this video so comforting and encouraging to watch! I wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration and positive energy that keeps me going- I was doing everything I could to fight against recovery and I was making very little progress both physically and emotionally, but two months ago (with the help of kind internet people like you!) I decided I had to commit and it's been so so worth it, and I'm proud to say that today I went out for lunch with my friends and ate the whole thing for the first time in almost a year!! if anyone watching is deciding whether to recover, I promise it's the best decision you'll ever make :)

Thank you for this really honest and candid video. It describes the process of anorexia recovery so well. The ups and downs. The good and the bad. So proud of you for facing your fears and recovering at home the way you did. Such amazing insight into your trauma and the relationship between that and the eating disorder. I also have been through trauma and experienced similar feelings and emotional dyregulation and the dissociation plus flashbacks. Glad you managed to get the some private therapy.... I also have the diagnosis of CPTSD. There's a couple of books I'd recommend. 'The body keeps the score' from striving to surviving (I think it's called) by Pete Walker. I am debating EMDR, I've had counselling but don't feel I've ever fully recovered from the trauma and I'm still struggling with the ED symptoms and the CPTSD symptoms. It's hard to get support for Ed through trauma. Like you say the available support is not relevant to how our problem with food has manifested. So super proud of you for fighting with your demons and working on yourself. This video has helped me to feel so less alone!!!! Keep going lovely. You're such an inspiration ❤️ never lose hope, promise me that xxx

do u have any tips for being physically recovered but still having to challenge fear foods ily ur so brave

To get over fear foods you have to conquer your fear head on. So you could write every fear food done and then choose a challenge you wanna do. You also probably have to repeat the challenges more than ones to conquer the fear completely but everytime you eat your fear food it will get easier so just stay strong and fight the fears. :)

Hello, I m writing from Turkey. I m in recovery from anorexia. I had a Extreme hunger. I've been experiencing this for 5 days. I've gained 4 kilos in 10 days since I started recovery. I no longer regret the food I ate. but I'm afraid of gaining too much weight. When do you think the feeling of extreme hunger will end?
@Celia-xl5dc

The feeling of extreme hunger usually ends when your body trusts you again. When it is sure that you'll eat enough. You can only stop your extreme hunger by honouring every single hunger cue and letting yourself eat as much as your body wants to. But I also wanted to ask you to not post specific numbers of weight because those can be really triggering for others and I think we all want this to be a safe space for everyone. :)

@@Celia-xl5dc Thanks a lot for your reply. I am happy to eat, but my extreme hunger is still not over and I continue to gain weight. My belly has started to come out. This makes me very unhappy. I feel like my hunger will never end.

I know it is hard to keep going. But if you really honour every hunger cue the extreme hunger will eventually go away. It can take a while but it won’t be forever so try and push through! Weight gain can be necessary in recovery so try to accept the weight gain. Your body will eventually reach its set point. That your belly started to be more prominent could just be because of the bloating. If you previously restricted your body needs to kinda relearn how to cope with food again so bloating is pretty normal in recovery.

Just be mindful that you aren't simply swapping anorexia as a coping mechanism in favour of self harm. Try and find some healthier strategies ❤️
