Hi, we are Harriet and Mauro and in February 2021 we bought an abandoned smallholding in Castellón, Spain. In these videos we share our life as we restore and improve our little stone house, learn to grow and preserve our own food, and bring our 4 acres of farmland back to productivity. Look at this woman, she left everything that many would say "held them back" from doing it. YOu dont need to own land to live like this, WWOOF, volunteer, kibutz, so many options. In my life I have waited to do things only to wish i had done them sooner. If you truly want to live this way, just do it and figure it out later!

@@grubert3535 In the English language a title or name can also be shown in quotation marks. Sometimes it's used for showing that a brand or place name isn't the real thing. RU-vid is also a concept....it's not a tube, it's not you (or me), it's a brand, an imaginary concept...which someone, at some stage, invented as a name to represent a video sharing website. Harriet, brutal....

I can relate to her energy. When you focus and have a plan ahead, things get to be done much easier. And when you look back to how things were before, that is where the satisfaction comes along with more encouraging ideas to continue and do things better. Loved your video. Makes my day🥰💚

Best wishes from a 71 year old doing something similar in central Portugal..only with the help of my brilliant wife. You have the right ideas, especially about the rustic look, I like that, we only have 1 acre, so 4 sounds a lot of work. Thanks...

This is such an astounding achievement! It would be impressive enough if you did this with already possessing the skills needed, the fact that you learnt the skills as you went along just makes it even more astonishing. This video is an inspiration and you are particularly a great inspiration to other girls/ young women. Wishing you continued success in your endeavours.

Purely inspirational. You are shining a light on how life aught to be lived. I am almost 76 now and have just bought some land with a mixture of fruits although they need a lot of TLC. First visit to your channel...and I'm in AWE of your hard work...your goals and lifestyle choices. It was a dream of mine once, to live this way...but life chose a different path for me...but the dream never left my mind, even though I knew I could never realize it. So...I have ultimate admiration for anyone who invests this kind of work into making it happen. There are no words to express the amazing beauty and function you have brought to your land and your life. Your perspective on how to live warms my heart beyond words. Continued success and rewards for your grueling work. You're doin it right. =)

@@marymorris8442 Ya...great thought...but I no longer have the energy to invest in this...and it DOES take energy. I make up for it in other ways...conscientious menu planning to make the best of every nickel I spend and making it stretch until it almost breaks. We can all do better in terms of not being wasteful. Is it "living the dream"? Not so much. But survival has many levels. And simply not being wasteful goes a long ways. =)

this is my absolute dream! my whole family is very sweet but they are the classic workaholic people who spend most of their time on their job and its heartbreaking to me to see how constantly stressed and fatigued they are. the only solace i see them get sometimes is when we spend time together in the garden we have outside of the city. recently ive been rethinking a lot and i have sort of decided for myself that im truly not made to follow into their footsteps and work a busy job inside all day, smack dab in the big city surrounded by people and problems 24/7. videos like this make me feel so warm and cozy inside :) i just know id love the challenge and the reward of having such a beautiful space to me and my partner. this video was amazing! you guys have achieved so much and i have so much respect for you, starting this journey on your own!

Bravo Harriet! I am so impressed! You are very resourceful. Moving into a shack on your own, without running water or any furniture, with thousands of items on your “to do” list, is a very brave thing to do. And look what you have achieved in such a short time! It’s wonderful! Many of us dream of doing such a thing but so few of us ever do it. I hope you both have a long and happy life there. Well done girl! 😊❤️🦘

My first visit and have to say, you have done an amazing job, and it is beautiful that you have taken the option to know your land and all it provides for you. Don't be surprised if nature reaches out to you. It does communicate, answers prayers for rain. Protects your land and critters if harmful weather is coming. Don't think of prayers as religious. Talk to nature as a friend when asking it to protect...and provide. I suspect it has grown attached as it knows what you have accomplished. Spread your arms in love. It will in turn fill you with love. Can't beat it. Namaste.😏💕
