i have been at probably every host out there. they are ok... depends on what you are doing there. wordpress? they are not a good option.

@@PandaMoolin I don’t like Wordpress. I used it for an educational blog 10 years ago when it was free, and it was beyond clunky. I’ve used Squarespace with only minimal better results. I’ve done free weebly and google sites. I also paid my oldest son, a web developer, to make one for me, but I can’t afford . . . I think it’s called dynamic hosting? Right now, I have to stick to static hosting, for cost purposes. He and his wife have a newborn and web design is his side hustle, while having two other jobs (and the wife and the newborn). So this looks promising for an immediate alternative, until I’ve got more money (probably January) to pay for a better set up he can work with. . . One tip I can give is don’t use Oracle for cloud hosting. Their code broke, I couldn’t get any incoming emails, and the tech support tickets I kept doing on it would get deleted after a week. The last one I did, one of the tech support wrote “talked with web developer; everything is fine.” I immediately flagged it because: (1) my original ticket had been filed 4 hours prior, and (2) it was the middle of the night in Thailand (where my son was living at the time). I pointed that out when I flagged it, that tech support couldn’t have possibly talked to the web developer because I had made the ticket at 1am Thai time and it had just turned 5am, and since the web developer was my son, I knew he wasn’t up yet. **They deleted the whole support ticket history.** My son removed my entire website from their cloud, I removed my card info, and cancelled my cloud hosting plan. Oracle has gotten too big for their britches. Avoid them at all costs. (I won’t use AWS because I live in Seattle and Amazon has ruined the place, bringing in workers from other parts of the country that don’t have our weather, roads, or introvert culture, and then laying them off-fueling the homeless crisis. I’m not paying for more of that with my hard earned dollars.). . . So this still looks like a real game changer that I can do myself, while it’s on a deal, get some consultant clients, and then maybe switch to something else once my son gets his family moved into their larger apartment. They’ve got their now-4 month old in a studio apartment. Appreciate the advice!

I was at number 100 when I liked this video. I have no words to thank you for such simple and honest descriptions. I am from India and have spent 3 years in creating some online courses but whatever I watched leaves to a brief description leaving to dead end. Despite financial issues spent on learning from here and here. I was not very tech savvy and still not much but I saw one of your video last week. It contained all what I learned in bits from one area or other but still with no clarity. Then I saw another of yours and found that you are giving what I was searching and many like me are still looking for. I don't have a website yet, but i think that as a content creator, the best reason for me to have a website is to control and centralize my content. A website serves as a platform where I can showcase my work, build my personal brand, and engage directly with my audience without relying on third-party platforms.
