We've been in Bali, Indonesia for just over 4 weeks now and have met so many friendly people. We love it here, and the views are incredible! We hung out with our friends for 3 weeks straight, checking out markets, enjoying plenty of Bintangs (local beer!), & relaxing at our villa pools.
In Ubud, we finally had the chance to test out our DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, capturing shots of the rice terraces. We also visited the Sacred Monkey Forest, where the monkeys were very attracted to my silver anklet (PSA: do not wear jewelry to the monkey forest or make sure your permanent jewelry is covered!). The Sayan Night Market was another highlight, with local food, drinks, and items to purchase. We indulged in a 5-hour spa day with full body wraps, massages, head/hair treatments, foot massages, and delicious ginger tea. Our sunrise Jeep tour to Mount Batur, an active volcano, provided a breathtaking view of the sunrise. We went white water rafting with a fun guide whose motto was "NO WET NO FUN," and we made sure to get drenched. We also had a quad adventure, which included rolling the quad on its side (oops lol). We went to a coffee plantation and tried Kopi Luwak, which has a pretty gross process (you should look it up on Google), but the coffee wasn't bad. We visited many waterfalls, including Banyumala Waterfall.
Next, we traveled to Munduk, which became our fave spot due to its relaxing and mountainous environment. We stayed at Elevate Bali, where the view overlooking the valley from our infinity pool was unreal! Despite the rain, we enjoyed our time at the villa, ordering room service, dining at the onsite restaurant, and experiencing the sauna and head massages at the spa. We also got in a yoga class!
In Seminyak, we stayed near Eat Street, a popular area filled with tons of restaurants. We explored different foods and checked out the nightlife. Unfortunately, Gerhard got really sick for about 2 days, but he recovered just in time for our snorkeling trip by making his top-secret Get Well Green Tea lol. Although we got caught in a storm and didn't see any manta rays, we saw lots of colorful fish. We spent time on the beach, watching Colton master his surfing skills, and enjoying massages and Bintangs. The Beachwalk Shopping Center in Kuta Beach was another great spot for us to visit. We also tried Muay Thai and Pilates for the first time and loved both! I gave surfing a try but epically failed haha.
