Thank you very much for all this info. I’m at the critical point of insulation and finishing everything out. Your videos have brought me space and a trail to finish other than the online rabbit holes that never lead anywhere !

Can you expand on LVP flooring? Your videos are amazing, but I can't find a single video you have that covers flooring!!!! Securing it with aluminum floor trim on front/rear and slider means the only direction it can expand is toward the driver side cabinets. But in your 8020 video you run the flooring under the cabinets and screw the cabinets into the flooring as well. And do you run the flooring around (not under) the back cabinets that hold power and water systems? I hadn't consider planks because I have heard complaints about them expanding with extreme van temps. This is an important topic and would love to hear your thoughts. Seems many people would also love to see a video on how you approach flooring!

Great content as always. Really enjoyed reading your build materials list but was surprised by your low cost sidesteps. However, I spent 3X as much and am not thrilled with mine. Also, check out the Rheem Performance 2.5 gallon water heater as a better alternative. Similar to the Bosch but with a low point drain and you can swap out for other heating elements.

I have the biggest problem for DIY builders is knowing what exactly you want and being able to plan for it. The only realistic option I see is to try things out without spending too much money on it, and then rebuild in a few years when you have an idea of what your needs are exactly

So when you say wait for the floor do you still put in the insulation and the subfloor under everything but wait on the floor that you see until the end? Thanks for all the great content!

I would love to hear more about how you do your floors. If they're floating are they secured down on one side but not others? Or do you tuck them under some of the secured cabinets? Since a van moves a lot more than a house I assume there must be something that's keeping the floor from completely coming up in an accident?

We have aluminum floor trim on the front, rear, and at the sliding door. The LVP flooring is secured to the subfloor at these points.

@@OurThrivingLife I'm also curious which brand LVP you use? Thanks again for the great content. I hadn't thought a floating floor was practical in a van, but now that I realize there are ways to secure it on 2-3 sides and let it float on the other, it makes a lot of sense.
