Anyone who describes jokic as “boring” never played competitive basketball at any level. When someone makes the game look that easy it’s amazing to watch.
Facts anyone that played gets hyped up by the right play, casuals get hyped up for something flashy. How can jokic be boring and then people mention Steph, sorry but to me Steph just shooting is kinda boring. He can't do anything else on floor, can't pass, can't defend just shoot. I seen Jokic block Zion dunk as time expired. Won nuggets game
This literally feels like league realizing he'll be an all time great and basically saying to the fans "ok people we have some catching up to do, let's start from the beginning" 😂
Jokic almost averaged a triple double last season while having a usage rate less than 28%. To put that in perspective, LeBron last season had a usage rate of 33% and when Westbrook was averaging a triple double his usage rate was over 40%. That’s insane efficiency
The Nuggets culture has been building for 8 years toward this moment. I see so many guys in these highlights that were a part of the foundation, Darrell Arthur, Jameer Nelson, Will Barton, Gary Harris, Faried, all them were a part of the team's development specifically Nikola.
As a Serbian fan of Nikola Jokić, I didn't miss a single season of him in the NBA. I watched his last season in the Serbian legion and then it was clear that he has more possibilities and a different style than other big players. I'm sure they saw the same thing in Denver during his first season. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch it live since then.
@@Time_Lapse_Master. None of those guys are draft steals lol they were drafted high. They were expected to be good. Sure both were better than expected but I wouldn’t classify them as a draft “steal”.
The man finally getting some love. Ohh the next season's MVP voting gonna be interesting. Those triple-doubles won't be viewed as *stat-padding* anymore. Because Jokic holds the all-time record in a single playoff run ( and still counting ).
I honestly don't care if he never wins MVP again, the fuss this year is ridiculous, it's never been a very meaningful award and I don't think his legacy will change a jot whether he wins 2 or 8
One his first highlight, I like how that Grizzles fan got hyped on that insane pass. Sometimes you just gotta tip your hat to good ball, even if it is against your team.
2015 was an underrated draft class; KAT, D’angelo Russell, Devin Booker, Porzingis, Myles Turner, Kevon Looney, Jokic…im sure im missing a couple others but thats a solid draft!
I saw Michael Malone smiling on one play made by Nikola. Maybe at this point, he was thinking on how to utilize Nikola's playmaking ability for the future Nuggets system.
Obviously hindsight is 20/20 looking back but I honestly have no clue how he went 41st overall. Before being drafted he was already one of the best players in his league (had teams from 6 different countries) with amazing efficiency. He had one of the the basketball IQs in the draft, quick decision maker, by far the best passer for someone even close to his size (in years!), could shoot, amazing touch around the rim, all at 7 feet tall. Only thing that was a red flag was if his speed and conditioning could hold at an NBA level. With scouting today he would have certainly been a 1st round pick, probably in the late teens like Sengun, his closest comp IMO. Either way, ecstatic he’s in Denver and hopefully he can win us 4 more games 🤞
I think it’s because he doesn’t fit the mold the NBA is trying to promote and it would take a really special and dedicated franchise to develop that diamond in the rough or … hidden gold NUGGET shall we say lol 💰🃏⚒️💥
"a bit soft and he's really unathletic. there is no pop in anything he does. laterally he looks slow, doesn't change ends well, has poor elevation and agility. even on his jumpers he looks like he barely jumps." A typical perspective in April 2014.
Amazing offensive iq Excellent passer Tall great for rebounds Man’s is just a walking trip-dub on any given night🔥🔥 D-wade voice: god said “ you can have all that, but I’m keeping that defense” 😂😂
Passing skill of Larry Bird, Dribbling skill of Magic Johnson, Court Vision of Steve Nash, and Paint Dominance of Tim Duncan. Only 2x NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has.😊😊
He started as playmaker but suddenly he grows up 25cm . So they switched him to center position. There is reason ehy he is so good with passing. U can watch it in his interview for ArenaSport
The first time I saw him play on t.v I was reminded a lot of tim duncan. But now? I think hes just one of a kind. Good playmaking/passer. Not lazy at all when it comes to getting rebounds. Can put up 3’s. Can make his own shots. He also got that winning mentality. And very durable can play a full complete season.
What's crazy is knowing Jusuf Nurkic is sitting on the bench. Imagine having a good role center worthy of starting on any team that doesn't have a star center, and having him come off the bench while Nikola starts his rookie year. That's a bold move, and a commitment to Jok's future. Paid dividends
An ideal opportunity for people who missed the basketball expert, basketball savant, now they can see what they missed in this hour and will not see again like some who watched the whole games.
2:12 during this game we had no idea we were watching the two future best players in the league going head to head, just another regular season game at the time.
There is no feeling as i stay up till 4am and i found out that my stream is Attitude tv, their commentary duo is the best in the league. Love you ATTITUDE!
The facts that Denver let a 2nd round, 41st draft pick wear a number 15 jersey in his rookie season tells me that Denver had no plans to retire Melo's 15, and after the 2023 Finals, there's even more reason for them not to.
The only thing stopping Jokic from becoming the biggest player in the league right now is him not dunking. If he had even a few posters then he'd be a leading vote getter at All star weekend
To put this into perspective, i dont think even Giannis, Ja, Butler, Tatum, or any other "electrifying" player has an hour ling competition put up by the NBA
It's crazy to see these highligts looking more athletic than today. But he basically does the same things today, he's just bigger and stronger and can force so much of this in defanse's face. Incredible.
man how impressive. playing day in day out in front of an almost empty arena (40:00) and still giving your best. they realy gone a long way till to this point in time. congrats to the nuggets and man this joker is a different breed. was as a rookie and still is. all time great - and all time humbled.
Don't get me wrong, Nuggets attendance was horrendous back then, but that game was particularly empty because of a blizzard. I had tickets and didn't feel it was safe to drive that night. Which sucked because the Nuggets won on an insane buzzer beater.
