Love all of these awesome crochet lessons❣️ Thank you so much for showing us how to make the little squares that go in between the octagon. I am learning so much from you on the math behind crocheting. I was very good at math when I was younger but now that I’m a great grandma I find I need more help & is why I am so thankful for all your help with so many wonderful free tutorials❣️ 🙋🏻‍♀️🦋🫶🏻

So glad this helps. I laugh at my friends who say, they never use geometry or algebra in their everyday life!! I say "oh I do" 🙋 lol.

Thank you for giving us the breakdown and demonstrating it all so well, explaining how to work out the stitch count was nice and clear. I wanted to ask, would it be possible to apply these methods to be able to change the shape of any of your squares/octagons/hexagons that are already complete as they are? There are so many that are beautifully done but sometimes I wish one that I like that maybe is an octagon could be made into a different shape, like a hexagon for example, so that it goes with other hexagons you've made and so that they can be used together in a project, but I've never been able to work out things like that myself. Would love to hear your take on that to know your thoughts on that please? Thanks 😊

So glad you like these. These are the basis for transforming any square, so it will work, but of course there are always exceptions. It gets trickier when the stitches get more complex or the size of the piece is bigger. However, the basics are the same. Take the piece back to the last circular round, count the stitches and ch spaces and the work out your corners and edges from there. You can also take a piece back to it's base square and use my Flora Squared tutorial as a basis on how to make it a hexagon. This short also explains how to do that ru-vid.comFiN0Wq2Nmf4 You may have to alter a few stitches for height, but most shapes can be transformed into another shape using this basic math. Good luck and thanks for watching.

@@jspcreate Hi, thanks for your help and guidance with this, I value and trust your assistance and explanations more than anyone else, as they seem to make the most sense to me. I will definitely try this method that you've explained of taking it back to the last circular round and going from there, that makes good sense! I really appreciate as well you linking the short to have further visual guidance, hopefully with all of this I will be able to work it out but this gets me off to a good start, thank you! :)
