the whole world (like a tree) and it has filled the whole earth yet evil increases at the same or more rate. there will be a transition at some point and Christ will return in the manner as he left (I don't think that is apocalyptic literature) just like the angel said as he ascended to heaven. So, I'll check out the Russell book, I hope it's not full preterist, cuz I don't interpret scripture that way. thanks for the recommendation.
J Day it can be refuted entirely by just simply honestly stating many prophecies have dual fullfillments I really do not get this view you brothers and sisters hold its kinda fringey out there So do you believe the third temple will be rebuilt or that it has already? Are you saying the Antichrist has already made the abomination of desolation? Are you suggesting that the eschatology of the end happened in the beginning and all you're waiting on is Jesus Christ arrival? Its almost like if those questions get answered yes that your pretrib person not a preterist lol also the wrath of God isnt tribulation
@@RoseSharon7777 when Jesus ascended HE became invisible that’s how HE left but The Believers were continually looking up watching for Him so two angels came to dismiss them HE will come back the same invisible in the clouds
Much needed discussion and serious historical take on Revelation which is lacking in the Left behind theology. I did not care for the derogatory remarks towards the Jewish community. This does nothing for your argument and is outright unbiblical and anti Christ. A look at Paul's statements in Romans 9-11 alone should remind us to remain humble. He wished himself cursed that they might come to realise Jesus is the messiah. The gospel and promises are for the Jew first and then for the gentile. We are grafted in as foreign branches. Their disobedience has meant salvation to the gentiles how much more their restoration!
Jews are restored as individuals to the church, the Body of Christ, not as the political nation of Israel, which Jesus divorced with a 4-fold curse in Matthew 20-28. 1) curse of fig tree, 2) curse of vine yard, 3) curse of temple, and 4) self-maladictory curse. It's not unbiblical to call attention to these facts, nor to the "Synagogue of Satan" -- Talmudic Jews whom Jesus promised will come and bow before the church (Rev 3:9). Comparing I Peter 2:9 with Exodus 19:6 makes it bluntly clear that the nation of the church has replaced the Old Testament nation of Israel. That makes Peter and Jesus (Mt 21:43) the first to teach Replacement Theology: "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and be given to a nation producing the fruit thereof." We need to recognize that the Orthodox Jews in modern Israel are proud to claim the title of "Pharisee" and that their Talmud is the written record of the "traditions of the elders" that Jesus repudiated. The Pharisee Jews in modern Israel persecute the minority Kairite Jews as well as Palestinian Christians. The Kairite Jews are the only Jews that go strictly by the Old Testament and reject the Talmud. The anti-Christs are the Jews who reject that Jesus came in the flesh. John exhorted Christian Jews to have nothing to do with them: "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house,a nd do not give him a greeting." ( 2 John 10).
Today's Jews are actually descendants of Jewish proselytes, most are from mixed European descendancy. To find true Biblical Jews, they should be able to identify their tribe. This was known by every Jew during the time of Jesus.
