Great video pan. I appreciate the one month follow up. As for me, I'm not worried about claims made by any company, as a business owner, i understand how marketing works. For that reason i am only interested in actual performance. Having said that, in your own video, the behavior on the door panel, (not to mention the windshield) is not living up to the standards of this is "a beading product". One month in with only two washes, this is a bit disappointing. I received my cerakote for free, but my labor in prepping the vehicle will be lost. I am actually planning on applying cerakote to a family vehicle this Christmas weekend. That car has only been treated with beadmaker so far. I am OCD with detailing and will follow the instructions exactly. I did so with CSL and exo v5 and am having a better experience with gtechniq than many claim going on almost 7 months now. Even after a few dry runs with my wipers on my windshield (stupid Tesla and its autowipers), the windshield is still beading great with the paint coating applied there. I share these opinions not to bash the company, but because we are a community and sharing knowledge and experience is why this community has so much value. I have seen better results from quality spray ceramic sealants, heck if its only 1 month or 2 washes beadmaker on a prepped surface works just as well. I live in southern California with very mild weather, the car is garaged overnight, and soon will not even be a daily driver. This should give the cerakote coating the best chances to succeed. I don't really have a platform to share my results, but hopefully as you do updates along the way i can share my results with the community as well .

Pan don’t look at weather water is beading or not that means nothing The water is beading because of an indicator in the coating you really want a hydrophilic something that sheets the problem is you can’t see it work

Yes they will hopefully see my videos and updates, and also read my viewers' real world feedback. I am confident they take this at heart as they seem motivated to release good products. They have a proven track record so far, so if they need to improve this product, I'm sure they will. They certainly have the factory and talented chemists to do so.

Thanks Glenn. Yes videos take time to make. And even just scheduling a vehicle in for an update can be hard as people have lives and more important things to do than have their vehicle available for me to to do an update video on haha. And thanks for sharing your thoughts in a respectful manner. People need to realize that nobody can predict the outcome of a product without being able to actually test. Initial impressions can be great but you still need time and see how it actually performs in your specific conditions, and that’s what I’m doing as I did for many products in the past. Time will tell how well this product performs. From what I have seen so far, it seems more sensitive to prep or application errors, and certainly to application temperatures. Those applying in 45-50F temperatures don’t seem to be getting good results. I always detail in a perfect controlled environment, so at least I remove any such variables from the equation. At least the risk with this product is non existant. Pros get a kit for free and DIYers can ask for a refund if they’re not satisfied. I haven’t seen any other brand do this. Cerakote is simply asking that people put their product to the test, so that is what we’re doing.

I purchased the 2 bottle kit for my wife and I vehicles. Followed all their recommend steps. Came out awesome!! The ease of application, slickness and gloss is insane. I thought 2 bottles would be enough for both vehicle but the first vehicle took a little more then one bottle. Contacted Cerakote customer service and they apologize and sent me another bottle for free. That’s customer service. Thanks Pan for all your great videos!!

Thanks for this follow up video from a Montreal follower ! I look at a few detailers video but I must say following a car like you do after having a ceramic coating applied is the best way to teach us as well as prove your hunch with this product is the right one! As a engineer I like to see the results so I can have a great coating on our cars !!! I did not finish your video when posting this message, I am going back to see the end. Great job !!

Great video as usual, Pan. And THANK YOU for showing an everyday car w/no garage care. Some of us don't have shelter for our cars. Please keep doing a follow up on this vehicle if possible. I live in the PA rust belt & want to get the maximum info/ protection. I had mine professionally ceramic coated 4yrs ago & they advertise exoctic customers they have, not average people. U dont do that. And I DID see Josh's video & he too, is down to earth. Merry🎄Christmas & a Prosperous New Year. 👍

Thanks man! Scheduling these customer vehicles back for updates is always a pain as people have busy lives and they don’t really care that I have RU-vid video updates to make about their vehicle, but I will do my best to continue with the updates as I’m also always curious to see how products perform when applied to daily drivers and especially on vehicles exposed to the elements all the time. Happy holidays!

Thank you for the update, Pan. I am a DIY detailer who ordered the Cerakote Ceramic Coating following your tour of their Oregon facility. I’ve been waiting to apply the product to my 2021 Santa Fe until I was able to view some of the feedback pertaining to application tips/experiences. Today’s video showed me that there should be no hesitation to use Cerakote as long as the application instructions are closely followed. I have also been wondering about applying Cerakote to the vehicle’s glass. I think following your testing, I’ll purchase a separate product for glass use.

Thank you Pan. I have really got into detailing thanks to your videos. I used Turtle Wax HS line and Cerakote Trim on our 2 cars with excellent results. I have gotten over 6 months out of the initial application (full decon, clay bar, 2 applications of ceramic with 24 hour cure between) so far and both cars coatings are holding up extremely well. I do a full wipe down 1-2 times per week with TW ceramic detailer. Full wash about 1-2 months use TW HS Wet wax to dry. I suspect because I am cleaning and “topping” the ceramic so regularly it will continue to hold up for a year if not longer. Ceramic is amazing and is a game changer. So easy to keep the cars clean.

Hi Pan, Honest and true video. Yes I believe everyone that watches your channel like I do trust your opinion. We all thank you for that. I personally as a DIY'er myself bought the Cerakote after seeing your demo video. I will be applying it on a customers car in the next month. I will do my best to video before and after then upload it to my account. I would have loved to get some free but I didn't have a license required for the form online. Anyway I will keep you informed on how it goes because I know you read all the comments. Thank you for all that you do.

Pan, I am so glad I came across your channel. I bought a new car last October after trading in my 1996 Mercedes (I still have my 1996 Isuzu Trooper, and they both still look good and run great). I’ve always maintained my cars properly, and regularly washed and waxed them. But the finish on my new car was so nice, I researched ceramic coatings, and I watched many videos, and came across your channel. I eventually decided on a particular brand of coating, but was hesitant since many video tutorials made it seem so difficult. Then a week after getting the car, I hit a puddle of fresh white road paint and didn’t notice it all over the right side of my car. The next day it took me hours to carefully peel all of the semi-dried paint splatters from the door panels and wheels with my finger nail (the wheel wells will have to wait), and decided to go ahead and order the ceramic kit. Then I saw your video touring the Cerakote factory, and the incredible deal you described, and I immediately ordered it to be air-shipped, since cold weather was coming. The following Friday I called Cerakote to get a status on my order, and was told that due to a computer system error, that all air orders were shipped by ground. I became a little upset because I knew freezing weather was coming after that weekend, and I don’t have a heated garage. But Cerakote offered to ship another kit overnight all at their expense, and that I could keep the ground-shipped kit when it arrived. And I was told that I would not be disappointed. It arrived the following Monday morning, and by that afternoon I was doing the neutral wash and the temps dropped quickly while I was drying, leaving ice all over my car. I took off work the next day, and after the temperature rose, I finished drying the car and wiped it down with the prep spray, and then started applying the Cerakote. It went on very easily, but I don’t have any experience to compare to. I then waited about 7 minutes for each section since it was cold out, but not freezing. Wiping off each section and then buffing with a fresh towel was extremely easy compared to wax, so I kept going working my way around the car. Cerakote’s FAQ mentioned doing additional coats if desired, waiting 15 minutes between coats, so I did 2 coats, and I was able to do the external bodywork of a compact SUV and still had some left in the bottle. I then put 2 coats on one of the wheels, and finished for the day. And I thought it all looked really good. Until the next morning, when it looked really great. As if it had been slightly cloudy the evening before, and it became crystal clear overnight as it further cured. The metal flake had more depth, and looked more 3-dimensional. I couldn’t wait to see it in the sunlight. And there was a noticeable difference between the coated left front wheel and the un-coated left rear wheel. Not much, but it was noticeable. I then applied 2 coats to the remaining wheels, and then the running boards, door jams, and the rear hatch jams. The car came with piano black b-pillar plastic trim and the spoiler trim full of swirl marks, so I ordered an Adams hand polishing kit and got rid of the swirl marks, then applied the Cerakote to the spoiler trim pieces and they look great (haven’t had time to coat the b-pillars yet). Also applied it to the windshield, the back window, and the wiper blades. I have only had the car in one light rain and really didn’t have to use the wipers much, since the Cerakote acted like Rain-X at higher speeds, but the next morning after the car dried in the garage, it looked like it had just been washed and waxed, and it still does after more than a month. Conclusions The first thing that I noticed after buffing out a section of the hood, the paint felt slick but not oily, like wax does. Now, a month later, the car doesn’t even look dusty. But my truck, which was waxed, does look dusty. I think the wax tends to attract and hold the dust, where the Cerakote, not having that oily surface, doesn’t hold the dust. That’s probably why it always looks freshly waxed. I did 2 thinner coats to ensure complete coverage, but they weren’t thin enough to cause the applicator to drag. Pan’s Easy Brilliance video, which came out a few days after I first used the Cerakote, shows him initially dowsing the applicator. Now that I know, I could have used just 1 heavier coat and saved some time. I coated the textured black plastic trim along the running boards, around the wheel wells, and part of the bumper. I hit a mud puddle while driving in the rain, and after the car dried, there were only a few small specs of mud on the plastic right behind the front wheels. The Cerakote should help to keep the mud off until I convince myself to spend the $250 on OEM mud flaps. Can’t say for sure because I don’t want to test it, but I believe if I had used the Cerakote before hitting the puddle of road paint, the paint splatters would have come off of the doors and lower plastic trim much easier. When I contacted Cerakote to inquire about my order, they went way above and beyond what I expected after I realized I wasn’t going to be doing the 2 coating projects that I had planned for that weekend before the drop in temps. I did end up having to endure cold temps, but that’s just my bad timing, like with the paint splatters. The ease of application and the results of the Cerakote made up for it. My father’s new car is just going to have to wait. The questions I had about coating plastic and glass were immediately answered with a phone call to Cerakote tech support. I got Cerakote Rapid Ceramic and a Cerakote Ceramic Headlight kit for my girlfriend’s car. The Rapid Ceramic went on so quick and easy, and it is holding up very well. Even after the 40% off sale is over, the ease and results of the Cerakote Professional Ceramic Paint Coating make regular wax obsolete. After watching numerous videos to learn about ceramic coating, what it is and how to apply it, Pan’s videos are definitely the best. drive.google.com/file/d/1cjnxP5ZggvDKIGyKAKUMdBF1oZZw6X2X/view?usp=drive_link

Hi Dave! First, thanks for sharing your personal experience with such detail. Truly amazing that you would take the time to be as precise. Certainly, cold weather isn't ideal for applying any coating. Most brands don't recommend going below 50F (10C) and I certainly always work at ideal 68F (20C) temps. But it seems that you still were able to get the job done, and seem super happy with the results. Goes to show that different people can experience different things in different conditions. It will be interesting to have your feedback later down the line, just like I'm also looking forward to future updates with this test vehicle, and more products as I always do. And yes, it's more than one person that talks about the high level of customer service Cerakote has offered to make things right, even sometimes reshipping fresh bottles or doing other little extras even if they don't have to. I also have to thank you for the kind words about my videos and tutorials. I really try to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers, to make detailing accessible for everyone to enjoy! Happy holidays!

Great video Pan! Performance from your test looks great, other than where the windshield wipers went and I appreciate you showing that. As you mentioned, the people from Cerakote are beyond top notch and some of the nicest people I’ve met. When you went over their claims in the brochure it does point out that their claims are extremely accurate and not overstated, again time will tell for overall durability but so far so good. I really appreciate their approach to durability claims and shining some light on performance of coatings. When I spoke with the ceo he did mention like you said that it is a beading coating and although the door seems to do both bead and sheet water, I am ok with that since the water is getting off the panel so quickly which makes my life easier when drying vehicles. I’m testing on my own as well but for me in San Diego my vehicles don’t get as exposed to the one you used (quite dirty from the winters in Canada ha) so I really love seeing the performance you’re getting in those conditions!

Your background with science and knowledge of these coating makes it so much easy to understand the behavior of chemicals. I watch your channel to learn in depth about the chemicals and use them on my client's cars. The two coating I have stuck with is Carpro and Adams. Did good quality testing on them and I can say they perform the best for me (CarPro 3 year coating is still on the SUV I coated in 2017). Proper maintenance is key to all the coating. I will try this Cerakote pretty soon. Thanks for all the info. Have a very happy and prosperous New Year.

CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 is still an excellent coating, always gives me 2 years of protection. It had taken many awards over the years for best consumer grade coating in the past, but not in the latest 2023 edition, as it has been surpassed in terms of durability and one layer coatings in the past years, so they need to update the formula to version 4.0 in my opinion. I have been testing the Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating for over 2 years on my girlfriend's vehicle and it's still going strong. I made the 2 year update here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9IeOra2fJlw.htmlsi=69Wcscja5yYD19Tj Happy new year

Thanks Pan. I, too , read some of the negative comments on other channels. I appreciate how you always take the high road even though some of the comments were very negative towards you personally. There will always be those negative, unhappy people in the world who to them the cup is always half empty. Personally, I have learned so much from your videos and appreciate the time and effort that you put in to bring us quality instruction and products. Do you receive money from sponsors? I certainly hope so as you bring their products to many potential customers. Are you biased toward these sponsors products because you received compensation? I don't think so as I feel that you feel a responsibility more to your followers than to your sponsors. Sponsors come and go and if they don't like honest critique of their products, then sponsor someone else who cares more about the money than their reputation as influencers. Sorry for the long comment, but I just wanted you to know that there are many of us who truly appreciate what you do.

Thanks for the kind words and support Randy. There are so many things you are right with here. The main issue I often see if jealousy and envy. Some people just look at bigger successful channels and although they won't admit directly, who would?, they try and start drama and indirectly or directly try to attack, diminish, belittle, intimidate and do other things to try and raise themselves. Instead of working harder to produce better content themselves, they get frustrated that their channel isn't growing, and try to stir negativity which can draw short term small increases in views, but I have seen that these tactics usually backfire and the channels become irrelevant. Now these negative drama creators will hide behind phrases like "I don't care about the views or the subscribers" to which I laugh hardly. Whey do you monetize your channel then? If the answer is "Because I want to share the truth!" then again, I know there is a hidden agenda behind this, and that usually means a person is trying to release their own line of products, and tries to justify their existance or market themselves as better by bashing on brands. Not a good business tactic, and this too will fail in the long run. If your products are so good, just let them speak for themselves. Why would you even begin to try and bash another person or another brand? Nobody will make me believe that is the right way to approach things. Sure you can have your personal opinion on things. That's the freedom of speech. And I myself am a firm believer in it. But it's how you deliver your message that makes all the difference. If you use foul language, if you resort to be condescending, if you resort to bashing, if you attempt defamation, those are not the way mature adults go about conducting themselves. So I always try to set the right example in my videos. And certainly content creators should have zero tolerance for those that are only there to stir negativity for a few clicks and views. That hurts the industry as a whole, and creates division instead of uniting. What some viewers from other channels sometimes also fail to understand is that it's normal for a channel the size of mine to have opportunities to partner with brands for some sponsored content. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you give proper disclosures, which I have always done. I have the pop up at the beginning of a sponsored video that clearly states "Paid promotion", as well as verbally mentioning this in the video and I also leave a full disclosure in the video's description. I abide by RU-vid rules and regulations. Some content creators don't disclose paid promotions, and that's not ok. So the smaller channels can try and use this to their advantage by saying "I don't make sponsored videos". Well sure you don't, no company partners with channels where the size of the audience isn't large enough. It's like this in any industry, not just detailing. Case in point, my first sponsored video was only when I had close to 150,000 subscribers. When I had less than 100,000 subs, I too weren't making any sponsored content, as brands don't see a potential in that. Again, that is normal. Believe me, when channels have the opportunity to grow at a point where they can help support all the content creation with a few sponsored content, as long as it's done right and with good intentions, it should be seen as a good thing. It doesn't cost anything for a viewer to watch RU-vid videos. So for the content creator that has to buy camera gear, computers, software, products, tools, equipment, travel to go to shows, etc those things are costly and add up. Are we really expecting content creators to do everything out of pocket just for our entertainment? I certainly don't. What is important to me is staying true to myself. I partner with brands I believe in, with good people behind the brands. But I also always tell the brands that the products will still undergo my thorough real world tests, and if they don't pan out (pun intended hehe) my audience will know, as I do updates on as many products as I can. It's a lot of work to do all of this, and I try my best to share my findings with my viewers. In the end, there's a reason why my channel has risen to the cream of the crop at nearly 1 million subscribers. I have viewers like you who understand and fully support me, and know I will always give them time of day through my replies to comments, and give them my honest opinion on things. Thank you for your comment! :)

Happy to add my two cents here - I have applied it on 2 cars so far since you introduced it Pan, my sons 2005 Toyota Tacoma, and my daughters 2014 Mazda 6. Will apply again when we get our new BMW shortly. The shine is great, but in my opinion a lot of that is due to the paint prep steps you outline so great in your videos. Too soon to tell how it will hold up (applied both within last two weeks). For those curious, it took me 11 hours of going through all the paint prep steps and coating application. Gives me great appreciation for the professional detailers out there, and why it can be expensive to get this professionally done - it takes a lot of time to get the paint ready. It took me and my son 6.5 hours to do his Tacoma. Steps were as follows (thank you again Pan for all your videos that outline what to do and your question feedback) - wash with foam and hand wash, Iron X for chemical, and clay towel for mechanical, decontamination. Then used 3D One for compound/polish. Then CarPro Eraser for complete paint wipe (alcohol), then the Cerakote Ceramic Coating. For those wondering, the ceramic coating itself is extremely easy to apply, and extremely easy to remove (waiting 5 minute after application per panel). Again time will tell how it will hold up. Having done two cars, I feel ready to tackle my new Beamer when it arrives. Thanks again Pan for the update and look forward to more of them. For the cost and ease of application, I can see why you call it a disruptor.

Pan - THANK YOU! I didn't think I would sit through a 78-minute, 1-month update video; but then I started to understand the ulterior motive of this video. It went way beyond a product update. I'm with you; I get SO tired of people who have nothing better to do than create chaos, hate, and discontent. They ignore facts, solicit angry emotions, and provide nothing constructive. Sadly, that seems to be the case with almost everything online these days. Again, thank you! Regarding the product, I've taken advantage of the deal as a DIY'er. Unfortunately, my garage is not climate controlled, so I'm still eagerly awaiting the opportunity to test Cerakote. I will definitely post an update. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, and I wish you a very prosperous New Year. God bless.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 месяцев назад
Thanks James!! I highly appreciate your feedback, and I agree with you 100%. Also, I would add that it's unfortunate that on social media, some like to take advantage of a channel's popularity to make themselves gain views. But negativity usually backfires on them, and they become irrelevant. The past has proven this. I will always remain objective and I will continue to do my tests as I always do and report to my audience when possible. If a product is good, it's good. We'll know. Time will tell. If it's bad, it's bad, we can move on to something else. I can't even believe there are videos out there trying to bash a $30/bottle product that ultimately is free for pros to try, or DIYers who buy it can ask for a refund if they're unhappy. Zero financial risk. How can we get mad about that? I'm puzzled. At the end of the day, if we give other brands opportunities to get constructive feedback, the same should be done for Cerakote. If this product somehow doesn't live up to expectations, they should be allowed to review data and feedback, and come up with a better version as they have the capacity to do so. They produce their own products. I also hope you had a Merry Christmas, and I wish you the best New Year!!

Thanks for sharing!! Yeah it’s important that one does tests to see what works best in their conditions. I have seen viewers say CSL lasts for 9-12 months and others like you that get 3+ years. Same applies for any coating: many variables can impact long term durability. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for sharing! Happy holidays to you as well. And I agree with you. Initial observations and impressions when applying it are great gloss and slickness and how easy it was to apply. Not enough people talk about this.
@NGLceramic
@NGLceramic 7 месяцев назад
@@PanTheOrganizer you my friend just said it best. Prep and following any instructions is key, and yes being in the right controlled environment is crucial for great results. The gloss and slickness on a black Ford Raptor I did was amazing. It looked like it was wet. I agree with what you said, the only way to know is to try it for yourself. I feel being in Northeast Georgia, I should get great results from this product. Since we do not have harsh winters like you have. Cerakote has already sent me 2 free sample packages. No one else has ever sent me 4 free bottles. To me that says a lot about a company, and the loyalty they show to us. Loved the update and routing for the subsequent updates. I'm on my second week with Cerakote, did first wash with n914. I didn't try on the windshield because i ran out and didn't want to use the 2nd bottle, no snow/salt roads here, my doors are still beading water like their video, i think I'm on the same page about 95% of day 1 for now. Car is normally in the garage 4 days a week, but it was outside a day and driven in a rain storm this week. I think i see a water spot issue coming up next based on close examination with lights, extreme hydrophobics increases the risk of mineral deposit from the environment. I use di water for rinseless, and luckily winter is mild here; this isnt even an issue for me in other seasons. I bought DiyD waterspot remover but I will keep carpro descale on my list in case i need alternative for a ceramic safe mineral remover (edit looks like descale not safe on this). I think that's what's happening to your customer's door right behind the wheel, this coating builds up scale very fast. Haven't done a contact wash yet, probably will do a touchless neutral foam at the 1 month mark. Contact wash for me might not be needed for many months based upon how my car is treated and Cerakote keeps car clean longer ("self cleaning"). Cerakote CEO confirmed in the IMJOSHV video that this is a non silicon dioxide formula so no hardening.

decontaminated and corrected the paint on my M5. just finished applying cerakote last night. applying the product was simple and the beading sweating characteristics were easy to identify. I allowed the coat to set for appx. 5-6 min per panel, temp appx. 68 degrees, garaged. What I noticed immediately was how slick the surfaces are and the gloss. 1 month update: I keep my car garaged and have washed the car 3 times since I applied the coat. The gloss and shine is still outstanding and the surfaces are still slick to touch. My experiences washing the car have been interesting. The water beading is wild, I don’t see much sheeting even on the lower portion of the door panels. The only complaint I have is that when I’m applying the foam, the paint is too slick and much of it just slides off 😂. Cerakote is working fine so far here in SoCal. I did not have any prior experience with applying ceramic coats and I noticed that the bottle sounded like there was sand inside when shaken, so as a precaution, I shook the bottle like crazy every time I applied the coating to the applicator. Will report back once the coat starts to diminish.

tbh, i’m kinda disappointed, everytime i wash my car, i feel as though i’m wasting money because carpro lift is not cheap. it continues to glide off of the car because the surface is so slick. i’m truly impressed by the product and am glad that I took the extra time to let the cerakote cure. i haven’t noticed a difference from the hood, trunk and the door panels, the beading is consistent.

I just used this product on an Audi Q5. I an not a professional but I have done about 10 car with products like CarPro Quartz UK 3.0, SiC, Geon's Mohs. I can tell you that I was stunned but the gloss and the slickness that I got. No other product came close. This is out of this world. The hood was a real mirror. I have a photo where you can see me and the celling as clear as a mirror. It was super easy to apply. I cannot say anything about the hydrophobicity. Time will tell. So far I would say this is the best product I have used.

Thanks Maurice! I like to test different products from different brands. I'm not sold to just one brand. And I like to be thorough in my testing. It's possible to like a product on initial impressions after application, but we need time to test how it does in the real world over time. Nobody can claim they have a crystal ball and predict an outcome of a product based on just looking at a bottle hehe. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I’m still new to this and like to do as much research as I can about a product before purchasing. I have also had a similar issue with a product everyone touted as a solid product (hydro2). It is what it is. I think the issue is how the cerakote was touted to be better than all of the products that they produces. Who knows, it’s new and we all know new products may have kinks to be worked out. It could even be an issue of something that happens in shipping or something that’s causing issues for people, like temperature fluctuations that they don’t see at the factory. I will continue following to see how it holds up and compare it to the other coatings I’m still researching.
@PanTheOrganizer

You are absolutely right. There isn’t a single protection product I can think of that a viewer hasn’t had a bad experience with. Not a single one. And with almost 1000 videos on my channel and almost one million subscribers, it allows me to get tons of feedback and see how things do. I work in a controlled environment when applying things and that’s not always the case for everyone. Also my conditions differ from others, so there are so many variables possible. All one can do is do their research as you said and see what works best for them.

Hi Pan, I did try this coating on one of my test hoods. Looked beautiful, felt great. Held up to Adams, but I did a round of descale and active foam and it seemed to degrade. Had CanCoat and Seal n Shine on the other 2 sections. The CanCoat and Seal n Shine held up. I am a huge fan of their Trim restore product, and have no doubt they will come up with a better v2 of their Ceramic coating in the next year or so, and I’ll try it again. For now I don’t trust their current Ceramic coating formula because I have to use the stronger soaps every now and then in my environment. Great content.

Yeah they realized they had an issue with the curing mechanism, so they are working on the new version. They are currently testing it. I'm hopeful that once they fix that issue, it will be a great coating especially for the price point. Because yeah they nailed it as far as gloss and slickness are concerned. It really does feel great when you touch it after the initial application.

I honestly think that this is all a great lesson to everyone. Nothing is guaranteed. We watch all these great RU-vid content creators and read reviews to gain some experience that we otherwise may not have ever got. Then we make our own purchasing decisions. None of these RU-vidrs are responsible for the product that you buy. That is between you and the seller. I think everyone from this community shares valuable knowledge but that’s it. I would have never found any of these products as quickly as I have without Pan, Obsessed garage, Josh, Eddie colon, any others that I didn’t name here. They are only here to help and not to tell you exactly what to buy if a product fails that is now the seller. We should all stop blaming and just be adults here. If something is new wait and be methodical about something. If it is new just know you will be part of the test group and know that you need to contact the company or manufacturer. When I go to car dealer for a tire and the tire is made incorrectly I wouldn’t blame the dealer for a tire being made wrong I would blame the tire manufacturer. The dealer just helped me install the tire. Understand it’s knowledge and help and nothing more.

I recently purchased the 12oz spray of cerakote. It's instructions said to gently shake for ten seconds. Pouring the product into a glass after a vigorous shake I could see there were chunks of the product not yet broken down it would seem the more you shake the better.

No matter how you pronounce drama, it’s kind of funny that there’s so much of it. 😂 I would probably make for the easiest to satisfy customer because forgive me but I’m not concerned about beading or hydrophobics. It’s a cool effect and it helps with washing the car but personally, I’m obsessed with gloss, shine and slickness. That’s what brings me satisfaction after doing any kind of wash on my car as I did today when I ended by using Cerakote’s rapid ceramic paint sealant. Side note, I wish they would change the sprayer on that rapid paint sealant bottle. I also have the Cerakote ceramic coating but haven’t used it yet because of all the rain we’ve been getting. Great video Pan, with some really strong thought out points. Although I regularly apply Ceramics for customers, I dont recommend them and and dont use them on my own vehicles. I have a C63 Booked in early January that my customer has requested Cerakote Ceramic on and this should be a good UK test vehicle. It spends most of its time away from me in the harsh Scottish Highlands but comes back monthly for maintenance washes, I'll let you know how it survives! As a pro, my preference is a good wax, and my personal choices are Fusso Soft 99 or more recently Geyon Q2 wax., both of which stand alone will last 6 to 9 months in harsh North East England conditions, so long as they are not subjected to the awful hand scratch washes we have in abundance over here!. I also find that a quality SI02 can be used stand alone to good effect, though these are sensitive to correct prep and application in the right conditions to avoid streaking. So why dont I like ceramics? Well keeping the vehicle 24 hours under cover to cure is a pain, they are a pian to remove if the car ever needs paint, but perhaps mostly because I think they give customers a false sense of security and promote careless maintenance washing ,much like a lot of 4x4 drivers come unstuck pushing to hard in snow! Each to his own though and as you say "do what works for you"

Then they fail and they just say “Oh but I didn’t really care about views or subscribers” 😂😂 Yeah ok there buddy! 😂 If you start your brand, focus on doing it the right way. Not bashing others to try and sell your products. Horrible business practices. Let your products speak for themselves. Those style of influencers will see their channels become obsolete and irrelevant. Proof is right there for everyone to see. Zero growth. The level of disrespect from some rotten apples in the industry is disgusting. But karma will hit them in the face one day.

@PanTheOrganizer I agree I'm a small business owner just started a year ago, I'm Mobile and I've had customers that have had other guys in the same industry work on their cars that weren't satisfy with the job and they will tell me they are horrible they talk about about the level of work they did but I never trash then to get business I just tell then well I'm here now and I will take care of your car needs. Everyone professionalism isn't the same but bashing others to clients or to anyone in general to make a bit of money isn't worth your reputation at the end of the day. Honesty and just being clear with clients is what always have then call me back. It just sucks to see that for an industry that I've enjoyed as a weekend warrior and now as a small business the level of stupidity and envy towards others just to get a view or just to push your product. I've always been the type to try it out and if it doesn't work to my liking then I just don't buy it anymore doesn't mean it won't work for you but for my standards it's just wasn't a fit. So I coated it with Torque Spray Ceramic about 2 years ago. I’m sure it is gone by now. I will be doing a light polish before I apply the CERAKOTE. Just some light swirl marks on the hood. If you have any recommendations other than a polish or on prep let me know. I have been taking this to a car wash the last couple of years as well. As I told you I’m getting back into detailing again so turning over a new leaf. Just curious if you have ever heard of Torque before. It seemed to work pretty well initially.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 месяцев назад
I haven't used their products. For sure for the best prep, like I did in the video, would be to do: - a decon wash using a stripping soap like CarPro Descale - then iron remover for embedded iron particles and brake dust - then clay the surface if it needs it (if you haven't clayed in over 6 months it most likely needs it, run your fingers on the lower parts of the doors and if you feel grit or contamination, it's time to clay) - then machine polish which will not only make the paint glossier but also ensure 100% removal of any previous protection that might still be on the paint - then a full IPA wipedown with a panel prep spray to remove polishing oils (crucial) - and then you apply the coating as per directions. Work in temperatures as close to 68F (20C) as possible. I don't recommend applying coatings in cold temperatures, certainly not anything below 50F (10C). Other than that, the application should be pretty simple. It goes on like butter, and it wipes like butter.
@mikehazel9131
@mikehazel9131 7 месяцев назад
@@PanTheOrganizer sorry I meant to say I was going to clay the RAV4. I have the Rag Company Ultra Clay towel. What would you use for clay lube. DIY Ceramic Gloss spray? Also confused about using detail products as lube. Seems like you then need to remove that before you ceramic coat the car. As for decon I have CarPro Reset. Will that take off iron and scale or do I still need an iron remover and descale. If so recommendation for iron remover? I do have a heated shop so no issue on temperature. I have the Active 2.0 pressure washer. My foam cannon that came with it is 20oz.(600ml). Do I use the recommendation of 10:1 for dilution ratio. Not getting good foam.

I commented on the last video that I wouldn't recommend this product and I stand by that. I went through all the proper steps from a decon, claybar mechanical polishing, and panel prep. When I was done applying the product I was so happy with the results, slickness, and ease of use of the product. After 3 weeks I was disappointed in how it wasn't beading the water like it should have been on the lower panels, and just sheeting, but the upper panels were fine. I used Carpro reset for the handwashed on the vehicle as well. I'm sure the protection is still there and ended up using Gyeon wet coat as a topper, and will have to keep using through the winter to get me through till I can coat it again. I'm not saying that Cerakote is a bad product, but there are better out there for cheaper, if your going through all the steps to ceramic coat your vehicle. I'm sure Cerakote will hopefully correct and tweak their formular to make it one of the top ceramic coats, but in its current form this isn't it. I used Nano bond off amazon and never used a topper for about 2 months after, and now 7 months later it still beads way better then the Cerakote. I ended up paying about $140 Canadian for the Cerakote vs $60 for the Nano bond. I did just buy some Bead maker, and dream maker and will mix them for the clean maker to use after every wash. Thanks for the Videos Pan.

I ordered the kit and when it arrived one of the bottles had leaked significantly. After a thorough prep I applied the leaked bottle to about half a cx9. It seemed to work fine and I was happy with the results. Next day put the other bottle on it seemed like I was working with two different products. the gloss was noticeably more and the shine was deeper. After three ski trips to the Colorado mountains the car was a mess. I took it to self serve and decrudded it. The crap flew off and the beading was insane. Followed with a rinseless wash in the garage. A spritz of Titan for drying aid and it looks amazing. Time will tell but so far I am happy.

No beading on the doors, IMO the coating has failed there. A beading coating thats now sheeting is worn off and has failed. Cerakote claims this is a beading coating, which it only will be on the less exposed panels.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 месяцев назад
There is some beading but the lower part seems to have turned more to a quick sheeter. That’s a valid observation. Certainly beading like on the hood would have been better, but all we can do at this point is continue testing. If needed I will do a decon style wash with higher pH snow foam and acidic shampoo to see if that can revive the water behaviour, but at least for now, I will follow their recommendations of just using a pH neutral shampoo as we can at least remove that from the equation, nobody can blame improper maintenance if you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

I’m sorry … this should not be happening after 1 month for a ceramic coating. I think their other products are top notch, but back to the drawing board for durability on this one. Disclaimer … I did purchase the product, but this should be a rock star after 1 month. Thanks for sharing Pan. What’s outlandish is the comment re: hundreds of washes … a simpler spray sealant performs better durability wise. If it’s excellent, there’s no need for such a long explanatory video.

I honestly think cerakote had good intentions of making a good coating but even in my personal experience it failed after two washes with a PH neutral soap.. maybe they rushed the product due to demand and we got a weaker batch shipped out.. I followed instructions to the T as well.. you can’t sugar coat anything with the “ it sheets pretty quick “ cerakote made it very clear it was a beading product and it has proven itself numerous times with numerous tests that the hydrophobic properties fail rapidly.. very disappointing because I got the free kit and bought 4 because I’ve always enjoyed Al of their products… this one just missed the mark
