I can’t imagine what it’s like for Vic playing in this summer league right now. The crowd literally buzzes every time he has the ball. That type of pressure is hard to put into words. Takes a lot to calm yourself down and play. He has the mental toughness to go with it all. Generational

I will repeat, having watched him here in France, I believe Wemby is going to be special...despite the hype. He has natural gifts, incredible talent, his head is on straight - years ahead of his age, he's got solid influencers around him (no worries of him getting into trouble ala Ja or Zion), he's been planning for this transition, he's ready to learn, AND he's determined to win NBA titles BUT knows he needs to be patient and the transition will take time. He doesn't feel any of the pressure the media is putting on him, and he will not be phased by it. As long as he stays healthy - we will get 15+ years of his transforming the game.

Funny how a rookie player can go from a Shawn Bradly bust to a once in generation talent in two summer league games… Please let the young man develop into what he will be.

Once he gets more comfortable in the nba, he’s gonna be a beast. I’m still scared about him getting injury. One bad landing and it’s over. I hope he’ll stay healthy. My man’s averaging 4 blocks per game already. His offence might take some time but his defence is there from the moment he’s stepped on the court.

If he stays free from injury, in a few years time we will be talking about him as record breaking and history making.

He's very clearly the type of player that needs to be comfortable to thrive. The main difference from last game to this one was he looked more confident and comfortable. I think that will cause the transition to the real deal NBA to be a bit rockier than many (myself included as a Spurs fan since 03') hope but I think he will learn and work through it with Pop coaching him as well as the mentorship of Tim Duncan and the others Spurs legends. I think Duncan will unlock a certain level of consistency where he will be able to play his game regardless of if it's going well or not. The guys guarding him in the NBA will be doing everything in their power to make him uncomfortable (like how Draymond and PG said in the Podcast) and I think early on it will work but as Wemby gets more comfortable and Duncan instills that calm fearless unphased mental maturity in him he will overcome it and dominate. I think early on he's going to still be amazing especially defensively but the offense might take some time. I'm very happy as a Spurs fan and wish this kid all the best in the league!
