This is a heartbreakingly beautiful song. It is breathtaking, it runs the gamut of the whole human experience - of pain, of joy, of loss, of sorrow, of grief, but finally of the ineffable peace and bliss that comes with acceptance, with gratitude and with Grace - the peace that we are all headed towards. Grateful to HIM for giving you this song and to you for sharing it with us. My daughter and I are planning to learn it tomorrow. All the best.
🤣 I purchased your sheet music a few months back & am now half way through. I was one of the many that asked for this so thanks a lot. Really is the most touching piece of piano music I’ve ever heard. You struggling to teach it makes me feel better about struggling to learn it! Thanks again.
TOTALLY AWESOME.... im one of the people thats been waiting for this.... I am self taught and have a difficult time breaking a song down so thank you...... You have no idea what this song means to me.... An absolute MASTERPIECE..... and i am very grateful that you are sharing this with the world
I've been trying to play this for a year. I gave up. But now I just saw this video and it breaks it down beautifully. I'm back to practicing again. Thank you for this respite from this difficult time in my life. And I love your "rambling."
Wow this is so awesome, thank you. I hesitate to attempt to play such amazing music, but Im nervously excited to try. I cannot tell you how often I listen to this. Several times a day, every day. Literally. I can only imagine what it must be like to create something that EVERYONE seems to have such a deep connection with. Never had music move me such as this. You're a blessed man
Congratulations on the millionth view. So happy for you. You definitely deserve it. Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial for your friends and fans 🎵🎶. Again you are enriching people's lives by TEACHING them. Bless you in your work🙏❤️
I really cant find the words to describe your music...this song touches the deepest ends of my soul...I can't thank you enough for sharing this. This song speaks to me in a way nothing else ever has. Love from the Solomons 🇸🇧
Jason, you are such a gifted musician/songwriter. As you know, I love so many of your songs, and have learned to play many of them, including Redemption (not that I am in any way a good pianist, having only started lessons when I was 36). I am so grateful that you've made the sheet music available for your songs. There are relatively few artists whose songs I can listen to over and over again, but I have listened to yours hundreds of times, some of them a dozen or more times in a row during the day. They just strike a chord with my soul. Thank you so very much for sharing your gift with the word.
Thank you so much for this video. I can’t wait to sit down at the piano and begin working my way through it. I bought the sheet music over a year ago, but got stuck, so set it aside. Apparently it’s time for me to pick it up again, since I just happened on this video. Such a beautiful and moving piece of music 💗
Hi Syts. I don't how you keep up with comments, but if you ever read this I wanted to say I appreciate your style. You don't portray as some masterful pianist but you perform masterpieces that are simple and majestic. I played for years as a child, and got pretty good, but it was forced and when I could, I stopped and didn't play again for years. I decided to re-teach myself about a year ago (some 30 years later) and I picked it up surprisingly fast and jumped into learning 'recital' pieces. When I stumbled across one of your songs a couple weeks ago I loved it, bought your sheet music and found out it wasn't something only for someone who has been playing for decades. I picked it up fairly fast and will continue to work on learning your songs. Thank you for your beautiful music. And thanks for trying to teach your song. For me, its mostly about which fingers play certain notes and a few more complicated spots. Keep on putting out great songs!
Thank you! And Thank you so much for helping support my music with your purchase! My life got super busy lol so I never got to finish this series...yet. I might post a life update soon just to fill people in and let them know I'm still here 😉
You are so talented and an inspiration. I play this over and over when I’m ready down. Thank you just doesn’t do it. I bought the sheet music about a year ago and still haven’t the courage to try yet. Bless you
I love lots of music, but this one is amazing. I never get tired of listening to it. I could hear it all day long and the last one is equally good as the first.
I’ve listened to this music over and over and I love it. I started to try to learn the notes and how to play it. I could get through the first couple of measures and that was it. I’m not a pianist. I mostly play guitar but I’m learning piano now at 72 1/2 Years old. This music has brought joy to my heart and a struggle to my fingers lol. Thank you for trying to teach this. It has helped me a little. I hope your families doing well as can be. The new addition to your family must be a real blessing. God bless.
You are sn inspiration. I played piano years ago and gave it up. Im back playing again because of you. This song you wrote, Redemption, has a purpose. You touched so many with it. The song reaches up into the ethers and radiates outward. It cant be explained. Its awe inspiring. You truly have a gift and it is your destiny. The saying "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear". So true.
You are far too kind! Thank you so much! I'm truly honored I could be an inspiration for you and wish you all the best on your musical journey! Welcome back 🎹
Although I may be blind and I don’t understand much piano & music theory or lack the hand coordination to play this song myself, I suppose being able to listen to something as emotional yet inspirational, something that makes you shed tears but, somehow heals you emotionally and it’s Beauty that speaks for itself is just as…satisfying and is a gift itself. No other song that I ever heard of comes close to having the same power as Redemption has. Here I am, in a 5 week program that teaches the blind to live more independently and in a long time I’m around other people who are just like me. I just wish it could last forever because even though I’m usually the quiet one and I don’t have a strong connection with any of the other residents and I have yet to find true love, I almost feel like I belong somewhere for the first time in a while. Too bad I have to return home to my brother and father next Monday. Hopefully what I learned at this program will put me one step forward in my fight to reclaim my life and build my future. I just hope the power of Redemption will carry me through my birthday and the holiday season sense it’ll be my first birthday and holiday season without my mom sense she passed away from a heart attack and renal failure in March and she was only 58.
Praying for you, Thomas. May God guide you through these difficult trials in your life, and grant you peace and comfort during the upcoming holiday season
Congratulations on your 1 million views!!! Its such a beautiful song, the whole world should get to know it. Great idea making a tutorial for this occasion 😁
I just discovered Redemption and I’m almost 80 and no longer have my piano because I live with family. I think I will get a keyboard and learn this song. I also play by ear. Thank you for this lovely piece. There’s something very spiritual about it.
I found you a few months ago and purchased this piece. When I’m really down I play this for hours. I also purchased the music. This should help me learn it. Thank you so much. The most beautiful piece I’ve ever heard. Thank you!!!💐🌈💕
Here's the link for the sheet music if you'd like to follow along with the tutorial - or to help support me so I can make more music for you ;) www.sytspiano.com/merch/redemption-sheet-music Tutorial starts at 4:02 if you'd like to skip my rambling 😂😏
Wow glad to see this i took piano as a kid and life happened. Played in Sunday school years ago so I am going to write this down on music paper. Excited. Told my great grandson who is 15 and taking piano. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for uploading this tutorial!! I‘m already learning this but this helps me so much more to improve it! Please never stop creating this heart touching music!! ❤️
Thank you for this stunning piece. In my humble opinion, God does sometimes speak through art. When I hear it I feel so many emotions. What a gift you have! And your gratitude and humbleness shines through.
Love it!!! I was here surching Clocks played 2cellos feat Lang Lang and...bang this masterpiece came to me. Your performance and play touched my soul...!!! Thank U so much for your inspiration. Love from Portugal 🙏
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've been wanting to learn how to play this piece for so long. My son committed suicide 2 years ago. HE was 21. He was such an important part of my life. When I heard Redemption, it made me think of him. Your tutorial will allow me to build that bridge from my soul to his. I am at a loss for words. Music isn't about theory, it's about feelings. Your gift of Redemption is all about feelings. Someday I will see my son again. But for now, Thru your tutorial, I will start to build that bridge. God has a purpose for every person on earth, thank you for sharing your purpose with me.
Trying to keep up with you feels like the slow baby duckling whose mother is 100 feet ahead and won't slow down. However, it's a beautiful song and after rewinding probably, 100 times, I've got this part finally. I gave up last night but came back to it today, and happy I did. After I can do this without having to think about it I'll learn the next part. I'm a beginner. I can't read music (yet) and have only been playing for about 8 mos, but can play beautiful full songs because of RU-vid tutorials. Thanks for teaching us.
@@syts I bought the sheet music and had to learn to read music to finish learning the song so it set me back a bit. But I'm on the last page officially and it's not a hard page at all. Give me a few days and I'll have the whole song down. One thing though, my hands absolutely cannot play the bdgb (and so on) trill. I have to play B's. Maybe my hands will grow when I turn 40 next month. Otherwise, B's it is. 😆
Thank u so much for this tutorial. I’ve wanted to learn this song but haven’t learned how to read sheet music. U r doing a great job teaching this song.
Hi ,I did not like piano or want to play ,but for the first time I heard you play, not only love what you play but I want to learn to play the piano thank you god bless you ❤
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Jason, I became an independent writer in my old age and if not financially successful from the endeavor, I've derived intense personal pleasure and achievement from it. Would I be accurate in assuming you've also... yet to be discovered? I also enjoy almost all forms of music, from the classics and big band to acid rock, from ABBA to ZZ-Top. I recently stumbled across Ludovico Einaudi's Nuvole Bianche while looking for the right 'mood music' for a particular scene in a book I was writing. In a word, I found his music spellbinding. That, in turn, sent me searching for additional similar music. That's when I discovered 'Redemption.' Next, I listened to '50 Minutes of...,' and that set the proper mental mood to write a particular scene in the book. In my opinion, Jason, you're in the same league as Einaudi, and I wish you every (financial and professional) success in the future. Your lead-in to this tutorial brought to mind a particular, non-fiction book I wrote three years ago. The book is an autobiography of Ladell Allen Bonner (1894-1949), and the story of her life and afterlife. She dictated the story through clairaudience, and to connect with her, I had to enter a mindset similar to what Redemption creates. In so many ways her life parallels this music; she was so close to harmony and synchronization to lead a perfect life, always so close while so far away. ("My Voice," by Ladell Allen Bonner with Carl McLelland). Albigensiac (below) mentioned a suicidal girl he knew, who survived after listening to your music. Had Ladell been able to hear your song it's possible she might have completed her life as well. (She consumed mercury cyanide poison, Christmas night, 1948, and died in the hospital eight days later). I wrote Ladell's story for her, that others might avoid her mistake. It seems you've done the same with your music. There is no greater gift we can give, than giving of ourselves to others. Congratulations, and thank you for bringing pleasure to this old man....
You are correct, Carl - I still have a day job. Also, I feel I'm far away from an Einaudi level of composing and playing, but I do thank you for the comparison - very kind of you! I wish you all the best with your writing and am thankful my music can help you out in someway.
Hello, Beautifully played with the necessary explanation. I have a question, I own a good acoustic piano Bechstein A116, but installing a silent system seems to be too expensive, Purchasing, for example, an additional Roland Juno ds88 would be considerably cheaper. However, my question is, would this be a good choice to practice piano pieces?
I love this son g and purchased your sheet music. I am new at sight reading but I can't seem to understand what your playing compared to what is on the page. Is this the same sheet music? Sorry , I know this is over my head
GRACIAS!
Heard this RIGHT AFTER my mom went to sleep in ETERNITY WITH JESUS.... 5/31/2022😥😥😥 Oh! What it did for my heart ❤️ LIKE A BIG HUG FROM GOD TO SAY SHE'S DOING FINE NOW. 😔😪😪😪😔☝️☝️💖😌😊 I have NO DOUBT...I WILL SEE HER AGAIN ☝️💖 Texas Nana 🤠 Psalm 91 6/12/2022
Is it bad for me that I am practicing piano a lot and I’m getting a lot better but I’m only practicing with those RU-vid videos that have the notes coming down the screen and I know very little about music theory myself I don’t even know how to read sheet music that’s more complicated than beginner do you think this is a bad way of learning?
I think it depends on what your long term goals are for piano? Would you like to be able to sight read? Or do you just want to play songs you know to give your mind a break from the day? I've been playing for 15+ years, all self-taught, and can say that I am no where near the experience level, nor have the music theory knowledge, of a pianist who has studied and practiced that long. I bet there are children in their 2nd year of lessons who know more than I do. Sometimes that fact makes me feel like I failed - like I should've took lessons, tried harder. It makes me think how much better could I be right now? I guess I would say take lessons if you're really interested in sticking with piano in the future - because if I could do it over again, that's what I would do. I wish you the best with your musical journey!
What is the correct pronunciation of Syts? I want to promote your music on my Podcast and prefer to get it right. Thanks for being so willing to share your creation. I bought the sheet music...all 8 pages!
@@syts Thanks. That's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I will use both that and your full last name Sytsma, plus send you a link privately, when I talk about your music.
Please Please please do one of those light waterfall tutorials of this song... im not quite sure what it's actually called but I REEEEAAAALLYY would love it if you could do it somehow 😂😉😍😊
Hello! I sent a message to your facebook page, but I'll ask here as well. I would love to use some of your composures in our videos featuring nature/waterfalls that we visit. How would I go about getting permissions to use your music? We would give you full credit in the end frames and descriptions of course.
Thanks for reaching out! To be honest, I'm not sure exactly how it all works. I will say you have my permission. RU-vid will probably still flag the video, but all you have to do is click "allow" or "agree" or whatever and they'll still let you post and share it. Thanks for wanting to use my music! I'd love to see the videos once you get them done!
