i keep it in till finger tight then remove the wedge, you dont want to clamp down on the wedge, if in doubt, insert and remove as you go to ensure it stays level
@@pyrate_nz i have the cantilever mount 4622C and it says ”apply a light coat of oil to the rail, then loosen the M5 Tx20 clamping screws before seating the mount on the rail while pushing it forward.” Now, I havent seent any mountinf video on youtube applying a light coat of oil on the rails. Might it be a new thing?
@@pyrate_nz update, I askes Spuhr and they said this: Thank you for your email. Yes, this is something we started recommending a few years back, and it's something we recommend doing regardless of which manufacture of mount you are using. This will ensure that a minimum of torque is wasted on fighting the friction between the flat surfaces of the mount and the rail, and instead impart the maximum amount of torque on the clamping force. CLP works just fine for this.
how do you tell if the scope is vertically in line with the rifle when you mount it? you would have to make sure the rifle is level and the scope is centered, not really sure how you would do that effectively
