God bless you, Mr. Scorby, for the reading and sharing of the Holy Bible, the KJV! I have 2 DVD's of you reading the Holy Bible & I don't subscribe to any TV. I mostly play just your DVD of the Holy Bible in my living room or my bedroom. Almost always have one on all day, even if I'm at work! It's such a blessing. Also use it sometimes to follow along as I read my bible, as it helps keep me stay focused better! The enemy does whatever he can to try to distract us from knowing the Truth that sets "us" free! First time and I listened to Mr. Scourby was when I was in my late 20s. Sometimes I would catch him in the car radio on the way to work. Other times I would be sitting at home following along on the radio. I love the way he delivers the word of God to all of us listening. Then all of a sudden he was gone! It wasn’t until recently that I found him on RU-vid. I am glad that I did.

The guy is Alexander Scourby, who the Chicago Tribune wrote as having the greatest voice ever recorded and the best audio book narrator bar none. He reads it like he's there. When most of us read something out loud, we have to pay attention to just pronouncing the words correcctly, Not only are the many names in the Bible far different than Smith and Jones, Scourby reads as if he grew up with these people. He's constantly rasing, lower his voice, pausing and performing the narration on the fly. It's really incredible. I really thing the Triburn is right.. On a side not since you doing if for world lit. What many don't grasp is this the Old Testament being 3500 hundred years old and the New Testament 2000 year old, combined represent a collections of books that from the foundation for the western civilzation. Imagining the Bible at the bottom of an inverted pyramid, as western civilizations grew they adopted the moral teachings in the Bible Incorporating them into their societies. In doing so they continually confirmed and validated the truth and moral teachings in the Bible. You may not be religious, but I think you would agree with the 10 Commandments, the concept of loving thy neighbor as thy self, and those that are without sin let him cast the first stone. You don't have to believe in God, but there are so many wisdom statements in the Bible that if you just live your life according to those statements you could have a pretty fulfilled life that would be reasonably happy. The Bible is much more than just a religious book, it's a book that Western civilization was founded upon.

Every word read in the Bible is true! Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and do what they say! Ask GOD to forgive you for all that you have done wrong (sinned) against GOD and ask JESUS to lead your life and you shall be saved! he ads make this practically impossible to listen to when I’m at work doing construction, I’m not always within reach of my phone so I end up listening to some ad for three or four minutes. Every five minutes for a three or four minute ad? Ridiculous, how much does this cost to put up on RU-vid? I would be willing to contribute to you if you disclose your costs. Otherwise I’ll start my own channel and post it for free cuz I can’t listen to this anymore.

@@ScourbyYouBible thanks very much. I only have one complaint. I understand that you need the adds to keep the readings free of charge. But WTBS, some of them are too Long!!! I can see the two or three minute ads but when I was listening the other day, there was a twenty minute advertisement! Personally, I don’t want That Long an interruption in my listening to the Word.
