Felix, I just love how commited you are to your tennis journey and how transparent and honest you are in the cost it takes to compete at the level that you're competing at. Not only are your videos fun to watch but they will help and inspire a whole generation of young hopefull tennis players into what it takes to make it as a fulltime tennis professional. Cant wait to watch your progress in 2023 Felix👍

Yes let’s be honest. Players spent lot of money on tour but because they also go high in expenses. Depending on your budget, but If you choose to train in the top tennis academies (that are business, so it means they take your money very easy and that’s all but u don’t get anything), best centers, top hotels and the list can go on. Of course you’ll spend more money at the beginning

It gets to the point where the coach isn't going to be teaching you as much as training you. You'll get the occasional correction but you're basically doing physical training and then you hit and hit and hit and hit some more. As good as a coach is and or was he can't work 8 hours a day and then train as much as you to spar and practice with you 1 on 1 so you'll be hitting with sparring partners and other players who are in the same boat as you. I'm guessing there's 2 to 4 other players like him in a lot of his training sessions so multiply the money by 3 or 4 or whatever amount of people are training with him at the time. When you're just starting out you can't really afford a coach's monthly salary to have him all to yourself every day. Obviously it depends on a lot of things, sometimes the coach will just take you out and work on something specific while the rest are in the gym or something. Where do you live by the way? @Icacer

Would be interested to see how much the number would change if you didn't have sponsors for Equipment since tennis racquets /string can really add up. Would also like to know how much the two weeks MA would've cost, but I'm going to guess that you wouldn't have gone if you didn't have the sponsorship. Excited to see how 2023 goes!

I really enjoy the content Felix produces and it is great to see what it takes to get just 1 ATP point. But it blows my mind what a difference it makes where you are coming from. Now imagine this journey of the perspective a Eastern European, African or Asian kid, tremendous difference. I mean only without the sponsors, this price will go up at least 25%. And it is not just the price, the quality of products available is ginormous. Also, there are so many tournaments in the UK, so he travels far less than most of young players. Let alone the quality of hitting partners. Having a hit with players like Popyrin and Draper can be so helpful for young players. Players from smaller countries with the same qualities as Felix will stand no chance of becoming a pro. Of course none of that is Felix’ problem, but I am just left wondering why the UK haven’t produced more top 20 players last 20 years. I hope Felix breaks that tendency and gets much more than 1 point in 2023!!!

Honestly you could have saved alot of money on accommodation by not staying at official hotels , in and around the area there are always cheaper options, it's a bit of struggle to find definitely, but it's possible, from 125 dollars a night , u could easily come down to 40$ a night and if u share your room , even cheaper. And also you could save on flights in Europe by planning in advance, which is definitely possible by looking at the entry list where u gonna get in! Mostly the qualies draws are of 48 or 64 , and many tournaments happen simultaneously so u can't go very wrong as to where you are getting in! Also alot of money could be saved on food , if you just carry your own electric induction and buy food from super market and make your own food. It will take a bit of time , but if you want to reduce the cost, then its a good option.

Hey Felix, you are trying to achieve something impossible just like my 13 years old son who has been schooling and training in Europe for the past 6 months. Didn't realize how difficult and impossible this gig is.The question I have for you is what was the total restringing your racquet cost for the 12 months or do you re-string your own and how often do you break your strings. My son has been sponsored by HEAD since he was 11 years old, who like you gets free racquets and strings. He has always hit the ball hard as 16 to 17 year olds boys. When he was training in Australia he would break his strings every 1 to 2 weeks and now in Europe he is breaking his strings every 1 to 2 days as he has started to hit the ball even harder and more cleaner. Its now costing me 12 Euro to restring each time plus 8 Euro for packet of 3 grips which lasts 1 week, Is this normal. He is inspired by you and has asked me if he can have youtube channel like you to document his tennis Journey but I am not so keen and have said no. I just want him to focus on getting better and improving himself instead.

This is exactly why the college tennis route in the USA makes a lot of sense. The costs you would incur on almost all of these categories would be zero, and the NIL program allows you to continue to make money from your likeness. That means you could keep the RU-vid channel monetized. NCAA tennis programs are fantastic and have put out many top 100 players over the years.
