First off - I enjoyed that. Just another part of your daily life. Thanks for sharing. Problem solving is a big part of Farming. Good job you had new front tyres on 695. Might have challenged the old ones. I guess putting the topper on a pallet would have made it a simple Mustang job. PS Want to buy my 3pt linkage forklift?

Can’t do it with this machine. There are three points of contact that would need a pallet three meters by two meters square. I recon the Mustang would struggle with that.

Morning Ian, great video as always. Shows how enterprising farmers need to be to get jobs done a lot of the time, and to understand how to do it as safely so no one gets hurt. The manufacturer is responsible to provide information on how to sling and lift equipment like this which has a strange centre of gravity. On another note, noticed the log splitter on the back of the tractor. It would be good to see a video of it in operation with some of your guys as I need to purchase one and not sure on the best type. Keep up the good work😊

Ian, here in the US, there is an honorable profession of "riggers." They do what you just did. Figure out weight against balance against lifting points against how high and how far with usually an obnoxious piece. Well done.

You should put in a hoist - even if it's just a manual chain fall. Would make loading those fertilizer bags safer. You'd probably have to have your steel guy add some structure to your shed. I don't think trusses would handle the load.

Poor thing thought you were going out with the bunny chaser. I'd have done the loops on the forks like you did but then thrown the strap ends over the top and back of the forks and behind the head on the loader then run the tine through the arch and strapped on. Or marked my wheels, moved the tractor, dug holes for the fronts and piled the dirt for the rears and let them back under it if the damned gits can't be bothered to send out a Palfinger truck to pick up faulty implements... Skip trucks are cheap hires too, those'll yoink several tons up and drop it on the flat easy peasy. Not sure I trust that Claas Western place...

would the digger not lift it just a idea
@paulf2529
@paulf2529 Год назад
It would be too heavy for a 3 ton and really difficult to find the point of balance and get it high enough. At times I've lifted approx 3/4 full builders bags of balast with a 3 ton and to get them on or off from a trailer you need to use both the arm and then lift right up on the front blade and even then only clear the trailer bed by an inch (ifor williams trailer) Thing is with a bulk bag the weight is even. It would need a 5 ton or up digger lift it safely.

Well maybe the smart farmer makes a pallet for under the implement. Zo he can pick it up that way. Of course a metal pallet base. Maybe something his maybe sun inlaw can help the farmer with. A metal frame to put all implements on for transport. Just a idea. But standing under the front lift arms. Not so smart.and poor poor biskit.she had to walk.
