Today we're rocking the Exmark Turf Tracer walk behind lawn mower, and showing you guys what it's all about! We wanted to just share the word about the Turf Tracer and give a little overview on the unit in today's vlog.
Exmark was gracious enough to let us demo the mower for a few weeks, and just let you guys know that they still exist and are part of the Exmark lineup! This unit is the 60" Exmark Turf Tracer powered by Kohler EFI engine, pretty dope!
My first mower was actually an Exmark Viking lawn mower, which is the cousin to the Turf Tracer. Rocking this mower definitely brings back old memories and good times!
If you guys would like to learn more, check them out at www.Exmark.com.

I've been running exmark walkbehinds with a Wright one wheel velke since 1999. Turf Tracer 60 inch with a velke is my go machine. I have many mowers to pick from. The turf tracer has always been my favorite. I have been on one all day today. They are also great on steep hills. Suggestions for exmark to improve mower - larger engine options ( should go up to at least 30 hp and higher) - make a 72 inch model - make lifting the deck up and down easier.

Good evening Brian's lawn maintenance. I've been in business for more than 30 years. My first walk behind lawn mower was the exmark turf tracer HP 48-in 17-horse Kawasaki. Purchased it in 2001.The Mower also had a proslide.Can not tell you how many hours are on the machine due to the hour meter shorting out when I got wet when I worked in the rain. The only thing I replaced was some pulleys for the mower and belts everything else was original The pumps the spindles all are original.Just finally replaced it with a 2021 exmark turf tracer. I believe 18.5 Kawasaki. Since I just saw your video with that pro sulky I want to replace the sulky I just purchased with the mower and get what you have I like staying behind the machine and not get thrown around and twisting and turning. I live in central New Hampshire just north of a lake called Winnipesaukee in Central New Hampshire.

My first commercial mower was a 2010 Turf Tracer. Bought brand new in 2010 because of the versatility for almost any condition I might come across. I still have it to this day. It's now my backup mower.

I’ve never used a sulky. This setup looks awesome. Smaller mowers means you can cut more grass when the ground is still too soft for the riders.

Had a TTHP for years. It's the absolute best mower for near ponds and lakes. Once we got rid of it and got a Toro Grandstand, the difference was painfully obvious!! If your mowing lots of slopes, that's where the walk behind really shines over z's and standons!

I have heard of people rolling the grandstands I don't know how you could roll the turf tracer
@justpalms9978
@justpalms9978 2 года назад
@@kevinbrooks1104 again it depends on what your using it for. Mowing around lakes and ponds the walk behind of superior. So if that or lots of hills then definitely have to get the walk behind over the stand ons. You wouldn't take a stand on any place you wouldn't take a Z. It's simply getting the right tool for the job.

I love my 60" turf tracer. You have to take off the reverse springs on the ECS controls near the pumps, but it turns on a dime even on the wet stuff. Rolls right underneath Bushes and trees and uses close to half the amount of gas as my Toro 31 hp kawi rider.

I graduated from a toro 22" to am exmark 36" metro fixed deck to an exmark 36" turf tracer and only mow my own lawn with it. boy is it a treat. turns on a dime, holds hills, and the cut quality is phenomenal. i considering it the cadillac of walk behinds.

Nice mower. I used to run a belt 48'' Exmark metro with a 15hp kawi vtwin. Loved that mower. Had a beautiful cut, but had to be careful on rough or uneven lawns the fixed deck could scalp or dig in on the sides.

Good video Brian! I don’t understand why people don’t think that walk behinds are any good…. It’s called right tool for the right job. I run all Toros… Grandstands, Hydro walk behinds all with the Turbo force decks and the 30 turfmasters on every fleet. The cut quality on the hydro walk behinds are outstanding. Even better than the Gramdstands. Maybe because they have slowing ground speeds. What people don’t realize is that the blade tip speeds are all around the same so the cuts should all be equivalent.So remember the big machines are any better, they’re just bigger. It all depends on how big the lawn is…

Did exmark do away with the 60' walkbehind for awhile? I had been looking for one awhile back and no one had it. And also is anyone rockin the new version of toro 60' walkbehind? I like the fact that you dont have to adjust the height with the pins but rather with a lever to adjust the height.

I love the Turf Tracer. It is easy to work on, tough and reliable. I know them so well if something happens I pretty much know 85% of the time what the problem is, just by the sound of the machine. Over the past 7 years with the company I am at now, which we field 8 maintenance crews, I have purchased about 35 of these machines. Or about 5 new ones each year. I took one of the older models home after I retired it 3 years ago and I fixed it up and it is now my primary home-use lawn mower. - Aside from a 36" Toro that I bought two years ago in order to fit it inside a fence gate at an HOA I do, I do not have any other mowers that my crews use. I find it so much easier to have one make & model of primary mower for ordering parts (blades, air filters, tires, carberators, etc, etc). We do have a variety of both the 48", 52" and 60" models, but to make parts ordering even more easy - we have been phasing out the 52" machines for the past 3 years. I now only buy either 48" or 60" Exmark Turf Tracers.

I was looking at a 36" Turf Tracer. I really like it, but a big guy like me, on a sulky, mowing (or mulching) the tall thick grass I have to mow. I would feel so much better if Exmark gave the buyer an option for a stronger engine. The 36" only has a FS481engine. I would have to have either a Kaw FS541 or better yet a FS600 (or a FX600) for me to get one.
@matt02468
@matt02468 3 года назад
the 14.5 horse is more than enough. the 18 hp kawasaki is the same motor and same displacement at 603cc, the only difference is the carb is different. remember that. go demo one and see what you think....

@@matt02468 Thanks for the info Matthew.. I don't know.. I noticed that Dan (on youtube) has a 36" Turf tracer with a FS481 engine.. And in some of his videos he takes it thru some taller grass and it really struggles.. I still think I would feel better with a FS or FX600.. Wright and Ferris have this on their 36" walk-behinds..
@matt02468
@matt02468 3 года назад
@@howlingwolf125y so one thing I can tell you is I walk. I only have 12K sqft and don't need a sulky as it's too cumbersome with my tighter yard that also has hills. Maybe thick grass towing someone like myself (not a small guy) and it would struggle, but I haven't really seen that. I will say that the smaller blades with less rotating mass have less energy than something like a 48, 52, or 60 deck considering the smaller amount of steel rotating underneath...

Anyone that makes videos can answer, but I was curious if you get permission from the homeowners to record their lawns. I want to make videos and wasn’t sure what to do

Been using walkbehind eXmark since 2008. You can't beat it . All you need for a lawn business is Lazer and two tracer 60's .

I know this video is a bit old, but how does exmark do this "deal" with you? I'm sure that they expect you to talk good about it and use it in the video to showcase, and in return they make money off of it and you get a mower for a bit(less wear on yours). Do you have to give it back? How long do they give you? I'm interested to know the backstory. Awesome videos.

I mean, honestly, it's usually just a demo, and sometimes there's a fee to create sponsored content, but truthfully 99% of the videos and even brands we work with it's all for free. It's not about making a buck. We just want to create the videos as a resource. Hope that helps.

Oh gosh something is off with the tracking somewhere would be my guess. Take to your local dealer!

Used them for 20 yrs. Best walk behind ever. Switched to a Proline HDX w/ 22hp kawi this yr as the exmark dealer doesn't budge from list. I'll be switching back next yr. TT 5 stars. HDX 2 stars. Cons to HDX not that great on hills unless going side to side and stripes like 💩. Just wish the TT had a larger engine because I run them w/ the mulch kit. Pro tip, zip tie the handles on the TT to override the safety. I've yet to find a hill the TT can't do!

I think you need to try the fw35 from Ferris now. From what I have seen they reign supreme in the walk behind market for now anyways. They are basically better than the TT in every except maybe cut quality.

Turf Tracers are the most popular mowers in Georgia. Takes hills very easy and leaves a nice cut on Bermuda and zoysia.

I have a area my zero turn will not go because of the angle. So I push mow it. Please show side mowing at angle grades. Because my Gravely ZTHD 60 didn't cost this much. But if it's the right tool. I'm getting older. Work smarter not harder.

We still run 2 of the 48" Turf Tracer Exmarks. I know you're running a lot of standers but I just can't get rid of the old turf tracers, they cut so well and are just reliable

LOOKING GOOD. I ROCK ALL BOBCAT ND I HAVE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SWITCHING BACK TO ALL WALK BEHIND MOWERS. LEAVES A BETTER QUALITY CUT THAN RIDERS. RIDERS ARE CONVIENANT FOR US AS LANDSCAPERS, BUT WALK BEHINDS ARE BETTER FOR THE TURF.

This is my first yr and all I have is a 2011 52" turf tracer...... Because I watched your video when you talked about how your started with the Viking. If Brian can do it, I can do it!

Of all the mowers I have used the 36 has the absolute best cut and lays the nicest lines, in my humble opinion the best mowers on the market 9000 best money spent

My favorite mower honestly, sucks when there's many turns to do throughout the day but worth it. These mowers are more dangerous if you haven't use them before, seen someone lose a finger and many other instances

Scag swzt is better in my opinion. It has a fuel gauge, and a zero turn style floating deck

I need this, a 36" cut. My honda hrx is struggling in my zoysia. It's so thick and I'm not getting any younger.

Awesome, I traded my riding cub cadet for a 12 year old 48" bobcat classic and it works the crap out of me but it makes me money and just bought a mint 2018 36" bobcat for small yards and such. I love seeing different brands on here to give me an idea of what I might want to shoot for next. Love walk behinds but I think I might be going with a grandstand next do to limited availability in my area. Thanks so much for these videos.
