The moment David lethargically pencil dove onto the pile of garbage bags and this up-tempo banger really kicks off was the moment I was sold on the show.
"I was a teenage outlaw, with no worries on my mind. And now I'm getting older, my heart is growing colder all the time." If that isn't growing up, I don't know what is, chooms.
@@ShallBeMine actually that's fine business logistics: cost zero makes a great Margin, you might get a call from the accounting department of the business that manages to pay no income tax XD. Actually don't shoplift XD
I saw a comment on another video that said, "This song is how they cover the feeling of malaise and ennui in the city. Like this city doesn't care about you and the only real way to deal with it is to not care back. Love it."
This song playing while David walks to school gave me major FLCL vibes, I feel like we only get anime with this vibe every blue moon🥹I can’t wait to see the next show to have a feel like this
@@N1cknme That's funny, I was thinking maybe he was a Based Fascist. Maybe it could mean anything besides what we have and what Night City shows, and we put our own spin on it?
If any song needed the RU-vid 1 hour video treatment, it's this one. It's so fire, it's such good background music to life, and it's so goddamn criminally short. Thank you so much for this!!
it also barely plays in the game, I pretty much always kept it on the station and did almost every side quest and did all the story quests and I heard it maybe twice. That is 31 hours and I never fast travel
@@spaghettiupseti9990 I swear they put up a council and demanded they pick out the most boring songs to play 95% of the time: And the remaining 5% to be played right before fights start.
Lyrics: I ain't your average sicko (Yeah) I'm dead, just like disco (Dead) My bank account is zero-zero-zero, oh no I think I need a hero (Oh) I don't have no ego (Nah) 'Cause I'm spinnin' out now (Woah, woah-woah) [Chorus] I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder, oh, that's fine [Chorus] I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder, oh, that's fine (Woah-woah) I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder, oh, that's fine [Outro] You say tomorrow It's another day Woah-woah (Woah-woah)
The moment I knew this would be a good show was when David turns to step up to the edge and jump, the shading on his legs as he turns to step up is just phenomenal and the fact that level of detail was put into such an early, seemingly meaningless scene that becomes so much more significant as David walks the same path time and time again with totally different outlooks. I could write an essay on how this show is a near perfect example of the heroes journey.
Ratboy (IBDY in the game) is great! He's the nephew of Tim Timbomb, of Operation ivy, Rancid, and Transplants fame, and it shows in his punk/ska inspired sound!
WHAT MADE DAVE DIFFERENT. is he didnt just accept it. he slogged through. but wouldnt accept it as fate. when he had the chance. when his mom the medic for maines team died. He had a chance he dreamed of for ages. AND HE TOOK IT. HE CLIMBED TO LEGEND RANKS! AND HE DIED A GLORIOUS HERO. and the drink at the afterlife is proof. david was someone who could NEVER accept the life set for him. HE NEEDED HIS FREEDOM and it was from his moms death. it shattered his mind, making him realize the opener to glory. Live fast. die young. Leave a awesome blood splatter. that was davids life. AND HE LIVED IT WELL!
added this song to my workout playlist after watching edgerunners. might show my fiance the show bc im starting to get her into anime. dont know if its good for a beginner anime watcher tho.
I'd say it's a good beginner anime in the sense that it's a great mix of action, mature themes, and some romance. Definitely is way more nostalgic if you've played Cyberpunk 2077, I should know cause I was squealing like a little boy the whole time lol
@@FTBASTAR id pause mid episode and load the game up and try to find the location. its insane how well they did translating the game world into the anime some parts are exact remakes of the ingame area
This songs really shows what influence Tim Amstrong had on Rat Boy. I remember when I first heard the song in the game I thought Rancid was part of the soundtrack. Took me a while to find out who is actually singing it and well as it turns out Rat Boy actually did an album with Tim. Love the track :)
Imagine if Edgerunners had come out BEFORE Game of Thrones, when people didn't mistake killing people off for no reason for good storytelling. Instantly would go from a great show to a perfect show.
I like how in every scene before he implants the Sandavista, the scene is just repeating (Walking to School) for me it looks like it represents David's Repeating Mediocre Tired Life with never changing life, until he implanted it and never repeated that life and started to change (or maybe they just repeated that scene for budget saving and consistency)
Dunno why this ain't ere so ere... Who's Ready for Tomorrow / Lyrics I ain't your average sicko I'm dead, just like disco My bank account is zero, zero, zero, zero, oh no I think I need a hero (oh) I don't have no ego (nah) 'Cause I'm spitting out now, woah (woah) I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder all the time I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder all the time (woah) I was a teenage outlaw With no worries on my mind And now I'm getting older My heart is growing colder all the time Woah-woah-woah
I listened to this while walking to school, and it made the journey about 3 times cooler. Try it next time you’re going to school or work. You will mot regret it
