Awe thank you so much yessss most definitely keep the journey you can throw on a wig or apply braids over them to switch it up but once a year or so go by you will see a difference. It most definitely requires patience

@@princesstrobinson Hey gorgeous!! I'm still hanging in there. Combed out the coils and restarted with two strands twists in late May. Experienced some wicked scalp issues but I attribute it to oiling my scalp too often. Did you ever experience thinning at the roots? I think that was due to retwisting too often.. Trying to keep my hair looking neat between retwists is my biggest challenge. Congrats to you and your sweetheart, and your locs are definitely flourishing!

Yes I experienced thinning the root of my front edges around 10 months so I combined a couple of the front and that made me realize I had to stop retwisting within 3 weeks. I was putting to much tension on roots so I wait almost 6 weeks now. I am glad you haven’t given up. It takes work and patience but it’s worth it

@@princesstrobinson I'm 7 months loced and I'm loving it. I can't believe I'm actually 7 months. My locs are starting to mature. I can even shake them now 😂 which annoys my brother sometimes but I'm truly enjoying this journey. The good dqys outweigh the bad days so I'm loving it. Thank you for checking in ❤️❤️

thank you so much. I am enjoying this journey. I will say this its all a mindset. I thought I would have to have someone maintain them for me to keep them up but when the pandemic hit I had to maintain it myself and ever since then I do my own maintenance. Thats the beauty of having them for me. I am saving tons of money. I hope you start you can actually start with 2 strand so you dont have to cut your hair. I wish I had done that but I knew I was going to transition so those last few months before my big chop I did all the styles I had been wanting to do like a permed bob and permed dixie cut lol then i did the big chop to start the transition

In the beginning I wore caps to wash the first 3 months… I literally got a retwist every 2 weeks because my hairs was so soft though I did instant loc. I also interlocked the first 3 months as well until it was steady enough to palm twist. Now days I only palm twist it and retwist 4 -6 weeks depending on how I feel lol

@@princesstrobinson so you ended up doing instant locs? Or are you saying by retwisting every 2 weeks it instantly loc'd? Did you instant loc it yourself?

@@cherritawilson8666 when I initially started my journey I got it instant locked I have a video on it. It’s my first video on here and it was the only time I did it however it did not hold so that is why I had to go back every 2 weeks and during those retwist sessions I would get them interlocked to keep them from unraveling

@@princesstrobinson oh okay. Got it. I will check that video out. I was loc'd for a month on my second wash I didn't use a cap and they washed out. Thank you for all your tips...😘😘
