Thanks for another great video! I’ve had mine for over a year during which it went back for service after it went full auto after eight months. I still like it for these three reasons: best recoil impulse for heavy range use, good trigger and the striker extension makes re-holstering safer. I have upgraded the sights and recoil spring then put a bicycle tire inner tube wrap on the grip to build it up. The Walther PPS M2 got a favorable review from Massad Ayoob for it’s accuracy but it’s not for everybody.
I had the same experience with the stock texture on the grip. I fixed it up using a bicycle tire inner tube. Helps soak up some recoil/vibration, adds texture and grip, and since I have large hands, helps fill out my hand more. Plus it’s very affordable.
I have had mine as an EDC for 3 years and absolutely love it. I purchased the Grip texture immedetly and also learned that it hates TulAmmo Steel Case. Everthing else it runs like a champ.
I've had my PPS .40 cal (pedal mag release) since 2017. I love it so much that I've named it after my ex wife!! Carry it every where I go. Yes I have the Springfield XDS .45 (3.3) as well. I had a gunsmith put a new trigger on it and tuned the gun afterwards. Also picked up Springfield optics for it as well. Best money spent is a long time..
@spnfirearms Everyone says the same thing. I continue to appreciate your videos. Your hard work is paying off, and I'm enjoying the content. Happy holidays!
SPN just picked up one today with a 6 and a7 round mag with original box and paper work out the door for 290 from my local pawn shop I buy from like it so far went straight to range I put 25 rounds of hornady critical defense and 100 rounds of fmj shoots better than my lc9 and they both shoot better than my ec9s. Great review sir much respect.
I must bea single stack guy lol I own a spectrum a Taurus g2s a ruger lc9 and ec9 s and now the Walther pps m2 I do a have a few double stacks but love my single stack pistols
I've had this gun since 2016 and It's still one of my favorite carrys. I own many other carry guns and I think come back to this one time and time again.
I used ranger bands as grip tape, added the mag-guts years ago to all my mags, and got my slide optics cut. Just recently picked up a shield plus to hold me over until i do that recall service i never heard about before. We'll see if the shield dethrones the ppsm2's 6 years with me
💯 - Agree on my M1 fitting my hand better. And, it's a shame that Walther is refusing to come out with a "double stack" PPS. That's why I'll be carrying a Shield Plus before too long
Bought my M2 brand new in '20, and have carried it almost every day since. Put more than a few "aggressively designed" hollow points through it, not to mention a bunch of "ball rounds," and it's been absolutely reliable and "hides" very well. While I am no longer a fan of the "Walther company" and won't be giving them any more of my money, it doesn't change the fact that this is a great firearm.
@@Bamboosh00ts I was excited about the new "F" (small frame) line of pistols they introduced bout a year ago. But when I made contact with the company, I was met with some serious WOKE responses - Seems they were intending their guns to be "women only" at the time, and were very hateful toward me because I'm a male... I was shocked lol! I knew then that the company I'd loved since the 80s (my dad was a gun dealer and taught me to shoot on Walthers and HKs...) was broken. So, my next carry purchase will be a Shield Plus (what the PPS should've been developed into...). Even before that, Walther was known for NOT listening to their customers, but I was able to ignore that. Them going WOKE and being seriously hateful toward paying customers, I cannot and will not ignore (Sorry bout the long post... Guess I'm still ticked)
@@jmmartin7766 Man, that sucks to hear and I’m actually wondering if it wasn’t just some woke CS rep and indicative of the company as a whole. I will say the one time I have needed to interact with Walther CS for the PPS M2 recall, I had no issues and the recall was performed in a timely manner.
@@Bamboosh00ts Your mileage may vary, and I'm glad you didn't experience what I did. (Maybe they FINALLY listened when I told them they were "alienating their largest customer base- men.") But between their traditional "not listening to their customers," and this "new, unpleasant development," I'd rather spend money on a better, American company. I've actually had conversations with people from S&W a few times, and realize they're just a better fit for me. For now, I'm still carrying my PPS, but the Shield Plus is my next purchase
Ah the Walther PPS what a great tool. Love, love Walther. Yet I never carry anything without a Thumb Safety, because, as you mention, most shooting accidents occur during holstering. My go to choice today, for economy and reliability, is Ruger. ECS9 is an excellent solution. There are more expensive makes with the same layout, Hoeckler for example. The other thing about this is the myth which led many makers into the TG safety folly, - that one cannot draw and off the safety as quickly as without. Yeah right', yawn! I can any time and will out draw and shoot as fast, and faster than the 'foot remover' suicide HGs. Simple routine, thumb off as you acquire target.
Even with proper lubrication, holster w/sweat guard, and a T-shirt, mine was a 'rust magnet' (welcome to Alabama!) due to the carbon steel springs and pins used. Other than that irritating fact, I liked it.
I held a G48 the other day at the gun store and to be honest, it really made me think about switching over. I’m a Glock guy, better aftermarket support, higher capacity, all make it very compelling, as much as I love the PPS M2.
Do you change out your sights and triggers yourself or do you get a gunsmith to do it? Also, can you pocket carry it with the 7-rd magazine in it or can you only do it with flush mags only?
Yeah. I looked at this and the P-10M today. They both have great triggers, but the Walther felt better in my hands. Do you have opinions on how they are to shoot?
@@mlevy76 I’ve only shot the CZ. Imo, it shoots real good! I haven’t had any issues at all. I picked one up at a local gun show for $229 a couple of months ago. For the price, I figured I could always use an inexpensive pistol to take fishing. That being said, I agree that the Walther felt better in my hand. I’d definitely pick one up if I could find one under $350, but the only ones I see are still full price. Take care and have a good one!👍🏻
@@mlevy76 Anytime. I always enjoy good conversation. The main issue I have with the CZ is there aren’t any night sights available for it, (at least to my knowledge there aren’t.) Imo, it’s definitely not a huge issue though. That being said, I’m positive there are more accessories that readily available for the Walther, but for the price, the CZ is definitely a keeper. Btw, if you haven’t already, check out the Masada Slim. It’s about the same size as the Glock 43x, but the trigger is phenomenal! Also, there are a plethora of magazines readily available for different situations. In all honesty, it will be the next firearm purchase I make.😎
@@ChrisfromGeorgia I'm with you on this. My LGS has the P-10M for $300 and the regular/non-LE version of the PPS M2 for $350. They don't carry the Slim, but I've seen it at $450. I went yesterday and back again today with my CZ PCR in tow. The M2 felt like I didn't get a good grip on it, despite me liking it the better of those two. The P-10M felt better, but the guy pulled out a Shield Plus which fit me BEAUTIFULLY. It's $400 (or $450 with night sights and optics cut). I think what I'm going to do for the moment is try to make my CZ PCR work, if possible, in an IWB manner. I will have to take it off when I teach (just can't conceal it well enough for that), so if I can find a Ulticlip setup that works for it, it might mean I don't need something else. If I decide to go another route, it'll be $300 for the P-10M or $450 for the Shield Plus or Slim. I trust IWI completely (my first gun was a Jericho 941F9), but if I can't get ahold of one, that's a little too much money to spend on a gamble, when I know the Shield Plus fits me sooooo well and is such a solid performer. What do you think about that?
My ccw sinced 2016 until now, trying to buy my new ccw i liked hell cat, gx4 and canik carry but i will wait for the last time one more year this year end of 2024 or 2025 for the new walther pps m3 double stack threaded barrel optic cut ready police pistol slim they gonna kill the competition im Heard for that but not sure when gonna release im still waiting walther please i dont want to buy any gun ccw option that i liked please release that kracken thia year or early 2025.
Highly skilled who shot themselves is a questionable statement, I’m not that highly skilled and I have carried inside the waistband one in the pipe for over 10 years, never had a negligent discharge.
I’m getting the walther ccp for my gf and I kind of like this firearm too. Do they have interchangeable magazine options? They look very similar and maybe someone knows and can just tell ne
Hey, SPNFirearms have you had any issues with barrel peening on your pps in the past year? I heard about some pps having barrel peening in the past. I was wondering if they possibly fixed it.

My first pps m2 peened really bad. So far my 2nd one isn't
hm good question. The shield .40 performance center has more recoil because it’s in .40 but the pps handles recoil very well for being a 9mm as well. The pps has much less recoil. Respect
It must just be me... I found the ergonomics to be terrible. Even the trigger shoe irritated my finger. I shot it OK (.40 S&W), but I found it uncomfortable and the capacity being so low... yeah, I wouldn't buy one. It'd be easy to conceal, but I wouldn't want to have to fight with it.
