Something about killing entities that would usually be in horror games is oddly empowering and satisfying

Imagine you're in the world of DOOM. somehow you've managed to survive. You're running from hordes of demons daily, eating nothing but stale crackers and whatever you can find. Then, suddenly, gunfire. A man steps out of the blood and gore, talking to seemingly no one while murdering all the demons in the vicinity. You don't catch anything he says except for one phrase... "Hello everybody, my name is Markiplier."

Seeing the opening gave me chills down my spine. Doomguy was originally a scared marine trying to survive and make it out of Hell/Mars’ moons itself, but he’s now a badass demon killer who isn’t the Survivor, the demons are.

The earth: *already turned into a nightmarish planet* Mark: HOW IS THAT STANDING

I like that Mark shows his appreciation for all of the environments in the game because if you watch some of the devs reactions to speed runs and such you can tell how proud of those environments they are.

Other tutorials: okay this is how you do things! Doom tutorial: you see how that thing moves? *lets change that*

I like how normally all the demons fight each other, but as soon as they see the doom slayer they completely turn their focus to him. It’s like the game mode switched from Free For All to Juggernaut

There's a book on the Doomslayer's shelf on the ship that says is titled "How To Comb Your Mustache" by Cliffton M. Fischbach and I cant help but feel its a reference to you or your family.

I love the continuation from 2016: The Slayer still has the Double Jump Boots He starts with a Shotgun instead of a Pistol like the other games He made a new Praetor Suit, thus why he doesn’t have the original upgrades

Very late in the game, but I'm almost done with the Ancient Gods Part 2, 100%-ing all th egame and DLC. This game is absolutely incredible. Plus, I'm playing it on the Switch and it's a real miracle this game runs on it as stably as it does. Loving every ounce of it.

I got goosebumps multiple times during that intro

I noticed two things here. First, the absolute fucking glee Mark exudes when playing this is so contagious! Second, Mick Gordon's music is absolutely spot-on with the action. You never really pay attention to it when you're playing, but it's amazing how many stems were used when writing this!

Headcanon: Doomslayer wrote all the tracks in this game and he has a music player built into his helm so he can jam out as he rips and tears. Evidence: there are several guitars in his room in the Fortess of Doom, and on his computer there are sound files titled things like "Rip and Tear"

My mom was a huge DOOM fan when the first one came out. She used to order take out and sit me down next to her every friday whilst playing it. I showed her what DOOM looks like now and asked her if she wanted to play it and she said "hell no". The pixels are gone and now it is too much for her 😂😂 My mom was the horror game queen when I was a kid.

fun fact: my entire first playthrough of DOOM eternal was with the brown DOOM marine skin because of DOOM 2 and it looks so fricken' cool also it actually matches the colour scheme of doom eternal

I'm gonna just say this thank you markiplier for getting me back into playing doom bro. Thanks to you I purchased the 2016 doom game and thanks to you my love for this game was revived. Love the game play to this btw
