I know this is a long video, but I encourage anyone with the time to watch the full hour. Yes VC was a crazy good dunker. But this video showcases all the other aspects including some incredible shot making. The media only focused on dunks back in the day. Where with players like T-Mac and Kobe they showed the all around game. VC really got mislabeled by ESPN and the national media. Just watch and you’ll see.
I will most definitely be watching the whole thing! Thank you for this! Always love watching some vinsanity. There’s not enough of these videos out there🙌🏽🙌🏽
I never watched Vince Carter in depth until seeing “When Vince Carter was the GREATEST show on Earth” 2000 highlights and I became a fan and these highlights make me more of a fan.
00:54 That shot impressed Pippen so much that Pippen was smiling after that, like he was saying "Damn this kid is special!", or "how the heck did he make that shot?"
Vince Cater is a really artist in the court. he could do all moves people could imagine. He was my all time favor in terms of "pleasing to the eye" player
What about Ja Morant or LBJ ? I think Vince Carter is a bit of a overrated dunker. Don’t get me wrong, he is still one of the most iconic dunker of all time. But nowadays the level of the dunkers in the NBA is much higher than it was back then. Just look at all the iconic Vince Carter’s dunk in the dunk contests, nowadays any good dunker in the nba can do the elbow dunk or the iconic 360 (heck, Paul George did a similar 360, but INGAME). On the other hand, i don’t think Carter could do the free throw line between the legs dunk, for example.
@@trgrgtgrtgr7724 everyone can do the dunk but the finesse the grace the creativity the power Vince has when doing the dunk is second to none.. no caps just stating facts #greatestdunkerofalltime #vinsanity
Everyone can dunk nowadays but the GRACE the FINESSE the CREATIVITY the POWER Vince has when doing the dunks is second to none.. tnx Max for the greatest mix for my basketball hero #greatestdunkerofalltime #vinsanity
Although he was sure to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a gorgeous slam dunker, he was the best player with explosive power and sustainability who was transformed into an all-rounder who can hit 3P and continued to be active for 22 seasons.
You read my mind, how did Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis make the cut and not VC15? I grew up in Toronto and Vince put Canada on the map as a raptor. The comity is a joke for not selecting him and TMac.
I watch it and damn, i really think Vince Carter is soooo underrated when we talk about the greatest. He's known for dunks but is so much more than just a highflyer. Thanks for the video !
I watched every Raptor game back in those days and he did something unbelievable at least once in literally every game. And it was that double pump two handed reverse windmill on poor old Chris Mullen that put him on the map for me. It was like what did I just see for the first time ever in an actual game????
his pure athleticism is under-rated. everyone knows the hops but his body control, length (pause lol), footwork and dexterity don't get talked about enough especially them years in Toronto. This man was INSANE wit it
I didn't know this guy existed until I played NBA Live 2001 in a Playstation. Going against the Toronto Raptors was tough. Even with Kobe Bryant it's really hard to defend this guy. I couldn't stop him. I really really hated Vince Carter. Until I watched him on live TV. His character and posture was built like a real man, his movement was so graceful; the dunk, the jumpshot, the adjustment of shots mid-air. He was really great to watch. He became my favorite NBA player. He's number 1 for me, ahead of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan when it comes to basketball repertoire.
For so many People MJ was the main piece to become a fan of this sport. For the Newer Generations its mostly LBJ but for me it was VC15, his electrifying art to play the game was so awesome! Playin in 4 different decades in the best league against the best athletes the world has seen was so great, still love to see some footages of his long career! Thank you Vince!
4:55 that one at the end of an already lost game in milwaukee shows you what vince carter meant back then. he probably had a game where he wasnt able to really showcase for the fans, and fans wanted to see atleast one crazy dunk from him, that even at the buzzer in a lossing effert everyone just allowed him to give the audience what they were hoping to see... even milwaukee team was like yeah give to the fans, its cool...just watch the milwaukee fans stand up in anticipation for it.
This video dope loved carter. I rmb goin back and fourth with some clown saying carter wasn’t the best in game dunker Kobe was . I hope that clown sees this. Ps year 2 was filled with highlights that weren’t his second year lol
The 360 at the 2001 All Star game had a pretty interesting sound byte afterwards. You can hear someone in the crowd say, “Ain’t nothing wrong with his knee.” Lol
i don't think anyone can top vince other than what kawhi did for the raptors vince is still the greatest raptor of all time he filled the stadium and kept the team alive vancouver team didn't survive when vince didn't play you could get ticked for free to fill the stadium edit : grizzlies kinda got screwed over because they got steve francis in the draft and he refused to play
I tried so hard but could never bring myself to like his game. As a youth from the tri state I was happy when he joined the nets. Soon however, I grew disappointed. Great athlete but mentally something was missing. It’s like he never really wanted it.
I mean, saying someone who played 1500+ games and 22 seasons “not wanting it” is kinda crazy. What he wanted and what *you* wanted him to have is the issue I’m assuming. The media in general placed Jordan-like expectations on him since he came into the league. When he didn’t have the will of Jordan people were “disappointed he didn’t want it bad enough”. I watched virtually every game of his career and he truly was one of the most exciting and entertaining players I’ve seen. In a game that is meant for entertainment that’s gotta count for something.
@@MaxaMillion711 Yes. Super star talent but preferred to be just good enough. Watching a man settle is quite pathetic. Thankfully, Tim Duncan and Kobe understood the assignment.
@@MaxaMillion711 Yes that was his nickname if I remember correctly. Those were golden years of web also. Nowadays we need to catch a break from web time to time for mental stability =D
Wow can you imagine vc played against ewing, pippen, Marlee and with Oakley. At some point in the future, we will say ja morant played against lebron, kd and curry.
the nba might come after you, bro.....they are trying very hard to erase any memory of this man. Loved seeing Kevin Willis make a basket in the VC highlight reel!
There's no chip even if Mac stays. Cuz 00s is era of spurs and Lakers. And this was only 3 champions from east, pistons with almost super team, heat and Celtics super team. They maybe reach the finals 2-3 times.
