Ssi, is a bad joke designed keep people in poverty. Ssi, is not government assistance, its government insistence insisting that you stay poor. Assistance, is something which helps the betterment of oneself, which SSI most certainly does not do. In reality one cannot live on this measly amount of money nor can one make enough extra to matter because big government incorporated will take away their poverty insistence. Ssi, is a slap in face to all disabled individuals. Its a disgrace to this country and an undisputed testament to the deluded dollar addicted politicians clogged up in the powers of government.

I hate to break it to you, but I've been on SSI for a long time and I can say this a lot of these rules are unconstitutional based on the poverty line, the minimum wage, the cost of living, as well as the fact that these rules ties Social Security to Medicare insurance which makes it out to be like a legal bribe to keep the disabled person under $2,000, it's not that they have to make either $5,000 or $10,000 just to pay their medical debt without insurance. This is the exact reason why we need Universal Basic Income and Social Security reform, because this is a violation of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment so long as the cap is not at $12,000 a year per account.
SSI is a welfare/needs based program. You don't get if you aren't poor. Nothing Unconstitutional about this. You seem to be throwing Medicare and SS into this and you lost me there.

I'm not throwing Medicare into anything, it's just Medicare is used by Social Security under its asset limitation rules to limit the amount of assets, and the assets limitations rule is based on the minimum wage, and it has to be because that's what prevented from violating the 14th Amendment. But today's assets limitations rule is based on a $4 minimum wage not a $7.25 minimum wage, is what makes it unconstitutional because people with disabilities aren't even allowed to make enough money as far as assets go to even live because SSI, therefore SSI is obstructing their ability to function as an independent citizen while still requiring SSI specific needs. See this is why I would not have entered this argument if I were you because a lot of people don't understand what SSI is in that it's supposed to be a social safety net for the disabled, in fact many people only say that it's for retirement only which is complete bullshit. Social Security is supposed to be there and help you when you're disabled that it. As far as expanding it beyond that that's something that would have to be talked about if automation happened.

According to a letter about SSI that I received on Oct 2021, there is a requirement that an applicant be "at least age 65... OR,... be blind or disabled", which seems to expand the disability requirement stated here.
I had this problem when my lawyer and I won my case and then I go to some man named Lee and I think he tricked me he told me if I signed this paper I will get disability and SSI but the next following we went back he said all I can get is SSI can he take away my winning in court
My understanding is that anyone who applies for SSI Disability or SSI Old Age will have their work history automatically reviewed for any SS/SS Disability benefits. The medical review is the same. You are supposed to get any SS benefits first.

Yes, but being 65 or older is only one of the qualifications you've already met. In addition, you have to be blind or disabled (a physical disability or impairment which prevents you from working, or a mental disorder which also prevents you from working). I am very very very strongly for my taxpayer money to be spent relocating the US National capital to the Southeast corner of Montana and nationalizing all of the Telephone companies and all of the railroads than on the hate crime against the so-called disabled Supplemental Security income program and Social Security Disability.

If you want any US federal government spending to be cut or reduced, what US government spending should be reduced as I am a taxpayer like all of us. I think many US Presidents and 80% of all US Congressmen are ignorant. I am very strongly against any local or state government ordering or asking anyone to apply for the Supplemental-Security Disability Program as there are no disabled people and people are poor just because of the economic market. I would rather have poor people be ordered to enlist in the US Armed Forces or have the WPA reestablished.
