Ump- Max , Max that’s a warning for the bat flip Max- I don’t give a shit They just need to let the kids play and quit trying to stop them from celebrating
Where in the book does it say you can’t bat flip? I’m a boomer, former catcher, and I’ve never seen an ump warn anyone for theatrics. We just generally didn’t do it because we were brought up in the game differently and it was a distraction. The game just has a way of humbling most of us
He is in high school. He isn’t can’t miss. No baseball player is because of the minor league system. Him saying “I don’t give a shit” to a grown man tells me he doesn’t respect others. Eventually he will be humbled and the respect you show to others in the game is a tell tale sign of him being unable to handle adversity when it most certainly comes. There is no way anyone can defend a 17 year old boy saying “I don’t give a shit” to an umpire.
Not saying it was the right thing to say but he just hit a bomb and the ump got mad at him for pumping up his team and bat flipping, so I mean I understand why he was annoyed but he shouldn’t have said that
He is constantly playing against the best talent in the nation, I think he knows what adversity looks like. The ump is clearly trying to big-man Clark and Clark didn't let that happen. Great job Max Clark.
