My neighbors, the Beltcher's would take us kids to Miami Marine Stadium to see our Buddy Rick Shaw go fast across the water. Good folks back in the day. Viva Cristo Rey
A friend of mine has an Allison XB2002 with a 245 Mercury, with 2 people, over 230 each, and all the fishing gear, it'll do 104 in water as smooth as you see here in this video. Great bass boat and will haul ass when he wants.
Good friend has a 1969 Kingman flat bottom and he has a 350 Chevy that came out of his 70 z28 and I tell you that boat flew and he still has it those where the days your boat super hot thanks for showing
No doubt, I'm not worried about it lol. Ken has been drag racing forever so he wants to squeeze every bit out of it he can. I'm excited to see what he changes on it before next season.
You were doing 60 on that ski and that flatbottom wasn't breaking a sweat with the plate down just Cruising..no jet boat can compare to a v drive prop boat. A thrill of a ride in a flatbottom. My father called it clinching some seat cover when he would drop the plate and smash that pedal
Yeah glad you got a chuckle from that. My father has a 1968 howard its also yellow with a wood deck. He named it buttercup. He used to tow it with a black c10 shortbed( aka blackjack) back in the day when he drag raced it. I showed him the video he said Sanger are fast boats and a lot lighter than old buttercup. Best of luck out there 👍
Have a Placecraft jet w/760 hp (SAE corrected), dyno verified. 675 hp actual during speed runs...100 mph verified by GPS and speedometer. Blowing away a 60 mph jetski doesn't cut it....every flat or jet can do 100 mph (according to owners) with just a tac and the seat of your pants. Lol.
I have a 22' 78 Cheetah jet, Roots blown BB Chevy, about 80 is where fun stops and you fear our Lord and savior! Very nice boat you have! Dad had a Hondo, brings back memories!
I love the Cheetah jets! I bet that thing gets down with a big block and a blower...what's your top speed? This is not my boat but i'll let my friend know, we both appreciate your comment!
Very cool boat and looks like a nice setup. I have a 22 ft Donzi with a 502 bored.030 good AFR heads and and 8-71 roots style blower it making around 700 hp, I do have methanol injection when the time comes to push it harder but my boat will run low 92 mph gps with the prop I am running and its and out drive I believe a sportsmaster its setup so the top of the prop is 1" underwater at cruise. My exhaust is similar to this one just water injected headers I love the boat great engine and runs strong but my boat design is old and the boat with fuel is 5000 pounds. I dont like this part but just about any good boat with a big outboard is going to be faster than I am and they are going to burn half the fuel. It makes me think sometimes??
92 MPH is plenty fast enough! That is a big boat and a lot of weight to push, i'd love to have something like that! I bet it handles the chop pretty well. Not too many outboards are running in the 90's around us :)
@@thehillbillyhierarchy Thanks for the comment and opinion and I do agree presently I am running a 32" pitch prop and believe I could run up to a 33.5 with pulley change on blower and get the methanol injection going I would have enough HP to pull it but like you said and again I agree I think 92 is plenty fast enough and if some tunnel comes by me running a pair of 450R engines thats just the way it is!
Anybody remember a Jet Boat Named Pure Hell In California??? At one time it was the second fastest in the state clocked at 96 in the quarter mile Tahiti Hull That Was A Badass Jet
Center Lake in Michigan Center, Michigan. There is a group called Michigan Hot Boats where a lot of these guys get together and run them. I plan on making a few videos for them next season.
He does have that prop so its time for a gearing change. As far as he knows, its still on the original 1:1 ratio. we were running at 7k rpm at that speed so it needs the gearing change at this point. He is building a new motor for it over the winter so he's going to have some more RPM to work with. Good to know there is plenty of room to grow...122MPH would be insane! Thanks for the comment.
I had a 62 spico with the same casale tranny. They came with hemi or 427 ford. The driver would have to side wind the ski rope, before take off. With the prop i had on it. It would not out run a bass boat.
Educate me! What do you mean by side wind the ski rope? Prop definitely makes a HUGE difference in drivability and if you're towing skiers, who cares about top mph :)
@@thehillbillyhierarchy I could have explained it better. After i wrapped the rope around the skier. I would drive in a s pattern. To give the skier time to get ready for take off.
It is a nice boat! I don't see why it cant hit 100mph in the right conditions just based on the prop that's on it. Maybe next year i can do another video and get a GPS on it :)
@@thehillbillyhierarchy Yes please do so.. Because Clearly you never have put a GPS on it before and you going off what you feel is over 100mph but in reality like I said doing a solid 70 lol Once you use a GPS you'll actually educate yourself lol
@@donziperk umm I never said anything about being capable.. anything in life is possible but that set up he has. Definitely not even close to 80mph . Mofos throw that 100mph talk around and it mind blogging lol 😆
100 mph my ass! That old sled doesnt even have a down peddle on the cav plate, V-drive is set back way to far for that kind of speed, has a rear seat, the cav plates are old and out of date. That boat safely will run maybe 60 mph... Maybe.
I don't want to tell you you're wrong but we were able to get a run in on this boat with a GPS on it. Feel free to go to my channel and check it out :)
The Sanger has about 30 mph on it and is definitely faster if the conditions are nice! That one jet ski has 300hp though so there wouldn't be much shame in losing a race to that.
