there is a camera developed that can record at 1 trillion frames per second. its used to record the movement of light and it's one of the most astonishing things I've seen
actually that is not true. what you saw is not from one moment bue several streams of light and the photos were syncronized so it gives the sensation that its only one stream of light. but it was several streams of light photographed with femtoseconds apart since they were fired. still an amazing technology. please dont think im saying this to call you ignorant, just letting you know, and kudos for being so interessed in science.

+Max Dibden Imagine his neighbours going: "He used to work on a Hollywood blockbuster with Robert Downey Jr. you know." "And now he's just filming himself smashing mugs on the driveway, what a pity."
Jester Dude, your eyes don't work in FPS. You can see any number of FPS, the question just becomes, does the content of the video change fast enough to notice it? "a human can't but an eagle can"?? What logic is that? Eagles have sharp vision, but FPS has nothing to do with image sharpness.
+Jackson Moyer but he used a different slow mo camera to do it. this was done on the phantom flex and that other one was done on the v1610 which is a camera that can shoot slower motion in a higher resolution (therefore more price to it)
@@tjade9150 omg another TJ I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE NAMED TJ FOR SO LONG!!!!!!!! How did u get named TJ? Mine was the first letter of my parents name. It's so surprising for us to find another TJ (I am overeacting sorry but I'm shook)
That is not evil at all. I didnt mean that 9gag people suck. I am a 9gagger too. Just that everyone gets cancer from lower than 60fps gifs, and everyones cancer will be cured from over 100fps gifs. So I can imagine 10,000 fps
They themselves shoot slow motion videos at 250000 fps. See the description guys.. This video is uploaded on Winter 2011, that means beginning of their channel. So enjoy. :)
Between Gavin speaking softly with his pleasant accent, the ambient music, and the shattering mugs sounding like windchimes, I think this turned out to be an unintentional ASMR video.
The Master Sorry bud, but i don't think that's true xD There's the MIT camera(1trillion fps camera) that was made 5 years ago, but nothing in the 50's :D do you have a source?
***** Sorry, i thought i wrote a comment but i don't see it here. Anyways, the camera actually recorded at 15 million frames per second, not a trillion.
The Master i can see your previous comment here, about the 1 trillion fps camera of the 50's, which i doubted a lot. 15 million fps is a lot of frames, but it's more believable now :D
argo117007 No, he didn't. He's explicitly said at least once that he _didn't_ film it himself. If you can find an example of him saying that he did then by all means, link it. You won't though since he didn't film it himself. By the way, "gavin is the only one who knows how to use that camera the best"? That sentence makes approximately zero sense.
Slow mo sounds are added during editing, I don't think phantom cameras record audio and if you take it from another device you can't really sync it perfectly because you don't have a reference point like the clap they use to shoot movies, and if you slow down a sound to much it just become terrible to the ear
1trillion frames per second, imagine slo mo guys filming with that at how a cesium atom reacts with a outer electron in slow motion with the electron vibrating it, THERES about 10,000,000,000 vibrations or cycles Of a outer electron in a cesium atom so in slo motion that would be amazing to see a atom like that
Imagine if you were able to perceive real time as 1000, 2500, 5000 or 10000 frames per second. Knowing what it looks like, and being able to move what we consider "normal" speed, but time is moving as though it were slowed like this, you'd be able to catch every single piece as it breaks and lay them neatly in a pile before the human eye can register what happens. Basically, this is what the Flash sees. *Sigh* If only.
That was the point of the thought experiment. You are able to move as fast as you are able to perceive time, as in what would be considered "normal" movement while everything else is slowed. Thank you for understanding Jesus! lol
Steven Riggan the thing is though, that the human eye can percienve change in this detail, its the processing power of your brain that means you see at what we consider to be normal speed. Its just that the brain itself refreshes at a much slower rate
I loved the slo-mo scenes in A Game of Shadows! Makes the movie and the insight into Holmes' mind that more fun. But, Gavin, why waste perfectly good tea??
Robert Markoš When you ask a question you expect Yes/no. People don't tell you they didn't realize you were sarcastic, they think it would make them look dumb. So "no" is not an option. "Ofcourse I knew you were sarcastic."
well i think they are used to it and they know it hes not doing things like this for the first time as he said he recorded many videos there and in the backyard
He definitely did if you watch the movie, here is a link to it online vodlocker.com /73fgochwr90g, at 2:05:12 his credit is in the upper half of the video.
