1 month with the Jimny has changed me | Malayalam Review | Content with Cars 

Ayyo you are spot on. I just got my Jimny last week and its been a blast. The confidence it give you is something which needs to be experienced. I keep going out on drives for no reason at all.

Maruti has done a great job with the Jimny.Its 'practical' hardcore offroader..Some people are bashing it for its small looks.Its based on a kei car..But most offroading people will understand the boon of being compact and the capability of Jimny..It may not sell like hotcakes.But its what an offroader should be..I hope Maruti will not adulterate that by launching 2wd variant just like some other brands do just for gaining sales..

ഗുണങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം കുറവുകളൾ മറച്ചുവെക്കാത്ത സത്യസന്ധമായ അനുഭവ വിവരണം എനിക്കിഷ്ടമായി . പൊതുവെ jimny വാങ്ങിയവരാരും കുറവുകൾ പറയാറില്ല അവർ ഥാറുമായി താരതമ്യം ചെയ്ത് കൂടുതൽ ഡോറുകളുള്ളതിൻ്റെ നേട്ടം മാത്രം മികവായി പറയും .സത്യത്തിൽ Thar ഉം Jimny യും ഒരേ തൊഴുത്തിൽ കെട്ടാൻ പറ്റുന്ന ഐറ്റമേ അല്ല. jimny or Tharഏത് വേണമെന്നത് ഒരോരുത്തരുടെ ഇഷ്ടം

Jimny is what an offroader should be. Compact and capable. It was my dream car till I got my pajero io 2L petrol 5door automatic.

Hopefully they will add driver seat height adjustment, rear seat load sensor, front hand rest etc. in the next generation.

ജമ്മു, ഹിമാചൽ, ഭൂട്ടാൻ, സിക്കിം പോലെയുള്ള മലയോര മേഖലയിൽ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു ഫാമിലി കാർ ആയി മികച്ച ഒരു മോഡൽ ആണ് ജിമിനി. അപ്പോഴും അതിൻ്റെ സ്റ്റിയറിങ്, സീറ്റ് ബെൽറ്റ് പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ ഒന്ന് പരിഹരിക്കണം. കൂടാതെ ഫ്യുവൽ efficiency ക്കു വേണ്ടി എന്തെങ്കിലും പരിഹാരം കൂടി ചെയ്താൽ നല്ല ഹിറ്റ് ആകും.

First time here, and your genuine review of your Jimny was equally appealing to my heart as it was to my brain. Thank you for this honest review. Liked the comparison of buying the Jimny to getting into a relationship. Accepting imperfections is the foundation for a strong relationship. Lemme see if I am gonna bring a Jimny into my life. The problem is, i have a swift diesel amt which was my dream car four years ago, and is still going strong. But the Jimny is appealing to my heart, which generally overrules my brain. Finally, it comes down to Heart Vs Brain (New Jimny Vs existing Swift VDI amt).

The best part of jimny is that it can take you places where regular janata cannot reach. I have explored so many uncrowded gems of locations which don’t even show up on google maps, since I bought one.

Hi Vivek, I have had a few instances where the rear brake on the left has activated and actually locked the wheel while negotiating corners . Although not driving fast or dangerously at all when it occurred, it is highly disturbing and I nearly lost control the vehicle on all occasions. Is this the ESC intervening or traction control or are they the same thing?

Hi Vivek, the whole review on the Jimney has been impeccably delivered in your own irreplaceable style of presentation - l again appreciate the frank opinion that you have voiced there, especially regarding the vehicle being always a second or third car mostly meant for weekends and for its off road abilities, the lack of power when overtaking, the rear seat comfort or lack of it and so on. The technical details that you just waded through are points that most others have not bothered to mention, more so because you are a professional auto journalist. The long shots of the videography was so good and eye catching with the car going over the horizon on steep tracks, which makes a prospective buyer to once again consider the vehicle though it has been prized way above our expectations. The high price would cause many a prospective buyer to shy away from this not so practical car. Thus it is not for just about anyone - but for the discerning few who can make good use of it on rough terrain while off roading.

if turning is hard and the turning radius is great like you said, then why would Maruti decide to keep a steering box. Is it something to do with its offroad aspect ?. Can you give an explanation like you did the science episode with JD in Talking Cars(just a request).

The best thing about the Jimny is the ride, it's a tough little car that can flatten anything the roads here can throw at it. It's really nice!! But there are some severe shortcomings. I wish it had a 6AT, that 4 speed just doesn't cut it in 2023. The engine is always screaming and never settled. And it is totally lackluster and somewhat dangerous on the undivided roads of Kerala. Also, Maruti should have prioritised the cabin space over the boot at the rear. That rear seat right now can only be used by kids, actually the 3 door gets better rear seats. Throw in the overambitious pricing to the mix, and it's not easy to make a case for Jimny even with discounts which is like 1 lakh plus. And that is only going to go up after Christmas. Let's wait and watch how it unravels.
