Here's some facts about some of my favorites: Yamask is based on an Egyptian ba, a person's soul, typically depicted as a bird with a human head, or šwt, the shadow or silhouette of a person's soul, both appearing after the person's death. Its overall body shape is similar to the Eye of Horus. Toxtricity is based off the Northern crested newt, When hunted by predators, they will secrete the poison tetrodotoxin, which prevents signals from being sent through the nervous system. In effect, this will cause paralysis and other symptoms. This matches Toxtricity's Electric/Poison dual-type and the fact Toxtricity manipulates the chemical makeup of its poison to produce electricity. Absol is based on the Bai Ze (白澤) of Chinese mythology, whose name literally translates to "white marsh." It is generally described as a white beast, distinguished by having one or two horns on its head. Considered to be an intelligent beast, Bai Ze is gifted with the ability to understand human speech and the knowledge on the forms and habits of 11,520 types of supernatural creatures in the world. In legend, Bai Ze shared its knowledge to the Yellow Emperor, which was subsequently compiled in a book called Bai Ze Tu.

Sure the sihouettes made it easier, but that's over a thousand Pokémon to name so it very much still counts as a feat! And here's a fun fact, Dottler isn't based off a soccer/football! It's based off both a ladybug pupa and a radome. A radome is a dome constructed of material transparent to radio waves and help protect antennas from weather and conceal antenna electronic equipment from view. So the name Dottler is a combination of both dot and the Doppler radar.
You know what's really funny about Dottler? When I was playing this game a while back, Dottler was the only one I could remember from the evolution line, which is terrible because Orbeetle was ON MY ORIGINAL CHAMPION'S TEAM 😂

yes I struggled quite a bit, I probably got like half of them but missed most of the stuff from the current Gen and the last Gen, I was blanking on the Swords of Justice for whatever reason yet somehow remembered Keldeo. I was trying to remember stuff based on the anime itself. There were a few Ultra Beasts that I had missed as well.

I got around 800 without shadows in about 90 minutes, then nearly completed the rest with shadows on, it surprises me that I still don't know all names even though I have played Pokemon all my life 😮
done this challenge myself and the best i've got is roughly 40 minutes to name them all it helps to do them all in pokedex order, if you can learn that

I tried that name all 1,000+ pokemon, but I got interrupted and was unable to finish. I'll have to try it again sometime. I got all the way to 650ish, but I would have gotten further if I wasn't interrupted. I didn't want to restart after my progress being wiped. It was too devastating. But like I said, hopefully I'll do better next time! Good luck me!
Good idea for a Pokémon video Munch! I did this same quiz a week ago and i was really struggling…spelling the names that is. It took 4 hours to name 600 without shadow sprites
I tried this before watching your video and got 99.6% (1006 of 1010) Only pokemon I missed were Walking Wake, Klawf, Rellor and Rabsca (who cares about them), and the Iron Virizion idiot (I already forgot her name) There goes an hour of my life 😂😂
