The butter dish is awesome, but I think the best thing about your kiln opening is seeing how clean your kiln space that is incredible! Great that you have a cameraman! -Liana
Hi Shawn!!! Congratulations on the kiln opening!! Welcome to the RU-vid creator community!! Nice that Kevin is helping with the filming makes such a difference. Raised Cookies are a GAME CHANGER!! love the Red Clay...I'm working with Tuckers Smooth Red right now love the combo you did! I may have to try it! Beauty!! cant wait to see more goodies from you! 🥂
Hi Shawn n Kevin, so excited to watch your 1st kiln unload. Nat makes cookies the same and it saved my dog bowl. Love your creamer. Wow love the outside of the butter dish lid. That smooth red clay is nice. I’m not usually a fan of iron lustre but really like it under the textured turquoise. My fav cookie is white chocolate chip with macadamias lol. Omg love your reaction to the empty cookie and Kevin’s it melted 😂 You should try Nat’s hammer trick to tap the cookie off. Oh wait you did lol Love the interaction between you both. Great first unload Shawn. 😊
Opening the kiln lid is like Christmas morning! I know how much work goes into creating these pieces and so glad things really worked out well with the firing. Congratulations on the first kiln opening and wishing you much success with upcoming ceramics!
Great choice on the color of the glazes... your pieces look amazing! I'm definitely trying some of your combinations. Watching from México... keep up the good work... loved it!
Congratulations on your VERY FIRST kiln opening! So exciting for you! I like Kevin's camera. Is it his phone? That butter dish, SO NICE! Hahaha!...an empty cookie!😅 Beautiful mugs. It doesn't matter where in the kiln particular posts sit. It's all how you want to load your kiln depending on the pieces you have to fire. I think generally, most of us put the taller pieces on the bottom but it's not a rule. All your pieces look great. Thanks for sharing your inaugural event!
Hey Audrey , thank you much for checking out the channel… Kevin is a pro at editing .. the video is done by two cameras and a GoPro above the kiln hopefully I can be more organized with my notes . You make your kiln openings so easy … and effortless!
@Shawnreidpottery Awesome. Thanks! I should grab a GoPro. I can use it in the studio and on the motorbike. Multi-use! Thanks for the compliment. I thought you did very well! Cheers!
Thanks so much for watching ! Iron luster is a hit and miss for me .. my favorite cookie is the classic chocolate chip 😊 Kev and I have been together for over 30 years , we banter like two old men … can you tell hahaha
Hey Shawn oh yayyyyy a kiln opening!!! Congrats!! Love the spoon rests I made my first ones today! Wow that butter dish is gorgeous. I need to play w emerald falls more! Def my fav. Nice unload. Nat xx
Hi Shawn, great kiln opening! I like your dual viewpoints, fun looking down into the kiln. You had me in stitches with the commentary, “where does most clay come from Shawn? I don’t know Kevin, why don’t you tell me?” 😂 Sounds like the line from Christmas vacation where the neighbor asks “why is the carpet all wet ,Todd? I DONT KNOW, MARGO!” Oh, man. So funny. And the mystery of the lone cookie. 😅Congrats on your first kiln opening video.😊
Thanks so much for watching !!! … we have been together for over 30 years , can you tell ! Kevin is the technical director … we have another RU-vid channel called Travel By Numbers and he is a pro at editing …
Yeah Shawn🎉🎉 your first kilnopening!! I guess you are the Shawn I always hear about by the opening of some of the other potters and I said hi to!😊 nice kilnopening! Love that you try to stay in the same colour range!
Great first opening, definitely make more in the future! My only critique would be better light ✨️ Some lovely pieces and combos tho, that butter dish was my favorite. & "other drugs" lol I was laughing so hard😂 ☮️amanda
Hi Shawn. I'm glad you had a great first kiln opening. It was much better than mine 25 years ago lol. So how long did your kiln run on the Hoffman schedule? Can you share the other segments of the firing?
