People see an ounce of similarity in them and can’t put together that they are still entirely unique from each other

Unless they changed it crypto is used just because of rp factor. If you scan enemies or emp while they get downed/killed you gain an assist

Also ranked is pretty passive so he can be in drone mode more often

Crypto is great with a dedicated team. Most people don't have that though

With Caustic and Gibby getting more plays, so will Crypto. His EMP has always been a good counter towards both of their tacticals and retrieving banners are risk free.

Tournaments are played entirely differently than pubs/ranked. It's much more passive, with the entire lobby often still being alive well into zone 3/4. A character having viability in tournaments =/= that character being viable in pubs/ranked. The fact of the matter is that Crypto just requires sooooooooooooooooo much to get even a tiny bit of value out of. It's like a tube of toothpaste that you have to squeeze and squeeze and squeeze and do that little roll up thing then squeeze some more, just to get 1 tiny dollop out of it; at this point, you just need a new tube of toothpaste, just as Crypto needs a massive rework that he's thankfully getting.

@@MLCLAN_SG if we’re talking about ult then yes but in almost every other aspect maybe not

@@RoninBlade-ls5ex replacing is meaning making the other character obsolete which ash doesnt do to octane. The pad comes back quicker and servers more uses such as rotations and going in and out of fights, you cannot do that with ash ult so its not really a replacement.

@@MLCLAN_SG what?? Ash’s ult does the exact same thing in a different way and I’d argue it’s much safer. Also pretty sure the time difference between Ash’s and octanes ult is 0 if not close, and with an ash ult you can’t get shot out of the air, you can also take high ground much easier with her ult, you can take or leave a fight just like the jump pad and the port disappears unlike a jump pad which means your routes can be used against you. Edit: ash ult takes 30 secs longer then octanes, but it can still be used for rotations, it’s not as long as wraiths port
